I dont see this being huge, and her off-kilter voice definitely doesnt hold the same appeal in ballads as it does in the upbeat songs. IKAG was pretty unbearable, but Hot N Cold was easily one of the best pop songs of last year, and I think Katy's vocal performance really made that song the hit that it was.

Me either, the more i hear it, the more I think she is feeding off of momentum from past singles and this will not do nearly as well. I think this era is done for her honestly.

People thought she would only be a one hit wonder and she was able to have two huge singles(charted higher than Leona, Jordin, Joe Broes and other new artists) Doon't count Katy or this song out yet.

I'm still not keen on this song. I think "One of the Boys" should have been the single. Her vocal inflections aren't any different in that song, lol. I could see her getting criticism for that one too. LOL. I think it's a good song. But I think it will peak in the 7-9 range on CHR. |

I originally thought this would flop but its REALLY growing on me. Its just nice to hear something different from Katy, and with this video and song she can show people that she can actually have a meaningful slow song become a hit.

Before that update she was 2 spins shy of the top 40, and then with this moderately smashing update (the real movement was up the top end) it was enough to boost her up there, as the songs directly above her are all coming down from their year-end countdown boost. :) |
