ohhh you're right so State Of Grace did 10.7M on Spotify for the full week, which makes more sense. interesting that State Of Grace was the 2nd biggest re-recording after All Too Well, it wasn't that big back in 2012.

it's a phenomenal song.

but in terms of numbers, in addition to having two versions on the album helping it by default, it also benefits from the usual Track 1 privilege. so it's not that surprising in hindsight.

isn't that quite common though throughout chart history,  there are so many artists who hit big, had a couple big albums and some hits and then despite continuing to release music, just stopped being successful chart wise.

i would say it's the norm for most artists.

i would say it's the norm for most artists.

Yeah the exceptions make up the biggest artists of all time. Taylor, Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince etc.


In general, it's hard for artists to evolve their image and music while maintaining their old fandom. Artists can get away with two or three albums with a similar image and music but afterwards people just get tired of it and want something new. It's hard for most artists to present something new while maintaining whatever it was that gave them for initial fandom. 


Katy Perry, Paula Abdul, Carpenters, Bee Gees, Monkees, Linkin Park etc are artists that had ridiculous success for a few albums but just weren't able to keep on evolving in a way that maintained their commercial success.

Fast Car is probably gonna peak in the Pop/Hot AC/AC trio later than Last Night but i do think the fact both have peaked on country is gonna stunt their radio growth/stability, and Morgan does still have the streaming lead even if Fast Car overtakes him on radio.

I forgot the exact numbers but I think it's a little steeper than with both Red TV and Fearless TV but more or less in line with the other two

It's a re-release so obviously the steep drop is to be expected, but how does this compare to the second-day drops of Fearless TV and Red TV?

I forgot the exact numbers but I think it's a little steeper than with both Red TV and Fearless TV but more or less in line with the other two

For the top 3 tracks (non-pre-release/vault/promo'd)

Fearless TV:

So based on the album tracks it definitely had the harshest drop. It's clear most prefer her Red onwards/non-country stuff the most.

Not based on actual spins. SN's Top 3 songs all have more streams on Day 2 than top 3 from 'Red' - #3 'Sparks Fly' is still above #1 'Red'
