random statsnumber of Radio top 40 songs charting on Apple Music and/or Spotify top 200 (on 10/23 every year): 2023 22/40 2022 26/40 2021 28/40 2020 32/40 2019 31/40 Before it was basically impossible to be in the top 20 of radio without charting in the top 200 on Spotify and/or Apple Music, currently we have 8 songs (Need A Favor, What It Is, Used To Be Young, Try That In A Small Town, Thinkin' Bout Me, God Gave Me A Girl, Watermelon Moonshine, Stars Like Confetti). To be fair, Taylor has been so dominant with her entire discography over the last year (which is increasing rapidly due to the TVs), not to mention numerous big album bombs recently (Drake/Bad Bunny etc) that it's likely fairly skewed? I'm honestly looking forward to when the current Taylor era ends/dies down (likely won't be until 2025-2026?) so that her songs can start falling out of the top 200 on spotify to give new releases/music a chance.  |

There's some very early indications that she has started work on TS11 so I'd advise that new music to do better on it's own instead of relying on popular act's stuff dying because the Taylor invasion is not ending anytime soon. Even then we have people like Drake and Nicki that drop so much stuff that they can't help but crowd the charts with ease.

 what do you guys think the promoted single is? my guess is style TV cus she wasnt able to push it properly during 1989's original release cus she had to tend to her moms care.. swifities just have to stream & buy a different song other than this one in the first week and there could be a chance to bag 2 #1s from 1989TV |

It sounds like the fans are planning to mass-buy & mass-stream Slut! upon release. It's supposedly uptempo, and following Cruel Summer, I'd imagine they go for something softer and slower for the fall/winter season.
So... Say Don't Go maybe?
As much as I love, LOVE Style (it's definitely in my top 3 from her), I just can't see her re-promoting a song that already hit #1 on Pop.

She won’t repromote an old single or even an album track. She proved that with Speak Now TV.
I’m used to supporting Sluts! in my daily life, so what’s a few more dollars on iTunes compared with that?

No way they will go backs and promote any of the OG 1989 songs. There’s little room for longevity since the general public are too familiar and they will burn quicker.
It sounds like she will heavily push a single to radio and hopefully have a MV to release alongside it. My hope is that she releases two singles back to back (first single and MV week one, second single and MV week two) but I’m excited that she’s at least pushing one!

Unless one of the songs takes off a la "All Too Well," I don't know if I'd see 1989 having a particularly long shelf life (as a current "era". I think it has potential to be the best-selling TV so far and will probably remain a staple on the album chart [tho all her albums are album chart staples so that's not exactly a 'prediction' lol]). All that said, I almost wonder whether there might be something else planned (new album, another TV) for later in Q1 2024 or the Spring.

She is probably releasing a music video and a decent radio push for a vault track like Cardigan and Willow got, yet the main focus is still on the album. Should bag a #1 but unlikely to be pushed as a global smash hit like Anti Hero. Think somewhere between “I Can See You” and “All Too Well”.

I think some of you are really underestimating how well 1989 TV could perform. The hype and the performance of each succeeding TV keeps building (her hype and performance in general has kept building over the last couple years to the highest it's ever been in her career), so that, combined with this not only being her first pop TV, but also her highest performing album when it was originally released, I really think it has the potential to blow everything out of the water and perform like a regular era, with at least one major radio single, but possibly more if they choose to push them. At the very least, it has a good chance of beating the original's opening week (1.287 million), but I'm predicting possibly Midnights' (1.57 million).

I think Reputation (TV) is going to surprise us because the GP was so harsh on her at that time and didn’t give the album a fair chance. As a Reputation girlie I have faith that Getaway Car and IDSB will hit hard this time around, not to mention the vault tracks. I can see it hitting a million opening weekend if she pushes as hard as she did with 1989 (TV). |
