I doubt it will be an "early" summer smash. It will probably peak around the end of the summer.

This is pretty dumb, IMO
If anything this should have been the 2nd single, and "This Love" released now, to be a smash over the summer
Why would you release a boring, sappy, depressing Coldplay redux over the summer? ???
It probably won't hurt it's chances on the charts, but still...who wants to be hearing this mushy stuff on the radio at the beach or while it's 90 degrees outside?

This is a great summer song and I can totally see it working. I really can't wait for this to be released. It will be just as successful as This Love. I hope that they get another chance with their next album. I would love to see these guys in the coming years.

Yea I like them, they are cool
I hope they don't become one hit wonders with "This Love", but I dont think they will
I know Harder to Breathe went Top 10 on Pop, but alot of people never even heard that song...
like my mom for example, LOVES 'This Love', but she would never know what Harder to Breathe was...
I dont think "She Will Be Loved" will have the universal appeal that This Love seems to have (ie. everyone from 14 year olds to 50 year olds liking it) so they still may be known as "One Hit wonders" to the general, non-radio following public

How the heck can a band that has had two hits be a one hit wonder? Just because one song may be popular than the other doesn't mean the less popular song wasn't a hit.

This song will cause the odds of year-end #1 to shift from This Love in favor of Hoobastank, even though I don't think it will be that big a hit.

Actually, this song is perfect for those days when it's just downpouring in really warm weather and you're out in the rain with the girl you love! There aren't enough songs for rainy summer days and this song is.

:o You cant be serious. That song was freaking everywhere. I'm with Just Be Free on this one. If 'This Love' HAD flopped, 'Harder To Breathe' would prolly be their 'Wherever You Will Go' but since 'This Love' exploded the way it did, it totally buried 'H2B' the way 'Unwell' did to 'Disease'. If they never had another major hit, I could see people throwing Maroon 5 into the one-hit-wonder group.

Except that "Disease" came nowhere near the top 5 in pop, and hasn't gotten loads of recurrent airplay. :)

Correct me if Im wrong, but didnt HTB peak at #4 and hang around for awhile as opposed to Disease which didnt even hit top 10? I have to disagree-greatly. If anyone in that country escaped that song, I would be amazed Just because one song becomes a bigger hit DOES NOT mean that all other hits, no matter how big, are automatically null and void

Thank you. I mean, I would not even call Disease a hit (maybe a very minor one) It seems odd to compare a #21 peak with a song that peaked top 5.

This song has really grown on me since I found out it would be the next single, I'm predicting another top 10 here! Number 1 may be pushing it a bit though, but I'm thinking a long chart run, peaking in September and possibly not going recurrent until after Thanksgiving, it's odd, but that's only 7 months away already!

Yeah, this song will definitely be around until around Thanksgiving, i mean that would only be around 23 or so weeks, so it may even be December. I'm sure they will release a fourth single since it's their first album, and I'm sure it will be Must Get Out...they'll want something for Holiday Sales. Anyways, I definitely see #1 on this, and Noah, yeah you're right, it could be #2 if it is behind a urban song, and the one that could take it could be Eminem or 50's new one. As far as Misteeq, that is really exploding, and I see this being the "Say My Name" of 2004.

the only thing is, I think Disease could have been just as big if Unwell was released first, Disease in the spring, and Bright Lights in the fall.

I for one disliked "Disease" strongly (it's actually the only matchbox twenty single I'd consider a bad choice) and many other matchbox fans didn't like it either. I think "Disease" would have flopped either way. "Unwell" is a better-quality track, and "Bright Lights" is even better. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

The song is already starting to heat up, people at school are already jamming to this in their cars! I'm gonna drop my old prediction of #12 and move it up to #3!

:o You cant be serious. That song was freaking everywhere. Well keep in mind I don't live in the States. I live in Canada, and here in Toronto our Pop/Top 40 station (closest thing to one) only mildly added HTB to their playlist, and very late in the game also. I only heard it on that station like 3 times, it didn't do much and was probably only forced because it was a #4 Pop hit in the U.S. Im not sure about the Hot AC stations like Mix 99.9 or Chum FM, but I'm sure it got play on that. I'm just saying, to ALOT of people I know "This Love" is their introduction to Maroon5. Alot of people, maybe it's just around here, don't even know HTB existed. But that's probably a product of being in this city, and Im sure if it was in the States it would be the total opposite. I have never even seen the video for HTB, to this day. >:(

The only time I heard "She Will Be Loved" was in a Q102 remix to "This Love".
Here's my chart run prediction for "She Will Be Loved"
R&R: 28-23-19-13-10-10-10-11-12-14-13-15-19-26-32-37
AT40: 35-21-18-14-11-10-9-13-15-18-17-16-19-22-23-21-24-27-29-33
Top 5 stations (Philladelphia and surrounding areas): IMHO 1) Mix 95-7 Adult Top 40 (0) 2) 97-5 PST Top 40 (+1) 3) Q102 Top 40 (-1) 4) Y100 Alternative (+1) 5) Wired 96.5 (DEBUT) (Rocco the Janitor)
I don't trust American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest any more than I trust the Rhythm Countdown with Ellen K. YOU are out of order.
What are U listening to? Queen f/David Bowie "Under Pressure"
