Not that I am so familiar with Oakridge Boys, but Lucky Moon was pretty catchy, and I also enjoyed No Matter How High in the previous YE RD. I guess their vocal could be polarizing, but I definitely enjoy their harmony in those two songs, and they for sure know how to create good melodies.

Alabama had a lot of pedestrian/boring songs in the back-half of their radio career.
I respect their success and I do love some of their hits, but there are not among my very favorite country bands, which feels like an outlier opinion if you ask '80s and '90s country fans.

I've grown to appreciate Alabama a lot more in recent years than I did back in the 90s, or early 2000s. Happy to see "Down Home" be the highest of their songs, that said I am rooting for it to miss the Top half.
Hope to see "One More Payment", "Heroes and Friends", and "I Thought It Was You" go soon

I had originally planned to cover the entire bottom 30 by the end of the day, but as it's a bit later than anticipated, I'll reveal the next five songs tonight and another five tomorrow evening. Next song coming right up!

"One More Payment" was released in April 1991 as the third single from Clint Black's sophomore album, Put Yourself in My Shoes, and went on to become his eighth consecutive top 10 hit. Initially a top 30 contender, it didn't take long for this track to slide down into the bottom 30, receiving its first of four bottom 5 rankings early in its run. It briefly dipped into the bottom 10, largely thanks to a near last-place ranking from castleoblivion26, who expressed a desire for its swift departure. However, a final top 15 placement from taylor is terrified and a top 20 spot from LBTrocks offered just enough support to lift it out of the bottom 20.

"Going Out Tonight" was released in September 1991 as the fourth single from Mary Chapin Carpenter's third studio album, Shooting Straight in the Dark, and was a top 15 hit on the country charts. This song had a rollercoaster start, initially being a near bottom 10 contender and then making a significant jump into the top half, largely due to a lone top 20 ranking from someguy. However, it soon settled back into the bottom 20 before receiving support from the top-tier, securing its place in the bottom 30. In total, five participants lost a top-half ranking, including two top 30s from castleoblivion26 and Kanenrá:ke, while three others managed to shed a bottom 5 ranking.

"Drift Off to Dream" was released in January 1991 as the fifth and final single from Travis Tritt's debut album, Country Club, and peaked at number 3 in the United States, while it became his third number-one hit in Canada. This song was a strong top half contender during the first half of its run and even managed to break into the top 40 briefly, boosted by the support of a top 15 ranking from kw9461 and a pair of top 40 rankings from both myself and nathanalbright. However, in the latter half of its run, it began to slowly lose ground, eventually landing back inside the bottom 30. This decline was accentuated as both taylor is terrified and LBTrocks, along with nuggie99, assigned this song a bottom 5 ranking. This ended up underperforming more than I expected, as I wouldn't have anticipated it landing inside the bottom 30. I can't help but wonder if Travis Tritt's politics might have played a role here, potentially skewing the results to some extent.

"Point of Light" was released in May 1991 as the lead-off single from the Randy Travis album High Lonesome and was his twenty-first single overall. It charted at #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks and hit #1 on the Canadian RPM country Tracks chart. The songwriters, Don Schlitz and Thom Schuyler, were commissioned to write the song in response to then-United States President George H. W. Bush's "Thousand points of light" program. This song turned out to be one of the more polarizing ones, with rankings spread out in every direction, ranging from a bottom 5 from taylor is terrified to a top 10 from nathanalbright. Notably, it not only began at its highest point but also ended up at its lowest point in the final moments of the rankdown. Unfortunately, nathanalbright also stands out as the only participant thus far to lose not one, but two of their top 10 rankings.

"Somewhere in My Broken Heart" was released as the third single from Billy Dean's debut studio album, Young Man, and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The song was in fact first recorded by Randy Travis in 1989 for his album No Holdin' Back. This song spent most of its run at or very near the bottom 30, lacking the necessary top-level support to stand out among the other songs in its vicinity. In the process, both castleoblivion26 and sabre14 lost a top 25 ranking, while .indulgecountry and LBTrocks managed to shed a bottom 5 ranking.

"Where Are You Now" was released in July 1991 as the fourth and final single from Clint Black's sophomore album, Put Yourself in My Shoes, and reached number-one on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts becoming his sixth chart-topper. This song had a somewhat rocky start, quickly becoming a front-runner for the last place. Despite a surge in support during the latter half of its run, it struggled to regain its momentum. Most participants ranked it within their top 60, with only a few including it in their top half. Among those, taylor is terrified was the sole participant to give it a spot in their top 20. Fortunately, it's now CoJoFan's turn to witness their last-place contender exit the competition. It's been my observation that Clint Black often falls short in year-end rankdowns, primarily because the Pulse country community hasn't shown much enthusiasm for his songs. This is quite different from his level of popularity during that era when he briefly rivaled, if not exceeded, the early success of Garth Brooks.

"I Thought It Was You" was released in July 1991 as the first single and title track from Doug Stone's sophomore album of the same name and was a Top 5 hit on the country charts. This song initially gained traction as an early top 40 contender, with its highest rankings occurring in the first half of the competition. Notably, nuggie99 had it in their top 15, and CoJoFan placed it in their top 20. However, during the latter half, it started to wane and lingered around the top 60. Unfortunately, it ultimately slipped in the final moments and found itself in the bottom 30, largely due to a second bottom 10 ranking from LBTrocks (joining castleoblivion26 in that category).
