Okay? That doesn't make them part of the community. Maybe I missed part of the conversation, but aren't we discussing musicians being wildly successful while being openly non-hetero? That... would exclude Harry and Bunny as neither have came out as being anything. Whether they're actually queer waiting or not has nothing to do with the discussion. On the other hand, Sam Smith and Kim Petras both are openly non-hetero. And that's monumental because, no matter how far we've progressed thus far, open members of the LGBT+ community still have it harder, and yes that includes streaming. I'm surprised you even asked that. Just look at the stats. Who is dominating streaming? Cis heterosexual men or music marketed towards cis heterosexual men. Drake, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, etc. That may not be the case right this second, but that doesn't mean overall they don't have it easier making more playlists and attracting more listeners. I mean, there's a reason one of today's biggest gay icons and fellow LGBT member, Lady Gaga, only has one massive streaming hit and it's the one with the cis straight white dude where they perform traditionally hetero approved music. To those saying "we shouldn't care about their sexuality" are missing the point entirely. It's not about who is what, it's about celebrating the achievements of those who have had to struggle harder to obtain the same fame as some random white guy with a guitar. And that's not to say they didn't have it hard, either, it just acknowledges the privilege they have had that others haven't. It's not a dig at straight people, it's not a dig at closeted people, it's not a dig at people suspected of queerbaiting, it's just recognizing things as they are in celebration. It's the same reason we have separate achievement lists and stats for women, blacks, Latinos, foreigners, etc. They're all marginalized groups in the US who will automatically be facing harder obstacles just because of their identities. Of course I may have misread this discussion entirely.

Just heard "Unholy" and I really don't wanna hear it again. What a mess......... That's it, guess I'm officially in that age when you dislike (don't see the appeal of) today's top hits.🤷 How does not liking 1 song mean you don’t see the appeal of today’s top hits? If you don’t like any song in the top 10, then maybe… As It Was is the only 2022 #1 song I like so far. As It Was and Bad Habit are the only great songs in the current top 10 imo, Super Freaky Girl and I Ain't Worried are bops. My post was mostly a joke, but it's true that I absolutely hate this year's music and I'm not a big fan of 2021.
