Anyone else feel like the Apple Music album chart makes no sense? Like how are albums with 0 songs on the top 200 above ones with 4/5? Huh?

2 songs over 3m on Spotify for Kendrick despite the 9am release. Seems like a lock for #1 unless he magically collapses

If Kendrick releases with actual promo for his next album and it has a full day of streaming Taylor's spotify record in the US isn't safe

I am still Team Drake and I don’t believe for a second Drake is over like some here want to claim. BUT I do give credit where credit is due and I haven’t heard the entire album yet. Just first 4 tracks but I will say it’s awesome and probably some of my favorite K Dot material to date.

I'm loving the bay Influence alot, one of my favorite sounds.

Either Kendrick’s numbers will stay the same or become bigger in tomorrows update.

according to Talk Of The Charts it was 7 hours which would made the top 2 songs over 9M if it had 24 hours.

It was released in the Friday morning? I don't think the US cutoff time is in the afternoon. Imagine T. Swift's opening 24hrs if that was the case.
If it was only 7 hrs in the US, it shouldn't have been able to chart in Australia and New Zealand at all and yet Squabble Up charted in both countries.

Not a Kendrick stan or anything, but it's good to see some major non-Christmas music hit the charts during the holidays! That's what I've been bemoaning a lot in recent years, that big pop artists just aren't releasing as much towards the end of year, traditionally the biggest time for pop music and when we used to see some of the biggest non-Christmas hits.

I have a question regarding Christmas songs' airplay. So, I believe they're ineligible to enter the various radio charts like Pop, AC, HAC etc but during the peak of the Christmas season they gain strong airplay on all of those formats, especially HAC and AC. Most AC stations (and some HAC ones) even switch to all-Christmas music for the entire season.
So, I know there's a Holiday Airplay chart, on which Mariah's AIWFCIY has spent a whopping 55 weeks at #1. RATCT has spent 30 weeks atop the chart and A Holly Jolly Christmas 20 weeks, with Feliz Navidad being the only other chart-topper there since 2010. My question basically is whether there's any published info about the exact overall airplay of those songs. I'm asking because they aren't included in the official AC/HAC/Pop charts, which mostly "freeze", with the actual Christmas songs receiving airplay being absent afaik. Also, if we have any info regarding their overall airplay, do we know which Christmas song has peaked with the highest AI? I would assume it'd be Mariah's AIWFCIY with something like 30M+? Or maybe even more? Thanks in advance if anyone knows anything about this!

The cutoff is same for everywhere (at midnight UTC) and the chart date refers to UTC time. That means November 22nd tracking time includes 4am to 11am November 23rd (Sydney time) data for Australia. There is no mistake from Spotify side. To put it in perspective, most new releases got 20 hours with DST and 19 hours without DST for first day in US Spotify daily charts purpose. This also explains why Christmas music peaks at December 24th charts, for instance.

My question basically is whether there's any published info about the exact overall airplay of those songs. Billboard may post them on Hot 100 article if the Christmas songs hit top 10, or in some other holiday chart related articles. Afaik there is no easy way to check the airplay for these (Gold status) songs on Mediabase.

No that's because in several countries, the "main" Christmas celebration happens on the 24th (in my country, for instance).

If Kendrick releases with actual promo for his next album and it has a full day of streaming Taylor's spotify record in the US isn't safe I’m confused. Exactly how would him releasing an album further removed from the Drake hype be a bigger album bomb than this one? I mean, unless he released a single ahead of time that was a massive smash, then I agree. But Kendrick hasn’t actually had many legit smashes

Pretty good start for a song lasting 7:30 that doesn't involve Taylor:

I mean, unless he released a single ahead of time that was a massive smash, then I agree. But Kendrick hasn’t actually had many legit smashes how exactly is this album fuelled by the Drake feud? That's very old news by now. The beef helped Kendrick permanently. Everyone now knows that he also has more accessible songs like NLU. I feel like many people write him off as too impenetrable for them before this year which always held him back a bit

according to Talk Of The Charts it was 7 hours which would made the top 2 songs over 9M if it had 24 hours. You can see the Spotify link for the album was posted in this thread at 12:00pm EST yesterday, which means it had about 12 hours of streaming on the east coast. The west coast would then have had 15 hours of streaming. I have a question regarding Christmas songs' airplay. So, I believe they're ineligible to enter the various radio charts like Pop, AC, HAC etc but during the peak of the Christmas season they gain strong airplay on all of those formats, especially HAC and AC. Or maybe even more? Thanks in advance if anyone knows anything about this! As Darkest Hour mentioned, the only data we get is if Billboard provides it for individual songs. The only ones we usually get that for are the ones vying for #1. Last year the biggest airplay week "AIWFCIY" had was 31.7 million impressions. It's been ahead of "RATCT" in airplay for years now, usually by 4 million impressions (sometimes more). Holiday music seems to be down in streaming this year, at least on Spotify. "RATCT" is down over 40% from the Friday before Thanksgiving last year. "AIWFCIY" is down around 30% and "Last Christmas" is down around 20% from last year.

It will interesting to see if this new Kendrick album can at least match the 4 debuts of its tracks in the top 10 of Hot 100 of the tracks of his previous album. The Hot 100 is weak overall and holiday songs don't seem to be that strong yet.
