Well I’ve already argued it, so won’t harp, but I really do think they were 2 bad single choices. Thats what happens when you have bad single choices. Katy has probably the most insane CHR smash streak ever, and even she started majorly underperforming on the format the moment she chose bad singles.

I'm surprised this didn't become a huge hit. It's one of her catchiest songs ever (and most immediate for me personally) and felt perfect for the summer. It feels like promo isn't a big factor this era and the public moved on to the "new girls" but Ariana is still a star, so...

Gotta agree here. I was pumped for the remix and liked it on first listen, but I honestly can't say that I ever revisited it much after the initial release. Never really been into her more R&B tracks and this wasn't much different. She just does pure pop so well... I wish she would lean back into it more. Not sure it really would have mattered either way, but "Supernatural" (with or without Troye) would have been my preference. That chorus is so euphoric to me.

That said, I'm surprised this didn't plummet catastrophically a month ago. Somehow has managed to linger in that 11-20 region since July despite poor streaming and sales.

Totally agree. I wish they would’ve released “bye” instead but too late now. Plus her third singles (after ME) have always had front-loading issues anyway so it’s no biggie.


(Of course, if you go strictly by streaming numbers the third single should’ve been “intro”! But yeah… no one could figure out how to release that. Unfortunately her team didn’t see my suggestion to release it along with “bye” lol.)

Hopefully she’s got a real Deluxe version waiting to be released sometime soon…
