I'm pretty sure it is. KNDD played it this morning, but it was at like 6 AM, so there was no way I could hear it in favor of sleeping. I'm sure I'll hear it before the day is out, though.
And this is going for adds Tuesday? Wow, that's awfully quick. Guess this is getting leaked all over the country then.

Wasn't the album supposed to be released in June or something?

Just heard it on K-Rock. Not bad, but not what I'd expect from a first single.

I like it, but I agree that it isn't what I would expect. Its very mellow, a good spring song

Where did this come from?
and
This is their lead single?
From the 31 second clip you hear, apparently, the hook which is about as catchy as 3 Doors Down's last lead single (not very catchy).
I've never been a fan of Audioslave but I admire their ability to write a good pop song. While I'm not a fan of their music, I'd rather have them have multiple hit singles than Three Days Grace. But with this, I don't know.
"Be yourself is all that you can do."
That's all he has to say? It sounds like it's supposed to be some sort of revelation; I could've written that and meant it. In fact, I could've written that hook by just saying the chorus out loud.
If this is in fact the lead single, it will hit the top ten based on their name alone. But they best have something else to maintain their status as heavyweights.

Crossover potential?
Like A Stone peaked at 20-ish on pop right? Is this capable of the same thing?

Crossover potential? Like A Stone peaked at 20-ish on pop right? #29. I doubt it, but you never know.

This is good. It may not sound all that spectacular on one listen, but I wouldn't be surprised if I wound up loving this, or at least really liking this, in a month or two's time. I really cannot wait for this album.
And I thought "I Am The Highway" was an existential masterpiece of poetry, but that's just me.

I'm dying to hear this song. Soundgarden were an awesome band, and their last album was solid through and through.

"Show Me How To Live" is their most awesome single to date, to me.
I hope we get more of that edgier material on their sophomore album. They said before it was going to be their "Joshua Tree" experiment so maybe they could produce something like what "Bullet The Blue Sky" was to U2, which is one of their edgiest songs of their career.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Sincerely, Noah Eaton Hopefully it's both hard and contemplative. That was what was so great about "Audioslave", the balance between songs like "Show Me How To Live" and "Gasoline" and songs like "Like A Stone" and "Shadow on the Sun". And I don't know if you meant by edgy "hard" or "controversial" or both, but Cornell said at the beginning he wouldn't do overtly political songs like the Rage guys did so I'd assume to not expect that here either. Not to say it wouldn't be interesting, but I just don't see Cornell doing it anyway.

Not to say it wouldn't be interesting, but I just don't see Cornell doing it anyway. No, I meant edgy as in harder-rock songs like "Cochise", "Show Me How To Live" and "What You Are". Nothing was political about "Audioslave" anyway, with the exception of "Cochise" perhaps. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

It's gonna drop May 17 according to the radio. Apparently they brought in foreign dignitaries to Los Angeles to listen to six songs from the album. I don't know, I was totally paying attention when they said that.

It's not quite what I was hoping for from a first single, but it's still pretty good. For now, I'd rate it behind their first three singles off Audioslave and ahead of the last two.

Well, it looks like it's heading straight to the top 50 this week. Haven't heard this yet, but it's fine by me because it seems that I can't take a 15 minute drive at any time of the day without hearing one of their old singles, and they had been approaching the same level of tiresomeliness as all the old Nirvana songs.

On Alternative: 416 spins 62 stations On Rock: 29 spins 14 stations On Active Rock: 219 spins 39 stations Its the fastest growing track on Alternative and Active Rock, after only 3 days of airplay I believe we were all anticipating some sort of explosive debut here. They're coming off of a debut record that generated five Top-20 hits, four of them Top 5. It looks like Audioslave may be able to have gains go four-digits at one point. Seeing that there's no real competition on the chart riht now, with Green Day possibly set to replace Green Day on top unless "BOBD" loses faster to allow a Queens or Beck default #1 (which looks possible right now, with Beck in a stronger position) Audioslave may have a shot at their first Alternative #1 ("Like A Stone" went #1 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks but didn't finish a week at #1 on Radio and Records.) Sincerely, Noah Eaton
