Interestingly enough, Break My Soul is at 1 this week without topping a single metric but no outrage from a specific user. It only proves the negative biasness to Harry Styles. I'm more surprised that there were no outbursts for Nicky Youre - Sunroof. Radio practically carries it, as there are many folks who attack Radio songs. It is yet to hit TOP 10 on Streaming Chart. |

The difference is that As It Was remained at #1 for several weeks after it was done topping the metric charts. This is Break My Soul's first week at #1, and technically, it should have been #1 on the sales chart if not for the dumb Complete My Album rule. Anyways, BMS is going to top sales this week, in its 2nd week at #1, so no outrage needed.

Yeah it’s a building chart. The songs that are at the top when the summer begins have an advantage when the summer ends. That’s how Butter became Song of the Summer last year. We all know, though, that good 4 u was the real biggest song of last summer FTFY |

But Break My Soul was at 5 on sales this week so I don't know if it should have been at 1 this week if it wasn't even close to topping it.

Seems like radio listenership has been steadily increasing these past few months. ADT is pulling very huge numbers considering the average was somewhere around 70 million. Every week, I see the numbers are higher than predicted because the difference between Nielsen and Mediabase is getting lower. Since streaming numbers are actually low overall, we're going to see radio weighting a lot in the near future. It's the one factor that's catching up. Isn't it more so about songs doing well at different formats at the same time? "ABT" was able to have a high total because it was #1 at Top 40 while it was also #1 at Rhythmic, top 5 at Adult Top 40, and top 10 at Adult R&B. It even had top 30 play at 'Urban' radio and AC radio. Few songs as of late have been able to get that good of play on so many formats. Sure it's truly remarkable the multi-format support ADT and AIW. However, if you compare the Nielsen/Mediabase ratio from 5 months ago to now you would see the difference overall. 5 months ago, average Nielsen audience was estimated to be around 73% of Mediabase's, now that number is up to around 77.5%. |

^^Plus, being #1 in Digital Song Sales is now thankfully, generally the marginal reason why a song is #1 in the Hot 100.

I don’t really care about songs being carried by radio because the success of them usually varies. Sunroof is at #6 on the Radio Songs chart and is at #9 on the Hot 100. Other songs this year like Boyfriend and Numb Little Bug were also carried by radio. They peaked higher on the Radio Songs chart than Sunroof (Boyfriend at #4, NLB at #5), and yet peaked lower on the Hot 100 (Boyfriend at #16, NLB at #18). Sunroof appears to have a more stable streaming and sales metric, otherwise it probably wouldn’t be in the top 10 right now. That, and I like the song so I’m cool with it.

Sunroof is also being carried by TikTok in a way right? I know TT doesn’t count towards the Hot 100 but it’s all over TikTok or at least was in the last few months. That’s the only reason I know it.

As a final note on BMS's CMA iTunes lost digital song sales, HITS revenue chart had the song for 6k digital song for the week, which implies 7k CMAs song returns.
