I agree that some of their releases in the past four years (to me) were better than this song. So it's a shame those didn't become even small hits. But, still can't help but have a good time when I listen to this song, so I'm happy it's becoming a hit for them and they can be one of those acts that span three decades of hits. Run deserved Agreed. But Lose Somebody, and especially Someday deserved more.

People need to realize, learn and accept that the size of a hit =/= how remembered it will be. A song can be HUGE and still become forgotten and it gradually gets phased out of the public consciousness when younger/new music listeners don’t hear it either. It’s not that difficult. Your experience =/= everyone else’s. ”The Twist” by Chubby Checker was the biggest Hot 100 song ever for decades, and the vast majority of young people don’t think of it when 60s music comes up. Janet Jackson was arguably bigger than Michael at her peak and was the highest paid musician in history at one point, yet many people can’t name a Janet song but can name a Madonna or Michael song (to be fair, a lot of that is also the fault of Les Moonves). Karyn White’s “Romantic” hit #1, and does ANYONE know that song? It’d be interesting to do some pulse polls to which songs are remembered the best, by which demographics etc

Run sounds like a commercial for a Nissan car so no, it did not deserved. All of OR's music since ~2019 (maybe even before) has sounded very commercial. We should be thankful that absolutely nothing from their album that came out last year never charted in the US, the whole project is down there with Maroon 5's Red Pill Blues in terms of once-respectable-band-turned-commercialcore.

Potential thread idea?

How is DJ Khaled still relevant? I bet he would have died off years ago if most of his songs didn’t feature big names like Drake.

What does DJ Khaled do? Get people to jump on songs to keep him relevant.

I can't see BMS doing 14.5m on streams this week considering it did 15.5m as per HITS last week with the album release (I know final numbers include more outlets but still). It's #13 on Spotify now and #9 on AM.

I am a huge Eurovision fan and I'm just now finding out Olivia Newton John competed (representing the UK) in 1974!?!?!!
Finished 4th out of 17 participants with her song "Long Live Love." The song peaked at #11 in both the UK and Australia, as well as Top 10 peaks in Ireland, Finland, Norway and Belgium.

It did closer to 17 million audio officially, and overall it did 18.9 million The QUEENS remix is also making a decent dent (829K global on Spotify with 3 more tracking days left)

Because that's how I found out. Also, that was the year ABBA won, so we had two legends and artists who truly dominated the next 10 years, in the same year.

Not surprised...I don't think people under 30 are really familiar with her in a large scale.

^There's a Madonna remix now. I know that, but last week "BMS" had the sales off the hype of the album release as well as D2C sales. Is the Madonna remix selling well enough to not only offset those things, but surpass them?

Is the Madonna remix selling well enough to not only offset those things, but surpass them? Yes, the Queens remix was #1 for most of the week, although it has fallen off quite a bit in the last 24 hours. The stream boost from the Visualizer video should give it the boost needed for a 2nd week at #1.

Yes, the Queens remix was #1 for most of the week That doesn't necessarily say anything about its actual sales, though. Peaks are also relative to the sales around it. Plus the D2C sales from last week would not have been reflected on iTunes.
