Snoop Dogg Jay-Z Mariah Carey only artists with top 10s in the 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s too bad beyonce isn’t apart of the 4 decades club… cuz not only would she have have top 10’s but a number 1 in each of the 4 decades too…right next to mariah 😭 There's always 2030 :)

Snoop Dogg Jay-Z Mariah Carey only artists with top 10s in the 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s I know it's technically true, but it really is odd someone like Snoop can get on this list for a guest verse, but someone like Beyonce is not on it despite singing solo on most of "Say My Name." Diana Ross and George Michael don't get credit for their group hits despite singing lead on so many of those hits, yet acts can get a hit credit for 1 guest verse. Snoop Dogg Jay-Z Mariah Carey only artists with top 10s in the 90s, 00s, 10s and 20s Beyonce as well. Destiny's Child definitely counts. In a technical sense it doesn't count for Beyonce because she isn't credited as a solo artist. The other 3 all have solo credits on songs in the 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s.

I’d say it’s really up to oneself to give credit or not. Billboard may choose not to acknowledge solo artists on a technicality but I would definitely add Beyoncé to the four-decade list. She was on the song, she likely celebrated when it hit number one. You can count them or not but I don’t think they can really be argued against. Likewise, I’d count Eminem’s various singles as part of D12 and Bad Meets Evil, all of P. Diddy’s personas, and “Sicko Mode” as a number one for Drake, even though he isn’t formally credited. He has a prominent role on it. Add an asterisk if it helps but not giving at least a mention of these instances as part of these conversations is silly to me.

I definitely agree with you on giving those artists the credit. For example you still get graded on a group project at school. What's the difference here?

If we consider Billboard as dealing with giant collections of database information, the difference is in the credits. The credits are what allow you to spit out information without having to remember all of the asterisks.

Sonny & Cher had two top tens in the 80s??? Also, En Vogue had 6 top tens in the 90s, Prince had 5 and, technically, he had 2 in the 2010s.

I just noticed that every song Beyoncé had lead credits on, charted multiple weeks at number 1 (she was only featured on Savage Remix) Crazy In Love - 8 weeks Baby Boy - 9 weeks Check On It - 5 weeks Irreplaceable - 10 weeks Single Ladies - 4 weeks Perfect Duet - 5 weeks Break My Soul - 2 weeks so far
Is that record for her?

With Sonny & Cher, they had 4 top 10 hits in the 60s and 2 in the 70s but I mistakenly put their last two top 10 hits in the 80s decade instead. As for Prince, he did score 5 top 10 hits in the 90s (don't know how I missed that) but that was the last decade he scored any top 10 hits.

Mariah's first 11 #1s where she was a lead artist had multiple weeks at #1, though the streak ended with "My All" so it depends how specifically you are wording this 'record.'

No, I only count top 10 hits for the respective years (in this case, decades) they originally reached the top 10. That way, I don't double/triple count.

Anyone else who notices anything wrong with the list, please let me know so I can make corrections. Thanks. I might be wrong here and forgetting about a lot of songs, but Nicki with 17 in the 2010's? I don't think that's right.

BMS 2nd week at #1, Stayin Alive debuting all the way up to 5, First Class dropping that much to 9 and especially Bad Decisions at 10 are things i never expected to happen but here we are. This top 10 is definitely one of the better weeks of this year despite the quality of one of the songs i mentioned.

The best thing that I can say about Stayin Alive is that at least the Brothers Gibb/their estates are securing the bag.

Imo, this is a bad week for the charts.
Aiw went up. Ugh. Can it just leave?
Adt went down which is sad.
Lnt left the top ten entirely.
But the worst thing about this week is the fact that First Class just tanked all the way down from 6 to 9.

New ones, yes, but two of his songs made the top ten in the 2010s. Worth mentioning (to me anyway, you can put what you want on the lists). No, I only count top 10 hits for the respective years (in this case, decades) they originally reached the top 10. That way, I don't double/triple count. Even for something like "Bohemian Rhapsody" which had two different, real runs into the top 10? (Personally I consider that different from a one-off due to a death, but that's me.)

If a Madonna song that first reached the top 10 in 1991 reached the top 10 in 2001, 2011 and 2021 again respectively, I wouldn't count it every decade it reached the top 10 because then it'd count as four top 10 hits, not one.

Speaking of Madonna, she had 5 top tens in the 2000s.
Also, while it makes sense that Madonna was not credited for Break My Soul on the Hot 100, was she credited on the sales chart? Or do they just apply the same credit rules to all charts?
