If it is prolonged - Nashville will carry it. Can't ignore $$$
If it is short lived like we think it is - I wouldn't worry about it

no I donβt think these numbers will continue because I donβt see this as some organized movement by some rabid fandom . It was merely a reaction to an event and it will taper off. Wonβt be surprised if Nashville ends up backing this up, and it starts increasing in radio and streams. If that were to happen, then expect this to top the Hot 100 for 5-13 weeks. its radio increase will be purely in some country stations because nobody else is going to touch this . Will be interesting to see if sales and streaming hold up . I donβt see it but hey Iβve been wrong many times before

Not in a zillion years will big city pop stations pick it up as a crossover hit.

if this sales margin continues this tracking week itβll probably be 1 again then next week i could see a battle between K-POP i think the album + physical sales if shipped out would be enough to put travis on top

I don't think Country radio will pick it up the Jason song because of the fact it's very politically charged.
To me this is just the right-wing version of "This Is America". It'll have a huge 2-4 weeks out of publicity/shock value, then it'll dissipate.

I donβt think any of us were expecting all this chaos to happen last minute. It would be insane if all of this still doesnβt knock Last Night off #1 for good.

A lot depends on how opportunistic Jasonβs team is in milking this . If they decide they donβt want this story to die and go away then I expect a lot more promotional shenanigansβ¦ Sigh !!!

But the thing is country being such a huge genre has universally been ignored by CHR for years until this year. I just find it a bit odd to be honest, because there have been some country songs over the years with real pop influence that could have done damage on mainstream. I don't get why it has been ignored till now. I love country music. I'm not saying all country songs would fit CHR, which is true, but it shouldn't be generally discarded cause there are some really good songs that would fit right in on CHR. And I wouldn't say country completely depicts growing up poor in rural areas in America. It's just a genre that connects with people in different parts of this big country. Country songs are written in a story format from what I gather, and it's very descriptive music. I have mixed thoughts here. Obviously, there are catchy, heavily pop-leaning songs that have streaming/sales numbers to reflect universal resonance (stuff like Last Night, You Proof, Forever After All, and sadly, Fancy Like) that clearly deserve to be treated as massive hits by pop radio. It's also worth noting that some of these artists - Morgan and Luke in particular - ARE pop stars in certain parts of the United States. So pop radio's hesitance to play all their singles (let alone their most accessible ones) is surprising. But, one of the problems is that a lot of the heavily pop-influenced singles really just come across as "diet pop songs." These are the ones that tend to actually get pop or Hot AC pushes, but why would pop radio listeners get excited about someone with a slightly worse voice singing a song that is slightly less catchy with slightly worse production than the stuff being released by actual A-list pop talent? I've always maintained that the stuff that sounds DIFFERENT would have the best chance at actually crossing over. Stuff that isn't being done BETTER by your Justin Biebers and Harry Styleses. I'm incredibly confident that something like Chris Stapleton's version of Tennessee Whiskey would have been far more resonant with a mainstream-pop audience than whatever random Parmalee song is being promoted. I see what you're saying.. we shouldn't ignore A List pop talent, but we also shouldn't be crammed with a bad release when it comes either. I just wanna see all genres do well. It's the Billboard hot 100.

Billboard reports Jason finished the tracking week with 227K in sales Isnβt that like 290 points right there?

If the country resurgence continues, all I hope is to get another Need You Now or You Belong With Me, 10/10 country songs with a heartbroken / heart-warming tone, respectivelly

It's been rap, pop, latin, R&B, Kpop, country and dance dominating the charts recently.
Guess it's been a fair game over the past few months?

Travis, Weeknd and Bunny's song still at #4 on Apple Music, which is good but maybe not as good as one could've expected? With those names it should've gone #1 already. Let's see how much it smashes on Spotify and its longevity.

Let's see how much it smashes on Spotify and its longevity. I think it makes sense why itβs only there. Last Night, that Jason song and fukumean are the songs above it and theyβre all very competitive with each other as well, putting up quite a fight. Maybe itβll go #1 by tomorrow but lets see how it does as the reception of the song is mixed right now.

Billboard reports Jason finished the tracking week with 227K in sales Isnβt that like 290 points right there? If I'm not mistaken, I think the sale divisor since the new formula has been /10 so I assume it has 227 points from sales alone, which already gets it close to the top of the charts.

Biggest sales weeks this decade: Anti-Hero 327k Dynamite 265k Like Crazy 254k Butter 243k this thing 227k Dynamite 182k Butter 154k Dynamite 153k Dynamite 150k (ish. Some weeks include CDs and some don't IG? BB is sometimes a bit opaque.)
I'd kinda thought this would just be BTS & sometimes Taylor territory going forward. Mmm.

Be fr, Taylor is only #1 because people thought buying it on the website would help them secure tickets lmao, there was a massive rumor about it. People were NOT buying Anti-Hero just to get it #1, like Willow struggled to get even 60K... she will not appear on this list again if she continues to release singles with the albums instead of prior.

"K-Pop" is doing pretty weak on Apple Music, YouTube, and iTunes so far geesh. We can rule out a #1 debut at this point.
Spotify will likely be a bit better and it might debut #1, but I'm also expecting the day 2/3 numbers to be a heavy drop.
Yet another case of a superstar collaboration failing to live up to the names on paper.

12 songs above 1M on US Spotify with no album bombs. When was the last time that happened? β’ K-Pop #1 with 2.1M, only peaked at #4 on Apple Music though β’ Dial Drunk 1.5M combined, not sure if playlist impact or if it's genuinely stable, should surge the top 15/20 β’ Last Night slightly up in streams from last Friday, not going anywhere soon β’ Small Town up 19%, sales likely collapsing given they fell on Thu despite a 120% increase on Spotify

Seems like my guess that NewJeans is gonna have more impact than the Barbie Soundtrack was true unless the Barbie Soundtrack grows throughout the week (which may or may not happen idk).

These three artists collabing and opening with "only" 7.2M streams on Spotify is honestly insane. A few songs on Travis' album will surely debut higher.

Yeah with the way kpop is doing so far Travis probably stand a better chance for a #1 with something else from Utopia next week honestly everything on utopia is probably going to be way less generic than kpop so this might have been his best chance at #1 Travis got Sicko Mode, a 3-part, 5 minute long song without a chorus to #1. With that said, this is probably the biggest underperformance on Spotify that I can remember. The credits on this song on paper should have gotten it to #1 and made it challenge for biggest debut OAT in the US. The only bigger collab than Bad Bunny x The Weeknd that I can imagine would be Drake x Taylor Swift. But that's fitting, given the state that rap is in the US rn commercially. I do think Utopia will do much better than Pink Tape but yeah it won't be breaking any records.
