Kanye could be a big nom as well:
BEST NEW ARTIST ALBUM OF THE YEAR (College Dropout) SONG OF THE YEAR (You Don't Know My Name) MALE RAP SOLO (Through The Wire) RAP ALBUM (College Dropout) R&B SONG (You Don't Know My Name) RAP/SUNG COLLABORATION (All Falls Down/Slow Jamz) PRODUCER OF THE YEAR
That's eight potential categories and nine nominations if AFD and SJ both get a nom in RAP/SUNG COLLABO.

I dont see Toxic as being forgettin by the time nominations go in. The labels are also apart of the whole Grammy commitee and labels have a lot to do with getting their artists in for consideration. Saying Toxic will be forgotten is like saying "lose yourself" would have been forgotten this year and it certainly wasn't forgotten. Well, I wouldn't exactly compare "Toxic," a single format smash (double format would be stretching it), to "Lose Yourself" a multi-format smash, but I think "Toxic" will stand-out. Thanks, Ben

I don't see Britney doing that well. She is pretty much a lock for Pop Album and Pop Female nominations but other than that I think she will be snubbed. I am hoping for atleast two or three for Janet

I can see a lot of Britney fans being disappoined when the noms come out. No way is "Toxic" getting a Record or Song of the Year nom. It will, however, get a nom in either Female Pop or Dance Recording, and could win for Dance, but really, who cares about that category? MATM will be left WELL alone, and I guess ITZ will be nominated for Pop Album and that's it. Two noms and either no wins or one win in a crappy category.

I can see a lot of Britney fans being disappoined when the noms come out. Kind of like Chrissy fans were last year after they talked up her Grammy potential all year. Britney will definitely get two noms...Female Pop and Pop Album. She has the potential for more in other categories. After looking at Loretta Lynn's reviews this week, I'll be shocked if she's not in Album Of The Year. It's hands down the best reviewed album of the year thus far.

It's just award. I think the Loretta Lynn album just might end up being the best reviewed album ever, regardless of year or music genre.

I think George Michael will be a big surprise nominee this year. His album is getting rave reviews.

I think that Prince may well receive a Grammy or two for "Musicology" which will spur his album on to atleast 2X Platinum.
I think Tamyra Gray has a good chance of winning for "Best New Artist" and possibly being nominated for "Best R&B Song" for 'Raindrops Will Fall'.
Tamyra's only competition for "Best New Artist" may just be Joss Stone *I consider Delta Goodrem a outside chance for that category as she seems to be taking ages to get her album out in America*.
Clay Aiken may also win an award or two?
Would Clay be elligible for "Best New Artist''?

However, Kimberly Locke could get a nomination for 8th world wonder for best pop vocal performance.

I think Alicia could end up winning the most again; but there are some albums due out later this year that may rack up Grammys: Anita Baker, namely. She's a Grammy favorite, and favorites only lose when they're up against another favorite.

The Female Pop Vocal Performance category has far too many likely nominees for Kim Locke to stand a chance, IMO (and not that it matters, but it is a terrible live song for her -- she has yet to deliver an in-tune version of that song). You've got Christina Aguilera's "The Voice Within," Sheryl Crow's "The First Cut is the Deepest" (assuming it is eligible), Norah Jones' "Sunrise," Britney Spears' "Everytime," Sarah McLachlan's "Stupid" or "World on Fire," whatever Dido's next single is, Avril Lavigne's "Don't Tell Me" (unless she submits it in Rock, for whatever reason), Gwen Stefani's first single (which could also go Rock) -- I think these all stand a far better chance.
I think Clay Aiken is going to get a push for a nom in the Male Pop Vocal Performance category for "Solitaire." Seal could compete with "Love's Divine." John Mayer's "Clarity" has a shot here, and maybe something from Jason Mraz, although I doubt it, given the fact that he was snubbed last year when his buzz was strongest.
Best New Artist -- Kanye West, Joss Stone, and Maroon 5 will get nominations, assuming Maroon 5 is considered eligibile. I think Gretchen Wilson needed to debut at #1 to solidify her BNA nom, but if she can follow up her first single with another hit, she should get in here. Hard to say who will take the 5th slot.

Tamyra's not getting nominated for anything. If anything, Fantasia would get into Best New Artist, not Tamyra.

If Kelly didnt get a best new artist nomination, Fantasia doesnt have a chance.

If Kelly didnt get a best new artist nomination, Fantasia doesnt have a chance. I didn't say she would, but she's got a better shot than Tamyra. Plus, Fantasia's already got more acclaim than Kelly ever did.

I dont really see any of the idol contestants as being real contenders for the Grammys other then a nomination here or there. They are all too pre packaged to be taken seriously right now.

I would be surprised if Clay Aiken didn't get a nomination for "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance" for 'Solitaire'.

I think Usher will win 4 Grammys for:
"Record of the Year" for 'Yeah', "Best R&B Album" for 'Confessions', "Best Male R&B Performance" for 'Burn', and "Best Rap/Sung Collaberation" for 'Yeah'.
Norah will prolly win 2 Grammys for:
"Best Pop Vocal Album" for 'Feels Like Home' and "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" for 'Sunrise'.
Alicia Keys will prolly win 2 Grammys for:
"Best Female R&B Performance" for 'You Don't Know My Name' and "Best R&B Song" for 'You Don't Know My Name'.
Hopefully Delta Goodrem gets her album out in America before the Grammy deadline.....

Best male pop vocal performance George Michael - Amazing Best Female pop vocal performance Britney Spears - Toxic BEST DUO/GROUP POP VOCAL PERFORMANCE Black Eyed Peas, "Hey Mama" I don't know if the Grammy voters respect Britney all that much so I can see Norah Jones getting that "Best Pop performance" instead. I agree that George Michael has a very good chance of picking up a Grammy.

I agree that George Michael has a very good chance of picking up a Grammy. Britney was nominated in this category twice for 2 songs that were not equally as good as Toxic, so i think Britney definately stands a good chance. if they respected her enough to vote her into the final nominations for "oops i did it again" and "over protected" then she is probably the strongest contender with "toxic" for this category.

Hopefully Delta Goodrem gets her album out in America before the Grammy deadline..... Usher's a lock for several noms and at least a few wins, he's become a Grammy favorite over the last two albums (especially the last) and it's just bound to happen. Alicia potentially will have some really stiff competition from last quarter releases, if they slip in under the cut off dates.

I have this icky feeling Usher will be the Beyonce of the 2005 Grammies and win for most of the awards he'll be up for (and mark my words, they will be a lot). I also have a feeling he will win album of the year. Darn! And Britney don't deserve jack! >:(
