My 'Bama sister made top two! WOW! Top 10 didn't necessarily surprise me, but I was not expecting Candi to get this far; I was expecting a Diana vs. Chaka showdown. Love Hangover was my #1 but I have no problem with either lady winning out here. YHRF would be a slight upset IMO.
YHRF is a song that had to grow on me over a long period of time. I wasn't crazy about it when I was younger but I really appreciate it now; the writing is understated but beautifully phrased, and Candi brought a subtle depth to the vocal that is really underrated (even if it did just make the final two in a rankdown). Kind of the same way I came to appreciate Mariah's Love Takes Time, this is the disco version of that I guess, lol.

And now, the final two... Pretty impressive that this managed to finish at #2 despite not having any #1s. 2. Young Hearts Run Free - Candi StatonFrom her album of the same name, "Young Hearts Run Free" is Candi Staton's biggest hit, reaching the Top 20 on the Hot 100. It was later referenced in another Candi Staton song, "Victim". Kym Mazelle covered the song for the soundtrack to the movie Romeo + Juliet. And the #1...everyone had this in their Top 15! 1. Love Hangover - Diana RossFrom her self-titled 1976 album, "Love Hangover" is one of Diana's biggest hits, topping the soul and Hot 100 charts and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. A version by The 5th Dimension, one of the extras in this thread, charted at the same time as Diana's version, but of course, Diana's version was much more successful. It's been sampled and covered numerous times over the decades, including by Monica, who notably sampled it in 1998 for her hit "The First Night". Congrats to Mirago for a perfect Top 2! 1993 was a good year for music, but a shame Don't Walk Away didn't reach #1.

- Sad to see "Boogie Fever" miss out the Top 20, as that was my #7. :( - Happy to get a perfect ranking at #20 with "Disco Lady." - OMGG noooo Not my #1 of "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty" showing up at #16. Ah dangg, my #1 usually never does so bad in this game. :'( Ugh I'm sad as I do really love this song and think it's so fun. Awww no at it being the 2nd highest SD. - Danggg, not my #2 of "Inseparable" coming in at #15. Goshh why am I doing so bad all of a sudden? I love and think this is such a gorgeous song. <3 Wow at this having the highest SD. :( - Pleased to have a perfect rank at #10 with "Car Wash." That's a really fun and enjoyable song. - LOL I forgot that I ranked "Play That Funky Music" so high at #3. Hmm wow. But I do love this song and think it's really fun. Happy to see it making it all the way to 7th. But yikes me losing my Top 3 before the Top 5. Ugh another favorite of mine with a high SD, the 4th highest SD. - I really like Aretha's "Something He Can Feel" where I ranked this at #8, but I do prefer and love the En Vogue version more, which I'm also more used to. - I love "Sweet Thing" enough so where I ranked it at 5th. Love that song and very pleased to see it making it to 3rd! - Pleasantly surprised but happy with "Young Hearts Run Free." This was my #6, so I do love this song and think it's a fun song. Very impressive to see this reach #2 with no #1 rankings. :o - Oooh I'm definitely not surprised to see "Love Hangover" win this round. Wow impressive how this got all of its rankings in the Top 15! :o And woww at 12 #1s for this song. That is insanely impressive. I do love this song as I ranked this at #4... so after losing my Top 3 throughout the game, I'm glad to see this win out! Great job hosting this, Soulsista! I'm glad we're returning back to the 90s to 1993!
