Fraudulent? I was under the impression K-Pop fans were just really dedicated to getting high on the charts and made sure to buy it, and that's why we see such low streaming equivalent units compared to massive actual sales. Is it known that even those sales are indeed fraudulent?

^Basically, Billboard needed to refine its digital song sales rules to prevent mass buying from influence the charts, to restore some of its credibility. It was getting too easy to "buy" a #1 in the Hot 100 for a single week.

I mean, outpeaking Billie on the Hot 100 isn't really a huge achievement, most of her biggest hits never touched top 10: ocean eyes (#84), Happier Than Ever (#11), lovely (#64), when the party's over (#29), What Was I Made For? (#14), idontwannabeyouanymore (#94), bellyache (/).
Nonetheless, she's still THE biggest Gen Z artist, even if Hot 100 numbers don't say so.
