How many spins did she get from tonight OHP? One. The phone system was down probably cuz of all the Mcphee in the studio and chatroom hype so alot of requests couldn't get through. The only reason she was played was cuz she was 'the hottest new song of the week' heh. But the requests that got through definately helped! OHP takes their requests very seriously. If your the #1 requested you'll get played like 5 times within 4 hours lol. It was great hearing John G. on OHP saying it was the most added song by far this week. :) Actually that was Research Rich from Mediabase. He gets the advanced copy of Sunday morning update and gives us the top 5 and hottest new song of the week, which "Never Again" was. Yes...I been joining OHP for too long every Saturday night, I have no life

Total's 7 day spin total is 200 higher than yesterday, which means NA received 200 more spins on Saturday 4/21 as compared to Saturday 4/14, which received 191 spins only.
So....NA received 191+200= 391 spins on Saturday 4/21 !!!!!!

I think this song could very well become Kelly's biggest charting song yet, due to the downloads and radio play.
However, I find it hard to believe this will have the lasting power of her other hits. I'm starting to grow tired of it already, and it's only been out a week. I still haven't gotten tired of her big hits from Breakaway.
Sorry to be a downer, it's just MO. I still hope this song does very well so the doors will remain open for the next singles.

I think will do one of two things:
1.) Shoot to high placements on the charts, and then begin to fall, slowly, but falling. or 2.) Start to slow down now, reach up to hot 100 top 10, and sit there for a while.

Because actually John G. said they couldn't reach Rich (by phone), so he announced the most played song himself. About the Hot 100, I really don't think the itunes sales on Friday will have much impact. The casual listener probably couldn't find it because the search didn't seem to be working for most everyone. The only reason why we did was because we had the link to the page.

The last I checked it on Friday, it was ranked #41 out of her 90 songs on iTunes. Since many of them are multiples (soundtracks, remixes), I wouldn't be surprised if she only sold a couple hundred at best.

OOOH crap so that's when my radio cut out and broadcasted our party show instead. New DJ over here on my station - blame him I got my live feed shortly after but it was already on repeat show so I missed "The Big 3" and the megamix. It was a confusing night lol but I DID hear Never Again..I just assumed Research Rich called it out as usual. Crazy night lol, hard to explain. I was in the chatroom with Mcpheever the whole time though.

I got confused with all the bullet/spin talk so I may be beating a dead horse.
I don't know about pop, but with country, when a debut single from a new album of a megastar is released, they sometimes release it in the middle of the week so that it doesn't give the false impression of a lost bullet the second week. Mega-releases explode the first day or two because of the novelty with some stations playing such songs once an hour the first 24 to 48 hours. No song can sustain that. So for a couple of days, as those first 1 to 2 days of spins move from This Week to Last Week, it might appear the song's bullet is dipping but it's a normal correction resulting from exaggeration caused by the first two days of non-stop play.
I believe it was Garth who released a new song at the normal start of the week and it debuted in the top ten on the country charts, then dropped a bit the next week, and then started its climb back up the following weeks.
I don't know if that's the case here or if this even applies to the pop world but I just wanted to mention it.

My official prediction is that this song goes to #1 for 8 weeks (which I have predicted before) with 23 weeks on the chart before recurrent. I'd say like 30 weeks but unlike Kelly's other songs, this is having a huge beginning so that will cut down on her weeks on.

At first, I loved it. I think that was both because of the song's attitude and how happy I was for new Kelly. But I'm already finding myself not loving it as much. It took months for me to feel that way about SUBG, BTHE, and BOY. Maybe my interest will go up in the future though. You never know. :)

I like your prediction Yep I like his overall thought too, I don't think this song will pull a Walk Away or BTHE in terms of longevity. What WAS Kelly's highest bulleted song? Wasn't it low 900's with Because Of You? BTHE and Walk Away were also high 800's. I don't think she's ever had 1000's, not even with SUBG. Course I'm completely disregarding Thankful songs...MI coulda had 1ks..hell even AMLT since that one didn't have longevity on airplay at all.

Billboard review of "Never Again":
Pop's ruling queen Kelly Clarkson marks her anticipated return with rough-and-ready anthem "Never Again." As with 2004-2005 staple "Since U Been Gone," America's sweetheart is mightily pissed off: "I hope the ring you gave to her turns her finger green/I hope when you're in bed with her you think of me." Lip-curling guitars and percussion lurch and lunge alongside Clarkson's uptempo rant, with multiple vocal layers and background echoes adding to the emotional torrent. The first single from upcoming third opus "My December" is guaranteed top 40's unbridled support as she maintains standing as one of the format's few sure things. No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 domination is a given. Great to have one of the best back, albeit in a disarmingly foul mood. —Chuck Taylor

I'd say more like a peak of #4, but I'd love to be wrong. See I usually do selections the way you did Reese for logical reasoning and overall corporate radio preferences however can you THINK of any 3 songs that would be a bigger force than this song? You gotta assume that since Avrils already near 6k that she won't have to fight that battle , and you gotta assume by that point P!nk will be declining as well..of course GCH's will be over and besides that the next likely canidate for competition would be Maroon 5 and Justin Timberlake and Rihanna. I highly doubt M5 and definately doubt Rihanna can stop Kelly (would be interesting to see though!) so that just leaves JT and worse case scenario that #1 so that would leave Kelly at #2. You gotta think of it like that instead of the usual random logicistic peak number. So I would say worse case scenario #2, best case #1 if I were solely depending on popularity. There really is nothing else out there right now. Can you think of a song that's below Kellys right now that would give her competition? Look at the charts...I can't see one. RCA chose a really good time in all these delays really if you think about it in a song vs song way. Anything lower than I'd say #3 and I'd blame the label..I just couldn't see this losing steam to a buncha played out '06 crap that's bearly increasing right now unless the song was truely BAD. I mean look at the trail she just blazed through, I don't think she even broke a nail with that weak competition lol: 46 24 KELLY CLARKSON Never Again 2244 494 1750 17.977 22 25 AUGUSTANA Boston 2129 2381 -252 12.766 21 26 KATHARINE MCPHEE Over It 2092 2429 -337 14.022 26 27 ROBIN THICKE Lost Without U 1999 2005 -6 13.006 20 28 OMARION Ice Box f/Timbaland 1961 2788 -827 10.342 27 29 LUMIDEE F/TONY SUNSHINE She's Like The Wind 1453 2004 -551 11.370 29 30 HILARY DUFF With Love 1280 1867 -587 8.098 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well she has no competition to hold #1 if she gets there. There are no big songs that I can see going there in that time frame. I think Maroon 5 could be up there but i cant see them stealing that spot from her. We will see.

Gym Class Heroes has been #1 with a decent spin count and their song blows.

I think once the video comes out, assuming its a good one, it will solidify this as a huge hit. Every video increased Kelly's song bullet big time on Breakaway. Plus having a video honestly helps people to like a song more. That's what happened for me on Makes Me Wonder.
