If I was Tim, I'd be majorly embarrassed. He didn't want this song released as a single and yet it's become his biggest hit in 2 years. hahaha!

He must be thankful that it's not going to make it to the top. Talk about what would have been one of the most awkward "#1 parties" ever thrown by a label... As it is, it'll become his sixth career #2 song, joining Down On The Farm, Can't Be Really Gone, One Of These Days, For A Little While, and She's My Kind Of Rain, and first in 5.5 years. And with it being at least until April until his next single peaks (once again, assuming it will be a lead single from a new album, if his label allows it), it will indeed be at least two years since his last #1, and only one in the past 4.5 years.

'SMKOR' spent two non-bulleted weeks @ #1 @ R&R, and I know of no other song that has done that since I became a full-time country music listener in 1996.
'FALW', one of the very best songs Phil Vassar ever wrote, would have been a #1 single if some knucklehead by the name of Mark Chestnutt hadn't 'been looking for just one more song to add to his finished CD', as he told Bob Kingsley on 'CT40' back then.
That song, 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing', cost Tim an unprecednted sixth #1 single from his scintillating 'Everywhere' CD at R&R.
Hard to believe that someone at his label has been blowing his choices for singles left and right since 'Back When' hit #1 four years ago this week @ R&R.
Unbelievable, isn't it?

I was thinking that SMKOR hit #1 in some capacity, must've been on R&R. I would also contend that his botched single choices go back even an album further, b/c SMKOR and the awful WTWBB should never have been released over top of fine songs like Sing Me Home, All We Ever Find, and Home, just to name a few.

I wouldn't write off Tim's chances at #1 just yet. He had a gain of 160k today on Mediabase, and there was an ad in last night's Country Aircheck basically telling radio to make this #1 next week. We'll see...

You do have a point there, but the question remains whether or not 'Let It Go' can hit #1 @ Country Aircheck before Montgomery Gentry overtakes him?
This is going to be a very interesting week.
