Looks like this may be in the top three by next week. It probably won't be any higher than #5 next week. - It won't leapfrog Kelly.
- It won't jump Avril or Maroon unless one of them starts losing 800-1000 or something.
- It may or may not pass Ciara, but even if she maintains a spin total of 6800 next week, Nelly/Tim would still have to hold a +1600 to +1700 bullet all the way through next Sunday.
- Even if Destiny's Child slips to +350, Nelly/Tim would still have to hold a +1500 through next Sunday.
- It's almost certainly going to pass Eminem, and will probably pass Ryan Cabrera too.
So it's plausible for a jump to #5 or #6, but not #3.

It's my favorite Nelly single since "Hot In Herre". I agree. For some reason, I'm still not sick of "Hot In Herre", maybe because I still hear the track so much in clubs. "Over And Over" is a good song...hopefully it will stand the test of time for me though. So far the only Nelly single to that was "Hot In Herre".

Yeah, God knows I never hear Country Grammar anymore. I wasn't talking about the radio, I was talking about clubs. Sure, I still hear many Nelly songs on the radio, most of which I got tired of hearing long ago. Of all his hits, "Hot In Herre" gets the most club play, especially during summer months, and I still love hearing that track, probably becuase I associate it with getting drunk with friends and having a great time.

I think Nelly and Tim McGraw harmonize great in the song.

So it's plausible for a jump to #5 or #6, but not #3. Yes, I realize that now. I thought there was a chance the song might hold onto its bullet. (they have for two weeks) But seeing as how I don't hear it on the radio that much, it's obvious now that it's not possible. I say something like a +1200 bullet next week, and up to #6.

Could Nelly have a country hit on his hands? :o :o Haha...this I'd like to see. First Urban invades the pop chart, then it takes over country. LMAO.

I love all of Nelly's safe hits. "Ride Wit Me"... "Dilemma"... "My Place"... "Over And Over"...
This one sounds a little country tho, and it has nothing to do with the artist featured.

Safe is right. Safe as in bland and cliched. I hate this song.

it is a little repetitive, but it's a decent slow jam. I too am not sure what Tim is singing, aside from the faded vocal in the chorus, and, I think, a section later on. Does he sing more?
Another example of how "official radio dates" are mere formalities- if radio is interested in a song, it will pick it up, no questions asked.

Could Nelly have a country hit on his hands? :o :o On radio-info somebody asked if Country radio would play this. If not, at least CMT is interested.

Nelly will probably get his first Hot AC hit with this one (unless "Dilemma" made it... still, this will likely become his biggest).

I agree, I don't see this getting added by more than 20 stations on the Hot AC Format, just the NuPop stations will add this, (Baltimore, Cleveland, Philly, etc.)

#3 Friday on Radio Monitor's building Top 40 chart and having a big impact on sales of Nelly's "Suit" -- here's what Billboard says this week:
"SNAPSHOTS: Nelly's "Suit" has seen two straight gains since "Over and Over," his song with Tim McGraw, took root at radio (see Singles Minded, page 56). This time it earns the Greatest Gainer ribbon with an 18% hike (5-3, 143,500 copies). With that momentum and a $9.98 sale price at Target, the album is on track to surpass 200,000 copies on next issue's chart . . . "
And from "Singles Minded":
"Farther down the Hot 100's top 10, "Over and Over" by Nelly Featuring Tim McGraw leaps 18-8 in its third week on the chart and looks to be a future No. 1. The track takes the Greatest Gainer/Airplay crown with a 22.6 million listener impression gain. The quick ascent into the top 10 matches Nelly's prior best, achieved with "Dilemma" in July 2002.
"Over" also hits the top 10 in its third week on the mainstream top 40 and rhythmic top 40 charts, setting Nelly's career best on the former and matching his fastest on the latter."
-- Billboard 10/30/04 Issue
If he goes over 200,000 next week that would translate to an 85,000 unit increase over three weeks -- that's a massive turnaround.

In comparison, "Sweat" is selling 62,000 copies a week. "Suit" has now sold 940,000 copies and "Sweat" is at 676,000 per SoundScan. Nelly has sold 1.6 million albums in 5 weeks between two albums.
Tim McGraw is also at 1.6 million sold over the counter for "Live Like You Were Dying"...over an 8 week period...however, his album does not include "Over And Over".

Dude, this song is frickin' amazing!! It shows no sign of slowing down. It's been around for two weeks, and already in the top 5? Has this ever happened before? Not even DC or Eminem could pull this off.

Universal was saying if it went No. 1 this week it would tie for the quickest climb to No. 1 at Top 40 -- anyone know what was the quickest climb?

I love this song. Pop radio has been dying to play Tim McGraw! I hope Urban picks this up so it can go to number one on the Hot 100.

It made Rick Dees excited as it made the biggest jump of the year. Moves up 19 to #20 on the Weekly Top 40

#4 and only 36 spins behind a plummeting Avril. ;) You're right about it not passing Kelly though. Well, what can I say? It didn't. It won't jump Avril or Maroon unless one of them starts losing 800-1000 or something. Avril's losing 637, so I almost covered myself on that one. It may or may not pass Ciara, but even if she maintains a spin total of 6800 next week, Nelly/Tim would still have to hold a +1600 to +1700 bullet all the way through next Sunday. She was still gaining about 100-150 at the time I wrote this, so I didn't expect her to start losing 200 within a week. Even if Destiny's Child slips to +350, Nelly/Tim would still have to hold a +1500 through next Sunday. DC's gain is down to 250, and Nelly still has a +1800. I thought it could happen, and obviously it did. It's almost certainly going to pass Eminem, and will probably pass Ryan Cabrera too. Right on with these two.
