ROFL! Some of you guys are deluded. Britney will get hardly any noms, nevermind win. They constantly struggle to maintain their reputation, especially after Milli Vanilli, and wouldn't risk throwing it away. Besides, she can't even win a VMA. They already through away their reputation when they gave beyonce and justin grammy's they didn't deserve

Bjork's Medulla could be nominated for something since it came out before the cutoff date, although I'm not sure what it could be nominated under

LMAO. yes they are. especially Alicia Keyes. Clearly you don't know the different between Contemporary R&B Album and R&B Album. There is NO WAY Alicia goes Contemporary. That category is reserved for albums with a heavy Hip-Hop influence throughout the entire album. Alicia's album is R&B and Soul, with no rap cameo's or anything.

There's no committee sorting this out, it's all how the labels want to submit the artists. It's a crap shoot.
I kept both Jill & Alicia out of the traditional vocal categories because their previous nominations have been in the Female R&B category. The R&B album category division is so recent, that it's difficult to tell where they'll go.

The R&B album category division is so recent, that it's difficult to tell where they'll go. There actually is a committee that checks all the submitted material to make sure it is in the right category before the primary ballot is released. I remember it was this committee that moved Sade's "By Your Side" from R&B to Pop. And I totally agree with Alicia and Jill in Female R&B catergory. But I actually think both of those ladies have a good chance to get nominated in both of those categories. "If I Ain't Got You" will definitely go R&B Female and "You Don't Know My Name" will most likely go traditional.

Hmm...I'm not too sure about Grammy stuff, or about nominations, but I'm going to name a few artists/songs/albums who are likely to win something. Joss Stone. (Most likely Best New Artist) Maroon 5. (Ditto) JoJo. (Ditto, although she doesn't have anywhere near as good a chance as the other two) Ryan Cabrera. (Ditto) Norah Jones - "Feels Like Home". Sarah McLachlan - "Afterglow". Dido - "Life For Rent". Brandy - "Afrodisiac". Usher - "Confessions". Alicia Keys - "The Diary Of Alicia Keys". Avril Lavigne - "Under My Skin". Evanescence - "My Immortal". Britney Spears - "Toxic". Vanessa Carlton - "White Houses". (Most likely not. :'() Sheryl Crow - "The First Cut Is The Deepest". I can't think of anymore for now...

it must be her stunning reviews that make you think that. I don't need reviews to tell me what I like. Some of us with our own minds aren't as easily influenced by critics we don't know. But the reason I think she will get nominated is because it's the number one R&B album in the country, and she had the second biggest song of the year. Seems like her chances are pretty good to me.

A number one album does increase an artist's visibility and increases their chance for a nomination.

A number one album does increase an artist's visibility and increases their chance for a nomination. it doesnt increase their chances if the albm is pure crap and if the critics hate it. You can pretty much take a look at critics reviews and get a feel for which albums will be nominated. It doesnt mean you cant think th ealbum is good based on your own personal opinion, but i dont think you personally get to vote on the nominees.

Music critics aren't voting members of NARAS. they dont have to be. But critically acclaimed records favor at the Grammys.

I don't think Ciara has much of a chance. Maybe Rap/Sung collabo.

Is Kelly Clarkson for "Breakaway" eligible?
Is it a joke to even consider that? I know "Miss Independent" was nominated last year, so I have to think that Kelly could maybe get in for Female Pop Vocal.
But I suppose there is too much competition for this song to get nominated. Just a thought.
