I just wrote up a review of it to post on the Express. Thought I'd post it here too. My Life Would Suck Without You: 10/10 Excellent pop/rock song, with an incredibly catchy chorus. Despite it being your basic formula pop, I love it. I was hooked from the first time I heard it. I love her vocals on it, and not to mention the awesome 80's drums! No one can pull off songs like this quite like Kelly can.
I Do Not Hook Up: 8.5/10 HATED the Katy demo. I really doubted that Kelly could make me like the song, but I was wrong. I love the way she sings the chorus. It's another catchy pop/rock song that should do well.
Cry: 10/10 This is truly the Because of You of this era. You can really feel the emotion in this song, much like BOY. It has a bit of country influence at the beginning and has incredible vocals by Kelly. It has the same feel that BOY has, with meaningful, catchy lyrics. Best of all, Kelly wrote it.
Don't Let Me Stop You: 8/10 The guitars sound quite a bit like BTHE at parts, which I love. Lyrically, it sounds very much like a P!nk song, which only works in its favor. Hopefully this gets released as a single down the road.
All I Ever Wanted: 7.5/10 Good song, but I'm kind of disappointed by the production of it. The vocals don't sound very clear to me, and they seem off in spots. It's still a great song nonetheless.
Already Gone: 8.5/10 This is your typical Ryan Tedder ballad, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The production, especially at the beginning, sounds way too much like Beyonce's Halo. The chorus is great, and I love the vocals, especially the echoing "already gone" at around 3:00.
If I Can't Have You: 7.5/10 I'm most disappointed with this song. Kelly's description of it got me really excited. It's not a bad song by any means - I still like it - it's just hard to get into.
Save You: 9/10 I think I listened to the Gone 'Til November demo way too much beforehand because I love it so much. I think I burnt myself out on it! I'm disappointed that it's nearly exactly the same as the demo, even the vocals sound the same, but I still like it. It has a very Grey's Anatomy type sound to it. Kelly sounds amazing on it and I love hearing "it's gonna be alright" sung by Kelly, it sounds really reassuring and comforting. LOL
Whyyawannabringmedown: 8/10 When I first heard the Aranda version, I was shocked that Kelly would record a song like that. It was way too punk rock for my taste. But it slowly grew on me and I grew to love it because it would be such a different and fun song for Kelly. You can tell she really had fun with this one. It's different, and as Kelly herself said, some will love it, and some will hate it. I love hearing her count in Spanish.
Long Shot: 9.5/10 Again, I HATED the Katy demo. It was terrible. Kelly re-worked the hell out of this song. It's now a pop/rock gem that must be released as a single down the road. This is amazingly catchy and Kelly sings it so well. I love it.
Impossible: 8.5/10 I really like this one. It's got a whole different feel to it than the rest of the album or the Tedder tracks. The production is really good, and I like the message it has. I think it's really underrated.
Ready: 9/10 I was shocked to see that it made the album. I didn't know what to expect from it - I liked the demo, but I didn't think it would belong on this album. But I must say I LOVE the popped up version. It still has the same feel of the demo but it sounds so much better with its breezy and poppy sound.
I Want You: 9/10 This song really surprised me. It has a cool 60's vibe to it that I can't get enough of. It's the most different pop song Kelly's ever done. This really represents the variety that this album has to offer.
If No One Will Listen: 8/10 It's a beautiful ballad with a great message to it. Sure it's horribly cheesy, but I love songs like that. The production on this is so much better than on the Keri Noble version, it fits the song. It's very emotional - and it's a fitting ending track.
The Day We Fell Apart: 7/10 This is an awesome bonus track, even in its presumably unfinished form. It's like a song from My December with commercial influences added in. 7/10
Overall: 9/10 The album is another outstanding effort by Kelly. It has so much variety but stays true to her pop/rock sound. It keeps a lot of elements from My December and combines it with some commercial influences like on Breakaway. Well done Kelly!
I agree 10000000000% with this review...the only thing thats not the same with me is All i ever wanted.. I LOVE IT! its prob 9/10 for me..Great Review!

B. Monroe - if you want to talk about recycled stuff being put on albums... what about "Out From Under", which was recorded by an Idol REJECT. And for the record, Joanna's vocals freaking kill the song and show what singing is all about. If you'd like for me to send you Joanna's STELLAR version of the song, please let me know. I think you are being so hypocritical throughout this entire thread.

For all the ones comparing Already Gone to Halo by Beyonce, I have to sincerely say that I prefer Already Gone.

But if anything, many of the detractor's comments have assured me that they are out of tune with Kelly as an artist and I like knowing that the basis for their criticisms are fundamentally flawed by everything I have observed. So now everyone who doesn't love Kelly's new album or think it's the best thing ever are all the sudden "out of tune" with Kelly and her music. lol. Okay. If that's what you choose to believe.

Funnily enough, Kelly isn't the one in a musical box, it's the fans who want their more narrow tastes pleased by her every time. For those who don't like this one, she'll put something in your box again. Some people became fans because of MD, not Breakaway. Some people hated MD and they love this album. You just have to wait your turn if you can't appreciate all of her musical sides. Word!!! Great post. To paraphrase one of the most memorable movie lines ever ("Nobody puts Baby in a corner," from Dirty Dancing)... NOBODY PUTS KELLY IN A MUSICAL BOX!

I changed my opinions on the singles.
1. My Life Would Suck Without You. 2. Already Gone. (Spring) 3. Don't Let Me Stop You. (Summer) 4. Cry. (Fall) 5. Long Shot.
Only this order if they get in the right time frame.

What sucks about the album leak is that before the leak Kelly's CD was in the top 10 at Itunes and now it's not which means people are no longer purchasing the presale or even worse cancelling it. I know I've already said this a couple of times, but the leak's impact on her sales really worries me.

It's no different than many of the presumptive criticisms that have been made of Kelly in this thread recently. This is the kind of response that only confirms my opinions that some of the criticisms I'm seeing of Kelly over this album are fundmentally flawed in thinking.

U2 and Kelly Clarkson Albums Leaked by Universal and Apple When Guns ‘N Roses’ Chinese Democracy leaked last year, the perpetrator was the perfect person for record labels to make an example out of: An anonymous music fan on a message board. This week, however, two of the most anticipated albums of the year have been leaked by their label and distributor’s very own hands. Yesterday, Kelly Clarkson’s All I Ever Wanted prematurely dropped on iTunes Norway, only days after U2’s No Line on the Horizon was accidently put up for sale on the Internet by their album’s own label, Universal Music Group. Clarkson’s album is not set for an official release for over a month and U2’s album is set to officially drop in Ireland next week. Clarkson’s album leak is likely good for her career, as the Internet is buzzing with very positive reviews of the songs, but with a month to go before it hits shelves, the album’s actual sales will likely take a big hit. Of course, Taylor Swift’s album Fearless has been available for 3 months and that has sold over 3 million copies to date. In reaction to the leak, U2 have placed their full album on MySpace for legal streaming. www.twentyfourbit.com/post/80314336/u2-and-kelly-clarkson-albums-leaked-by-universal-and Thanks for posting this, neally. Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but it wasn't a month when the album leaked. It was 18 days. Anyway, having noted that, it has to be true that the leak will hurt Kelly's sales given the wicked economic times we're all experiencing. This issue kind of fits in with the on-going commercial vs. non-commerical debate here. I'm a Kelly fan who wants to see her be as successful as possible. I want her on top of the music world as long as possible. Big sales are what make that happen. I've been hoping AIEW debuts at #1 on Billboard 200, and that this album goes multi-platinum. So FWIW, from my point of view this too-early leak is terrible.

Why did they have to send it to itunes so early? You'd think they could literally send it just hours before it was set to release.

Okay, I know you've all been waiting for my opinion of this cd.
Without further ado, I think it's my favorite Kelly cd to date. I don't always like to make such proclamations because the newest release always seems to be fan favorites until the passage of time equalizes things.
Favorites include Cry, Don't Let Me Stop You, All I Ever Wanted, Save You, Ready and If No One Will Listen. I'll have to listen a little more to pick my absolute favorite but initially, I'll go with Cry. I don't believe I've liked this many songs out of the gate from any of Kelly's previous releases. But there are some duds as well...Why Ya Wanna Bring Me Down, Already Gone, I Want You and Long Shot.

B. Monroe, I have never ever seen a post where you actually complimented Kelly in anything, so can we please restrict this thread from ha-ters? You have mentioned time and time again how you don't like anything Kelly has ever done post-2007, fine, we get it, go back to Britney Spears, I don't care.

I say move the date up a few weeks. There's a lot of buzz around Kelly now. Based on the scheduled album release dates posted on Pulse here: pulsemusic.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=gmn&action=display&thread=79656 most albums are released on Tuesdays. There are only 2 Tuesdays left before Kelly's official release date. If they moved her release date up to Feb. 24, that's the same day the Jonas Brothers release their concert soundtrack album. If they move AIEW's release date up to Mar. 3, that's the same day U2's album is released. RCA picked the 10th because there's no other really big album coming out that day. It was all set up for AIEW to debut at #1. Maybe the leak of U2's album will cancel out the negative effects of AIEW's leak. Crossing my fingers that's how it turns out.

Only this order if they get in the right time frame. I would probably go with: 1. My Life Would Suck Without You --------------------------------------------- 2. If I Can't Have You 3. I Do Not Hook Up (US/Ca/Aus/NZ) / Don't Let Me Stop You (Europe/Asia) 4. SWITCH the two above... and maybe "Ready" as the final single.

I really like the album so far i've only listened to the first 4 tracks and "Already Gone" but eveything i've heard so far is really good and "I Do Not Hook Up" better be the 2nd single Kelly killed it! much better than Katy's version.

B. Monroe, I have never ever seen a post where you actually complimented Kelly in anything Then that just shows how little you are on this board as I have time and time again praised the efforts of My December (in the forms of Never Again and Sober) and even as recently as last month my number one most played song in a week period was "Maybe" from that same effort. You must have completely missed my review that was posted less than 24 hours ago where I praised Can I Have A Kiss from that same album and were I praised most of Breakaways' work too (Where Is Your Heart, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Because Of You and Addicted) and you must not have born witness to a slew of my posts in the "My Life Would Suck Without You" thread where I said Since U Been Gone and Walk Away were some of her best up tempo's to date. Oh. I see because I am not foaming at the mouth for her most recent album that means I am a hater. Thank you for qualifying. Thank you for saying exactly how I feel about your feelings regarding my opinion.

We don't need you to. You do enough of that for Britney. :) No, because it's pretty pointless arguing or debating with you. You think one thing, others think different. Kelly's albums are all very different, and that's what I love about her. Unlike certain other singers, she's not just one note- vocally and artisticly. For those who were looking for My December Part Deux, well I guess you'll have to make due with what you got.

If I was screaming in this thread how much I loved this album I wouldn't be getting nearly as much flack as I have been getting now. It's not about me repeating my opinion, it's that my opinion isn't the same as the super Kelly fans and therefore is not welcome.

Both B.Monroe and luver are really just getting annoying.
B.Monroe, everyone gets it. You don't like the album. That's perfectly fine. Go ahead and scream it from the rooftops. Go ahead and post it once in every thread of Kelly's. However, don't rehash the same points various times in the same thread. I dislike this album too and I said it. There is no need to repeat myself 73564903579324 times because it verges on trolling.
As for luver, you need to get off your high horse. Your eloquent posts will only get you so far. After a while you sound like you're talking out of your a**. Not everyone is going to like this effort. Not everyone is going to agree that Kelly loves this album just because she has said that she likes a few of the songs. Personally, I think part of the reason why this album seems like a midpoint between MD and B is that Kelly compromised with her label to get something personal released. I don't think she loves this album as much as everyone is claiming she does. However, I also know that she wouldn't release anything that she wasn't proud of because she is Kelly Clarkson, but I digress. All of you hardcore fans (I'm including you in this grouping luver) need to let people express their dislike for this album. It sucks having your favorite artist's album criticized, but it's protocol.
With that said, IICHY needs to be released soon. It's the saving grace for this album.
