Honestly this doesn't surprise me. Nearly all KPOP fans in the US listen to Spotify given the selection artist available on Spotify.  When I was checking out Apple Music a couple years ago most well known KPOP acts were not even available on Apple Music in the US. The only KPOP acts I saw on Apple Music was BTS and Blackpink and thats it, I even search for others I found nothing. I maybe wrong, I don't thinking any BTS song has even charted in the Apple Music Top 200.

Or it could possibly boost more attention for it. And he and Taylor probably share more of the same fanbase than some might think, so it actually might be a smart move for him.

But I kind of agree that a Cruel Summer remix isn't the most necessary and might cheapen it a bit. If it isn't the main focus though, and just helps it with a few extra points to get to #1, I could be for it though.

Post started the decade off with the beautiful downtempo-rock leftover from "Hollywood Bleeding" that played throughout 2020. But ever since "Circles" went recurrent and all the vibes faded away, his career has been in a massive decline, struggling to return back to the superstar artist he was in the Late 2010s. I fear his fall off is even worse than Katy. He's just lucky he attained the name recognition to have the radio(pop radio specially) play any single he releases now.

Yes. There are even Kpop playlists and Kpop has no issue charting in the global charts on AM. Cupid did enter in the US Top 100. Not sure about NewJeans though. But I think the AM audience is more hiphop oriented so pop does worse there so more niched pop genres like kpop would just suffer because of this.

I always forget Thinkin' Bout Me. I can see this too. I think Neon Star is the safest though. It's the perfect follow up to Last Night because it starts off with the reference to a slamming door like in Last Night. It's also a cute midtempo with a sing along chorus.. and it's like him wishing the girl from Last Night would come back.

Well ironically, Circles basically marked the beginning of his downfall despite being his biggest chart hit. You could say the same thing about Dark Horse...

The thing with the Post-Katy Perry parallels though is that his first 3 albums are still charting well. He was never *just* a singles artist and his album tracks got a lot of attention. In July 2016, only Teenage Dream was charting (180s), while in July 2023, Post has all four of his albums charting.

I do think the biggest issue was him leaning more into the AC sound than trap/hip-hop, along with the latter not being the top genre anymore among the GP. The pandemic also changed the sound landscape quicker than anyone anticipated.

Regardless, it doesn't seem like he personally cares as much now about success, although it's clear his label still does with all the promotion they've been doing (to not very effective results)

I don’t think Posty is comparable to Katy’s run although there are some similarities. People think that TCT was a flop when it charted 2 established Top 10 hits, both of which were in the top 30 of last year’s YE list. Now yes in comparison they weren’t mega smash hits as were the singles of mainly his last 2 eras were, but they were still hits. Maybe this time with this era he doesn’t get a top 10 hit and those days might be over for him but i think he’s still more than capable to pull off minor hits that do make year end lists for the near future at least.

I bet we're going to get over 10 remixes for that one song by the end of the week. It seems like Big Hit generally wants this to hit #1, and with website sales gone now their trying other ways. Either way, "seven" will be sent to radio on Tuesday. If this flops on radio then it seems like the gp don't want BTS, nor either member leading the credit on their singles.

This is exactly it. But I think his own style of genre-bending can be found in some elements of popular country music today.

The "Dial Drunk" remix could be his way back in though.
