Just think if FAA got the radio support Luke’s new song is getting. It would have blocked Positions from the #1.

I guess people aren't connecting with house music, even with Beyonce and Drake trying to make it come back.
Also I guess it should've been expected but still funny despite the change in sound, the Drake song doing the best is the one that doesn't go with the house sound and is just a straightforward hip-hop banger.

I'm interested to see how the release of Elvis will impact Vegas. It's already going great on streaming.. Would Jimmy Cooks be Drake's 10th #1? He already has 10 #1s (11 if we include SICKO MODE), but yeah, there's a chance for that #1, and I think he needs at least like 40M streams. Yeah, I'm rooting for Vegas! I hope it's a another summer hit for Doja.

Might be a hot take, but I don't think Jimmy Crooks will beat First Class this week.

More importantly if it does, it will be another #1 for 21 Savage… Almost forgot that he was on Post’s rockstar for a second so Jimmy Cooks would be his 2nd #1.

Okay really good and bad news to report for the gays:
So bad news and really unfortunate to say this: Late to Da Party by Lil Nas X is...bad, I've listened to it 3 times and it's really not good. The beat is bad and Lil Nas's first verse...well y'all will hear it in 12 hours and you'll see what I mean
BUT in very good news, ᐸmaybeᐳ it's my fault by WILLOW is very VERY excellent. It's still pop punk and it might be one of her best pop punk songs yet.

I hope dremolus - solarpunk keeps tracking Honestly, Nevermind's Spotify performance only because I truly do believe it'll be the first album to keep losing streams till it gets to 0.0k streams. It really is fascinating lol. I'm kinda glad it's clear now to people on here that Drake fans just don't eat up anything he gives them because most of you seemed to believe that was the secret to his success. Now you see that isn't the case. His fanbase won't support something he puts out if they feel it isn't for them. The same thing happens to songs he's featured on which they don't care for. And with that being said, I can't wait for Drake's alternative rock/indie pop era ^__^

I actually bought the cassette single for "Lately" back in '98. I don't remember if it was discounted but I'm pretty sure it wasn't 49 cents or anything like that. But even at full price one million-selling single probably wouldn't have been enough to keep an entire label afloat. Their second single peaked at #29 on Hot 100, due almost entirely to sales (#16 on Sales & N/A on Radio) which leads me to believe they had their singles discounted since they were so relatively unknown selling so much and also their album flopped despite their singles being sales-driven. Discounting was a store-by-store basis thing ofcourse though. They could've been sold full priced at some retailers and discounted at others. This is the case for any 90s physical single so yeah we'll obviously never know for sure the full picture. Per Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Spotlight from November 28, 1998: Due to a 29% decline at retail, Hill falls 1-3 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales list, with 64,000 units. Hill's loss is Divine and Pendulum/Red Ant's gain. This the first No. 1 Hot 100 single for both the group and the label. Singles sales account for 74% of Divine's chart points. "Lately," which is sale-priced at select accounts, scanned 82,000 units, a 1% decline from last issue.
At radio, the song is beginning to cross from its rhythmic top 40 and R&B base to mainstream top 40 stations. "Lately" has 27 million audience impressions from airplay at 113 stations. The track jumps 37-32 on the Hot 100 Airplay list due to a 10% increase in audience.

I did it with Levitating/Save Your Tears. I’m doing it with Bad Habits. And unless they address the issue, I’ll probably do it with Stay/Heat Waves and whatever song overstays their welcome on the charts.

For all the talk about Drake, Beyonce, Joji, etc., can we take a moment to note that, ONCE AGAIN the biggest gainer on Spotify is a 37-year-old Kate Bush classic?
With the radio gains and ST part 2 coming soon, I'm really hoping she makes it all the way to #1. It's what she deserves.

Kate looks like she'll be at 25-30 million audience when the finale airs. Hopefully the finale will not only help streaming/sales but also its airplay so it'll gain even more that week too.

I still think RUTH is going #1, it's hype is not coming down and the finale for ST airs next week.

Honestly thank god they didn’t drop the whole season at once, it works perfectly to keep Kate afloat on the charts lol
To be fair, we don’t know how big of a gain she’ll get. I’m skeptical she’ll be back to 2+ million days. Maybe it’ll be a one day boost, maybe the song isn’t used as prominently as we assume it’ll be. It’s guesswork right now 🤷🏼♀️

Joji could get to #1 once he drops his album. The streaming will still be there let's say in august, and he should be pulling decent radio numbers at that point

Wow, that video proves it, but that is still VERY shocking, because I'm pretty sure that at least at one time you weren't allowed to be on the show if you previously had a record deal. And even if this rule wasn't exactly in place the season Kia auditioned, it still makes a lot of sense, because you can't have someone on these shows, which are meant to showcase the best undiscovered talent in America and launch them to fame, who previously already had a bit of fame, and a Hot 100 #1 to boot! I don't know about that whole season, but at least in that clip they didn't mention she was from Divine, so I think in her case, most people wouldn't know or probably forgot about her, so they thought they could get away with trying to conceal that, but it really is kind of fraudulent. The voice has welcomed successful music artists like Paula Deanda , billy Gilman, and Cupid (of the Cupid shuffle lol) As contestants, or special guest judges? That's another head-scratcher, because for someone like Paula Deanda, there's simply no way they could have passed her off as an unknown, because while she was never a top-tier A Lister, she was definitely well-known for at least a couple years by a good portion of the public. Was it like a "previous artists who got their 15 minutes get another shot at fame" special type of feature or something?

Was it like a "previous artists who got their 15 minutes get another shot at fame" special type of feature or something? The Voice has generally allowed people who were somewhat known to be on. I think as long as you don't currently have such a huge following and weren't uber successful, and you wanted to be on, they'd consider having you on.

Ugh, I miss back when Cassadee Pope was the frontwoman of rock band Hey Monday before she went on The Voice.
From what I read in the rules, it doesn't matter "how famous" (that seems like an arbitrary measure anyway) you are to audition lol (they probably just assume that really famous people won't audition). If they really wanted to avoid that, they would ban signed artists like American Idol did

Christina Grimmie (r.i.p.) was also a pretty huge name in the youtube musician scene when she auditioned for the Voice. I remember she did “Wrecking Ball” for her blind audition, I think.
at the same time, Idol seems to be allowing tiktok phenoms and nepo babies so I don’t think there’s a huge difference on that front.

I just noticed that Bam Bam is at number 22 on the Hot 100. They need to rework how they weigh points on the Hot 100 because that is outrageous. Airplay has way too much weight

Stay being near the Top 10 of the Hot 100, despite being outside the Top 100 of iTunes and Top 200 of AM, is even worse.
