Sing A Song is really annoying and corny and Getaway is mid, but hey...it's EWF, so...why not push them into the Top 10, based on name alone? That's definitely what's happening here. I get that YHRF is a gay anthem, but it's just not really my fave. Sweet Thing, Love Hangover, I Want You, and Something He Can Feel are SUPREME though, so I'm glad they still here, especially I Want You, which kinda surprised me, to be honest. Rooting for Sweet Thing.

I can agree with Getaway being kinda mid. Sing A Song, corny, but it is a classic, like mot of EWF's catalog, but this had to be their weakest year in terms of quality. And I'm glad you appreciate Something He Can Feel (the original) since a lot of people tend to reference to the 1992 cover.

Glad we agree. EWF is one of my favorite bands. I've even seen them live but, yes, those two songs are weak compared to the many legendary songs in their vast catalog. As for Something He Can Feel, as much as I love En Vogue's cover (they also covered Hooked On Your Love from Sparkle), Aretha's is, of course, superior.

My #21 is the only song that I feel is overrated and didn't "deserve" to make it this far (I don't care to throw that deserve word around in rankdowns though), but it's not a bad song. Nothing else bothers me that much...though Car Wash and Play That Funky Music are definitely coasting heavy in the familiarity boat. I'm pleasantly surprised Dazz did make it to the top 10, I thought that would be underappreciated and go out super early.

10. Car Wash - Rose Royce

"Car Wash" was the debut single by this Los Angeles-based band. Written and produced by Norman Whitfield for the movie of the same name, it was their biggest hit, topping the soul and Hot 100 charts. It also hit #1 in Canada and helped the Car Wash soundtrack win the Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack Album. It was later covered by Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott for the soundtrack of another movie, Shark Tale.

7. Play That Funky Music - Wild Cherry

Formed in Ohio, Wild Cherry broke through with the release of "Play That Funky Music". Their debut single on the Epic label topped the soul and Hot 100 charts and was one of the first singles to be certified platinum. It won an American Music Award for Favorite R&B/Soul Single and was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance By a Duo Or Group. The inspiration for the song came from performing at a nightclub in Pittsburgh when someone asked the band, "Are you gonna play some funky music, white boys?" It took lead singer Robert Parissi just a few minutes to write it.

Vanilla Ice sampled the song in his own song of the same name, which led Parissi to sue for copywright infringement since he was not credited as a songwriter initially. Parissi later received songwriting credit.
