Avril just can't catch a break. Maroon 5 is now losing more than her, and the gap has decreased to 99 spins, but she won't get #1 unless Kelly Clarkson slows down to about +250 (she's +696 right now).
Gwen Stefani is down to +427.

Let's go Avril! She'll be a weak #1 though!
Recurrent schedule, anyone?

Assuming Alicia Keys keeps up her current losses, she'll be going recurrent next week, JoJo the week after (they'll both be taken off as soon as they leave the top 20).

(I'm going to double post just this once.)
I think it's pretty obvious that Kelly will be #1 next week, followed by Maroon5, Avril, Ciara, and DC should round out the top five.
The debuts (for the top 40) should be: N.O.R.E f/ Nina Sky (Oye Mi Canto) and Lindsay Lohan (Rumors).
New to the top 20 should be JoJo and Trick Daddy.

Could someone post a couple of comparison songs whose ascent was similar to Nelly/Tims "Over and Over" #8 +2104 with audience impressions @ 42.4 million?

Could someone better explain to me how a song goes recurrent?
Thanks.

When a song is below #20 and has been in the top 50 for at least 20 weeks, it is removed from the chart and is considered a "recurrent."

Kelly Clarkson is up to #3!!! #1 by the end of the week is within her grasps! Go Finger Eleven! I must be one of the minority here that love this song and love how it sounds on the radio! Gavin DeGraw +400!! Let's keep those spins coming!

I love Finger Eleven as well! Though we may be in the minority here, it looks like plenty of others like the song as well. And it sounds GREAT on the radio.
Kelly should have an easy time taking #1 by the end of the week.

I like the Finger Eleven song too, but when it first released a year and a half ago. Now it just needs to go away.
Looks like Eminem is picking up again - hopefully the same will be true about Gwen.

For some reason, the success of "One Thing" is causing other rock or rock-sounding songs near its position to slow to a stop and then drop out of sight. Quite frankly, I'm fed up with that. >:( And combine with the fact that I don't really like "One Thing"...

And if course, it's all Finger Eleven's fault. Right.

What was the last single from a soundtrack to get to Number 1? That's what Kelly will do.

I can see that I'm the lone outcast against the collective group in this argument. Talk to me some months later, when "One Thing" is still around, and ones you like better aren't. Actually, it was "Shake Ya Tailfeather", almost this time last year.

Maybe when you said: Either you're blind or retarded. He said the SUCCESS of One Thing is causing other rock songs to drop.....he never directly said it was Finger Eleven's fault. And the song is a pile of sh*t, so he's right.

Bowling For Soup at #12 with a bigger bullet than "One Thing" and only 70 spins away. Get them, BFS!!

Wow, it looks like Ashlee's got a flop on her hands. Strange after the massive success of Pieces Of Me.

Wow, it looks like Ashlee's got a flop on her hands. Strange after the massive success of Pieces Of Me. Yeah, a top 15 song is really a flop? In that case, I guess every 11-20 peaking song by an artist with a former top 10 is a flop. I love how people are so quick to use "flop" on these boards.

I would not say its a HUGE flop. A top 15 is never a huge flop. However, after her massive airplay for "Pieces" and massive sales...I would have expected the second single to easily fly top 10. I would say this is a little disappointing for her.

Too much Ashlee was always a bad thing. How much do people really want to hear a bad singer sing? Shes cool once in a while - with her faux-rock edge - but her voice is so bad most peoples ears just can't tolerate it very often.
