Wow...Yeah, very Hybrid Theory, but I like it. Does Chester say "heck" or "f**k"? I remember in the good old days they said cursing in songs was just distracting... I haven't heard the clip, but the CD is parental advisory. And I remember one of the songs do have the word fuck in it.

That was only 30 seconds long, but it had every single modern rock cliche in the past 5 years. Terrible. They've created every single modern rock cliche in the last five years. You do have a point there...but in Linkin Park's defense I'd say it was more between the Limp Bizkits and Crazy Towns of the world.

it will remains at n.1 for a lot of weeks Papa roach - forever growing very good but 500 plays under..are a lot! plain white's - Hey There Delilah too, but if LP doen't start to lost a lot of plays (maybe when release the new single) it will never be n.1 RHCP - Hump De Bump is growing really good but i don't think it will be an other n.1..top5 NIN - Capital G..could be a n.1 but in 7-8 weeks at least.
will broke the record of 16 weeks (scar tissue-it's been awhile, boulevard of broken dreams) at n.1???

I've now heard the album in its entirety. Very unimpressed. If your going to take a 4 year hiatus then you better come up with better songs than this.

I think it's good that I wasn't all stoked about this albums coming.
I know anything the Smashing Pumpkins produce will be better than this [LP] album. Uh-oh. Jinx...

I got the legit torrent. the album is nothing amazing. RapRock is long gone but this band was one of the best at what they did. why try and kill what they do best?
Good Songs: In Pieces, Bleed It Out & No More Sorrow... the rest may grow on me but right now, yawn

I'm not liking the reviews!
I promised myself I would not download albums that I was buying even to sample, and I'm not.
I hope this isn't a letdown.

I heard "Given Up" on my active rock station yesterday, and holy crap... Chester's scream toward the end is edging into Maynard territory.

I hope this isn't a letdown. its a letdown if you liked the linkin park of old. there are some okay songs... Bleed it out. Given Up. but i would have liked to have them continue their old style. this one isnt worth 4 years of waiting.

its a letdown if you liked the linkin park of old. Correction. It's a letdown if you only wanted the Linkin Park of old. I love Linkin Park's albums, and I'm not disappointed with this album. Of course, I was also expecting something massively different, so I'm less taken aback by this album, even though I am still very surprised and I think it will take some getting used to. I think Mike does a fair job singing. I'm actually quite impressed and I wish he had sung on more songs. I wish he had been on more songs period, actually. There is a slight lack of his presence on the album as a whole, even though I know full well he raps on three songs, sings on one, and appears in various other places on guitar and backup. The only thing that does disappoint me slightly is that in order to get the diversity that they wanted, they had to sacrifice their status as a loud hard rock band. The sheer amount of sounds that they incorporate on this album don't always lend themselves to the typical nu-metal sound, which I understand and accept, but I would have liked a little more gradual of a departure. As it is, I think the only real hard songs on the album are "Given Up", "Bleed It Out", and "No More Sorrow". Anyway, my bottom line is that I like the songs and the album, but it's going to take a little time to get used to this being the new Linkin Park. I'm looking forward to the challenge. I however have a prediction. There will be a tremendous backlash to this album. I'm sure it will be well received by critics, but I think that the fans are going to hate it, simply because I'm sure a wide majority of them only want more heavy nu-metal songs. Mark my words, I think this album will either make or break Linkin Park's string of successes. If they pull this off, then they'll be golden. If they don't, then it'll prove that all they will ever be good for is a few minutes of loud angry melodic screaming.

I haven't heard the album myself, but I think people will be accepting of a more mellow Linkin Park. After all, "Breaking The Habit" was a huge hit.

Yeah but somehow, at least for me, it still felt like linkin park. What I've Done still sounded like them, although it is the blandest song I've ever heard from them and the other snippets I've heard just sounds foreign...i'm gonna give the album a listen now but I'm really worried.
