she obviously wasn't going to switch gears/tease her new era with a soundtrack song. this should not be a surprise to anyone.

not to mention the soundtrack is produced by Mark Ronson, and this sound is very much in line with some of his work, too.

it's a solid song, a cute bop, summer playlist filler. i'm intrigued to see how it performs.

I don't think she's necessarily unveiling her new era with this.

That was my point lol. The idea that she was gonna pivot creatively for a tie in to a movie seems weird to me and IDK why people had those expectations. "Swan Song" wasn't an entry for Future Nostalgia and neither is "Vegas" a preview of whatever Doja is cooking.

Mark Ronson claims he delivered the production and Dua and her team wrote over it so she was pretty much bound to that disco sound.

Despite being down 14.25% from last week, Ella Baila Sola stays on top for a sixth week in a row. Despacito spent a total of 8 weeks on top, meaning Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma are close to tying if not breaking the record for the most weeks spent by a Spanish song. They aren't the only newsworthy acts making songs in Spanish this week however, as Bad Bunny notches another Top 10 debut with his Jersey club inspired track, WHERE SHE GOES, getting 10M. The only other thing to note is that All My Life dipped 9% this week, although we'll have to see if it gets a big gain off the back of Lil Durk's newest album.

It was actually a rather eventful week with big debuts from Fuerza Regida, Lana Del Rey, and Post Malone, along with a revamped version of AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM dropping late and adding in Kendrick Lamar. However, we didn't get a lot of meaningful gains as you can see with how many old songs went up, possibly due to changes in autoplay and playlisting.

I just found out today that there's a Part II for LITC. Are there no remixes combining rules on 2008 before?

I also like Bye Bye, however I think with Touch My Body-Bye Bye, they were trying to replicate the success of It's Like That-We Belong Together by having an upbeat/dancy song followed by an uptempo ballad, but Bye Bye just wasn't as strong of a song, so I'm not too surprised it underperformed. That was kind of a fumbled era, they should've gone with I Stay In Love or I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time as the second single instead, or the never released Migrate, which everyone wanted and surely would've done well, especially with T-Pain being really huge at the time.

As with Love In This Club, Part II was a completely different song, not a remix, so it wouldn't have been combined. I actually liked Part II a lot better!

The song, which reigned for seven weeks in 2022, surpasses the chart run of The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights."

Harry Styles’ “As It Was” makes history on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart, adding an unprecedented 61st week on the survey (dated June 3).

The song, on Erskine/Columbia Records, debuted on the April 9, 2022-dated tally and spent seven weeks at No. 1 last May-July. It ranks at No. 15 on the latest list.

The track breaks out of a tie with The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” for the longest Pop Airplay stay.

Here’s a rundown of the songs that have charted on Pop Airplay the longest, over the ranking’s 30-year-plus history.

“As It Was” was released as the lead single from Styles’ third album, Harry’s House – and remains on Pop Airplay as the set’s fourth entry on the chart, “Satellite,” holds at its No. 37 high in its second week on the survey. Meanwhile, “As It Was” has outlasted two follow-up radio singles from the album on the chart: “Late Night Talking” led for a week last September and “Music for a Sushi Restaurant” reached No. 9 in October.

On the all-genre, multi-metric Billboard Hot 100, “As It Was” spent 15 weeks at No. 1, the fourth-longest reign in the chart’s history.

“As It Was” has drawn 4.1 billion in all-format radio audience and 842.5 million official on-demand streams and sold 220,000 downloads in the United States (through May 18), according to Luminate.

All charts dated June 3 will update on Billboard.com on Wednesday, May 31 (a day later than usual due to the Memorial Day holiday Monday, May 29).
