Isn’t that a liability given those songs are only available via album purchase? Or is it just mp3 download links that can’t be posted? Genuinely asking.

She now has three different songs in the top 10 of the AC chart, all from different eras. Is that some sort of record?

Yup, the AC chart is at a snail's pace but still, to have 3 Top 10 songs from different eras at AC Radio at the same time is a big deal.

To be fair, it didn't chart until 2022. So it's not that much "older" than Anti-Hero from a charting perspective.

TTPD has officially notched another record—by entering its 12th consecutive week atop the Billboard 200, it becomes the longest-running #1 of Taylor’s career, she breaks Whitney Houston’s record to become the only female artist to spend this long atop the chart from Week 1, and ties with Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time as the two overall albums with the second-most consecutive weeks atop its #1 debut in the chart’s history: www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/taylor-swift-career-best-12th-week-number-one-billboard-200-tortured-poets-department-1235730713/She did this with 163,000 units. When is the last time we have seen an album pull 6-figure sales numbers (or higher ) for 12 consecutive weeks?! I certainly can’t remember the last time I saw that. Next up is Week 13—which, if achieved, would tie her with Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life as the two albums with the most consecutive weeks at their debut atop the chart. The billion dollar question is: will she achieve it? Will Eminem be able to end Taylor’s dominant reign on top this week? Will we get more variants? I’m certain she’s well aware that we’re encroaching upon new chart records on the 13th week—there’s no way she doesn’t pull something out of her sleeve.

She could release it as a Double Album to get that record.

^ She’s technically already done that, with The Anthology half being on streaming. Unless you mean physicals of that half of the album, and giving us complete editions on CD and vinyl. In that case, I agree that she’d have the overall record in the bag. I really do think it’s coming soon, too. I’m sure she sees how beneficial it would be for her to release the complete double album physically.

"I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" has been sent to Italian radio this week, which means that this is going to be the next track to be properly pushed from the album. A standalone 2-track single release with the explicit and clean version of the song alongside the instrumental is out on DSPs now.

Sidenote: OMG Sia's Unstoppable is still there The more eye catching thing is Flowers *still* being #1 there. I know it was a massive smash and all, but it was released 18 months ago and went recurrent on the Hot 100 nearly 4 months ago now. It's been #1 on AC for well over a year at this point. Absolutely absurd lol.

I'm only just noticing that Cruel Summer is back to being her top streaming song on Global Spotify. Currently sitting at #20 with Fortnight at #23 and Broken Heart at #54.

Not TTPD related but is there any reason why she never sent Midnights for 6x certification, Anti Hero for US certification, Lavender Haze, Karma, or any other songs? I'm confused. Did she run out of space in her trophy room or something? Lol

NYT just did a ranking of all her albums citing Rep and Speak Now as her best. Anyone have the full list?

NYT just did a ranking of all her albums citing Rep and Speak Now as her best. Anyone have the full list? What odd choices. I could maybe see the argument for Speak Now 5 years ago, but Reputation? Don't get me wrong, it's a good album, but that back half (aside from "Dress" and "Call It What You Want To") takes it down quite a bit for me in terms of her overall ranking.

Truth be told, I’m about as big a swiftie as one gets. And I loved her from the start (I remember a co-worker telling me about this “new girl and she writes her own songs and they are so good and she’s from PA too”), and worship almost all her output. Ive never listened to Evermore all the way through. And have no desire to.

I think I mentioned this here before but for me personally, we already had Folklore and Evermore just felt like Folklore 2.0 which I didn't need.

One of the most interesting things about Taylor is that almost all of her albums (outside of debut), you’ll find a rabid fanbase declaring a particular album is her magnum opus. “Speak Now” and “Reputation” are both at the very bottom of her discography for me (SN dead last with Rep only above debut and TTPD for me). Taylor has created such a large, diverse discography that nearly everyone has something to latch onto based on their taste.

Evermore has such high highs and low lows for me.
The first 5 tracks are airtight and some of the best things she has ever done. Gold Rush and 'Tis the Damn Season will forever live in my TS Top 5. But I don't have much use for the latter 2/3 of the album, with the exception of Ivy and Long Story Short. I'm glad Marjorie exists but it's not something I can listen to regularly.
But then you get to Right Where You Left Me which is as strong as the first 5 tracks.

Evermore has such high highs and low lows for me. This is exactly right. "Right Where Your Left Me" and "Champagne Problems" are some of her best work ever, but much of it sounds like "Folklore" b-sides.

I always wonder how people would think of evermore and folklore if they were released in that order instead. So many of y’all consider evermore to be a bunch of B-sides to folklore. If folklore came second, would you think of it as B-sides to evermore? To each their own, and everyone’s tastes are unique ( zaclord 🌈 explained that perfectly about Taylor’s discography as it pertains to our individual tastes), but that is a genuine question I have. Like…if evermore came first, would she have all the acclaim and the Grammy for AOTY instead? It’s wildly interesting to me. I have to be perfectly honest, folklore is an album that I have eventually found over the years to be a chore to listen to sometimes, particularly at the back end. The album is great, but I find that I have to really be in the mood for it, and rarely reach for it these days. evermore, on the other hand, just continues to age perfectly well for me to the point that I even love “closure,” a song that I used to describe on Pulse as the one song that tainted an otherwise perfect record. Turns out that the album is perfect for me, and will likely go down as my top favorite TS album of all time (and one of my all-time favorite albums period). I kinda have a soft spot for it, lol.

Evermore could have been a double album with Folklore - or the Anthology portion of TTPD could have been a separate album like Evermore was.
I think Evermore was a solid followup to Folklore, obviously to exist as part of the same universe so it'll always be viewed as the second instalment. Had Evermore come first, I wonder if Folklore would have been seen as the lesser album. In any case, this comes up a few times a year when we all revisit our feelings of the two. There's little I would change with either album. They were perfect moments during an imperfect time!

I just can't believe it's been 4 years since she surprised us with folklore. It doesn't feel that long ago and at the same time, pandemic lockdown feels a lifetime ago.
