Wow this is super 80’s sounding. I really like this on first listen.

So fuxking boring, there are so many songs in the second half of the album that are way better choices as singles

Unpopular opinion? This is one of my favorite Taylor songs off the bat. That overarching synth is killer. It's giving Chromatics / Drive Soundtrack vibes. Taylor's delivery reminds me of Lana and it really works. And that bridge is so pretty!

But it's not your fault Chromatica wasn't too well written.

I've just started listening to the (first half of the) album. This was so underwhelming for me on initial impression.

It has such a chill vibe and I can see it doing well as we move into the warmer months.

idk...this is fine, but easily her weakest lead single, I even like ME! more - that song at least had something going on and the verses were good.

I hope there is a Posty remix with additional vocals but they sound nice together in the limited amount. Think it will be big

It's a bit curious for a lead single for me, but I love it just as an album cut. Like @azpaynter I was pretty underwhelmed with the first half of the album (including this track), but after about 4-5 full listens, I've really settled in.

Ok, I somehow found myself on Swiftie twitter yesterday and the responses were WILD. Apparently, fans do not like this single choice, but there were ENTIRE THREADS about how they "need" to support Taylor no matter what and to "not" stream other songs on the album more than this one because this needs to be a hit even if they don't "agree" with her choice. That loving someone means supporting them UNCONDITIONALLY and you are a fake fan if you don't. It was unhinged dramatics and panic and it REALLY made me miss being young and really passionate about a music artist I loved lmao. God, I remember doing that shit with the Backstreet Boys LOL.
The biggest surprise about this song is how great Post Malone sounds. Dare I say better than Taylor herself on here. Reminds me of Been Like That where I somehow feel like fast forwarding for T Pain's part instead of Meghan's.

Ok, so after listening to the album a bit more, I do think this is actually one of just 3 potential hits. So I’m less confused by this as the lead now. Though I think I Can Do It With a Broken Heart is the “insurance” instant hit, and a good single edit of But Daddy I Love Him is where it’s really at for the album. But this is oddly catchy, I will say that.
Emphasis on oddly since it’s not really due to any hook necessarily. Yet this is the song that was in my brain when I fell asleep last night I must admit. It’s weird though, since this song sonically and especially vocally kinda reminds me of the musical equivalent of being drugged/heavily medicated… but in catchy pop song form. I think they were literally going for that on purpose given the lyrics, but I’m not sure I can call it “enjoyable.” I’ll be interested to see what happens with this. It’s a very unusual one for sure.

yep nice little track and totally on the level of this Swift girl´s whole catalogue - musically extremely average and MOR and vocally she is really nothing special. What is her hype about? Never understood...

Never understood... There is nothing "middle of the road" about this woman's musicality and people who say that clearly don't have a good grasp on the art/creation of music. She's arguably one of the best songwriters of her generation. Her topics or style of writing may not be everyone's taste and I completely understand that, but I'm so tired of people acting as if she merely happened upon or was luckily gifted her position and success through no talent or hard work her own. You simply don't get to be an artist her caliber without being talented. It reminds me of when I've seen people say "she's only successful because she's white" or "Kanye made her famous". Like, complete and utter nonsense, even objectively speaking.

A lot of stations are playing this as well as "My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys" Eww why, that one’s so basic. And I say that having expected that one to be the smash of the album prior to listening.

Antonoff's product? Ok now I see some delusion. You're aware she was writing hits and great songs long before Antonoff? She has always been a singer-songwriter. These are absolutely the completely dismissive and absurd takes I'm talking about with absolutely no basis in objective reality and play like the taunts of a hater.

Yeah, let’s not get carried away here. I would 100% agree with anyone who said all but like 1 or 2 of these 31 ttpd songs would be flopping hard if released by literally anyone except her (possibly including this one), but she’s certainly no one’s “product.” She’s one of the most involved artists in the whole industry in terms of her part in her song creation process.

This to me still feels like an album track rather than a single but it's growing on me super fast. I liked it from the get go but I can kind of see why they thought this could potentially be a single in an album that doesn't really have that many singles.

Now I’ve heard it all. TTPD release week has already been rough on the anti Taylor crowd, best of luck the next six days!

Nice visuals - made me like the song a bit more, especially the outro.

One of her best videos. The fact that I didn’t say her best video is nothing but a testament to her videography. It’s right up there with the videos for Anti-Hero, Blank Space, LWYMMD, and ATW for me.
She’s really improving as a director. And she was already great IMO.

Video elevated the song for me a bit, even if it's kind of similar to Lavender Haze in that it really needed a stronger emphasis and focus on some sort of plot to make it come together a bit more.
Can we make Posty a bigger deal again? I can't help but love him lol

Really like the video. Loved the scene of her wiping her face with Post's tattoo's showing on her face and him not having any. And the hug was so cute.
This is definitely one of my favourite tracks from the album and really glad they're pushing it as the lead single!
