Now let's just hope "Bright Lights" loses enough spins to allow "Breathe" to make top 20... because Kelis and Outkast will pass her, but Fountains of Wayne and Nelly will fall below. No, let's not. As much as I love both songs, I don't want 'Bright Lights' to fall.

I just hope this thing dies so that they can release "Tuesday Morning", a much better song that will increase sales of Hotel Paper.

But if "Breathe" fails, "Tuesday Morning" may not do as well. I agree. "Breathe" is her most radio-friendly single and if it didn't do well, there's no guarentee that the next single will. I thought Michelle was a current staple at Pop radio, but "Breathe" has told me otherwise.

I didn't see "Breathe" as radio friendly as "Tuesday Morning" or "Find Your Way Back". It's just dull in comparison to her other songs.
("All I Wanted" is on the radio now. This song just sounds so much better than "Breathe". More upbeat I guess)
I see "Tuesday Morning" as this year's "I'm With You". The rock ballad of the winter. It should go Top 5 (if released) no matter how poorly "Breathe" does

I really feel that whatever follows up "Breathe" is going to flop.

Good news: "Breathe" is currently in the Top 20! Bad news: "Breathe" now has a bullet of +11

Anyone know what her 3rd single will be? I know everyones hoping for "Tuesday Morning" "One Of These Days" or "Find Your Way Back".
My guess is that itll be "Find You Way Back."

She's been fighting for Empty Handed to be a single so it'll probably be the next single.
I want Tuesday Morning to be a single and if they allow it, Empty Handed to be the 4th single (since she's stated that the direction her next cd will go in will be like Empty Handed)... if they don't allow a 4th single, then I would want her to be able to have Empty Handed as a single.

Find Your Way Back is the only one that sounds like a sizeable hit to me. I love it. I was never all that keen on 'Breathe'. It's so middle of the road and average. Can't fathom why everyone loved it so much. It's getting exactly the peak i'd expect a lacklustre single from a moderately big star to be getting.

I am going to say that Michelle Branch had her last Top 10 hit with "Are You Happy Now," especially if she's going more folk with her next album.

bright lights is a horrible song. the whole "come back home" theme is used in too many matchbox20 songs. they all sound the same!! push is there only really good song.

If she releases "Find Your Way Back" it sounds too much like "Breathe."
If she releases "Empty Handed" it will peak at #34.
The clear choice is "Tuesday Morning." Perfect for winter and the third single she should slow things down.
I don't know why everyone wants her followup to flop.

Oh, and maybe with "Breathe" in the Top 20, all of the stations may finally add her. :)

She should release One of These Days. Easily the best song on Hotel Paper (and that is not saying much actually).
And One of These Days sounds more "wintery" than Tuesday Morning.

"Breathe" has finally made Top 20 and it should stay there! "One of These Days" is good, but it is way too slow for Pop. "Tuesday Morning" sounds like a better choice.

Michelle is performing "Empty Handed" on Conan tonight so I'm guessing that's definitely the next single... I'm very excited about that.

They really ought to fire whoever is choosing these singles. Well, I enjoyed Michelle's first two albums. I hope her next career makes her happy. Either that or she can play free shows at Mohegan Sun with the Spin Doctors.

What;s the point of releasing a third single... Her album still has only sold less than 1M copies and she no where in the Billboard 100. This album has to be loosing Maverick money.

I expect Empty Handed to be the huge underdog hit here mainly because everyone seems to think it's destined to fail ;)
Besides, it's pretty different than most things on radio right now... sometimes, that's a good thing.

Right now, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. Overall, Madonna and Mariah Carey. Either way Michelle Branch is not one of the biggest artists right now.

What Maverick needs is resigning their youngest pop act Amanda. She gave them a respectable Top 40 hit with "Everybody Doesn't."
I think "Breathe" will soar higher with the new Maxim photos!

Michelle chose this single, I believe she made a deal with the label, that if they release "Breathe" she could release "Empty Handed" next. Maybe she actually knows what she is doing, maybe she thought "Breathe" would fail.
