6. You Remind Me - Mary J. Blige

Born in The Bronx, Mary J. Blige was discovered after singing in a recording booth at a mall in White Plains. Soon after she was signed to Uptown Records. "You Remind Me" first appeared on the soundtrack of the 1991 movie Strictly Business, and was released the following year as the lead single to her debut album What's The 411?. It became Mary's first #1 on the R&B chart as well as her first Top 40 hit on the Hot 100. And thus, the Queen Of Hip Hop Soul was born...

10. "Tennessee" is one of those songs I do not really recognize by its title but when I listened to it, I recognized it and really enjoyed. It's such a fun, catchy and great jam. Love the sound of this. And yayyy for a perfect rank with my #10 ranking! Interesting how this has the 4th highest standard deviation.

9. I love "Save The Best For Last" and think this is a really gorgeous song. With me ranking this at #6, I wish it made it higher, but I am glad that it made it this far into the Top 10. I think of this as my favorite song from Vanessa Williams. Yayy for 15 Top 10 rankings! How does this have the 5th highest standard deviation? I don't get that.

8. Darn I put "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" so gah..... so close to another perfect ranking. This is a really gorgeous, sensual and sexy song from En Vogue. Funny that I knew this song and thought it was an original song of theirs before learning it was an Aretha cover. But yeah they made this song their own and did great with this. Yay for 14 Top 10 ranks.

7. Oooof when I saw the clue for this was " seven of you will be losing your #1 while five will be a shedding a bottom 10. This song has the highest SD.," I had a feeling it would be "I Will Always Love You," and danggg I was right there. :( Dangg 7 #1s is reallly impressive as well as 15 Top 10s. I knew this song was polarizing from another game on here and I guess maybe because people find it overrated? I can get that but this is such a beautiful, memorable and iconic song, imo. Glad that this was able to make it to 7th as there were a lot of people wanting this out early. But ugh my stats are going down the drain with this set.

6. Well based on the last 3 reveals, I'm okay with "You Remind Me" being revealed but I do wish it had been my #28 instead, lmao. This is a great, fun and iconic jam from Mary J. Love this song but also glad it was the first of her songs to show up here too. Also dangg at 19 Top 10 ranks! That's amazing. :omg:

Her previous hit was the duet with Babyface "Give U My Heart", but in today's extra she's flying solo. Her song from the Boomerang soundtrack peaked at #2 on the R&B chart and #33 on the Hot 100. It was originally intended for Anita Baker, but she declined due to her pregnancy.

5. Diamonds And Pearls - Prince & The New Power Generation

The title track from Prince & The New Power Generation's 1991 album was that album's fourth release. Featuring vocals by member Rosie Gaines, it went straight to the top of the R&B chart and peaked in the Top 5 on the Hot 100. The lyric "If I gave you diamonds and pearls, would you be a happy boy or a girl?" is a take on the lyric "I'll buy you diamonds and pearls only if you're a good girl" from an earlier Prince song, "International Lover".

4. Baby-Baby-Baby - TLC

Formed in Atlanta, TLC originally consisted of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Crystal Jones and was known as 2nd Nature. The group later scored an audition with Pebbles, who signed them to her production company Pebbitone and changed the name to TLC. After and audition with LaFace Records, L.A. Reid made it clear that Crystal should be replaced, and that replacement came in the form of Rozonda Thomas, aka "Chilli".

"Baby-Baby-Baby" was the second single from TLC's debut album Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip. It was their first single to top the R&B chart, almost matched that feat on the Hot 100, and helped their debut album go quadruple platinum. Bow Wow sampled it in his 2009 song "You Can Get It All".

The second release from Dangerous, "Remember The Time" quickly rose to the top of the R&B charts and into the Top 5 on the Hot 100. It also hit #1 in Belgium and New Zealand and reached the Top 10 in 17 other countries.

The music video, directed by the late John Singleton, features cameos from Eddie Murphy, Iman, Magic Johnson, and Tommy "Tiny" Lister.

The original version samples the Audio Two song "Top Billin'". The remix samples the Betty Wright classic "Clean Up Woman" and features a young rapper from Brooklyn called The Notorious B.I.G.
