Without the buzz of AI, it's good to see Kat in 2010 getting herself out there and performing again. I LOVED the "It's Not Right" performance...didn't like the song at first, but will give it another chance. :)

'It's Not Right' is practically the only good song on the record. I'm verrrry disappointed.

I only like "It's Not Right", "Surrender", "Say Goodbye", "Keep Drivin'" and I think "Faultline". "Last Letter" is just absolute trash.

Katharine McPhee Covers ‘Shape’ Magazine February 2010The 25-year-old American Idol alum, who’s been open about her struggle with overcoming bulimia, told Shape she’s become more forgiving of her body. Check it: On refusing to obsess over weight: “The more I focused on my weight, the worse my bulimia got. Now I’m more easygoing. I stopped fighting myself and became more forgiving of my body. Ironically, the weight came off naturally through exercise but no dieting.” On living a healthy life: “At my last physical, the nurse took my vitals and said, ‘Wow, you must be taking care of yourself! Your blood pressure is perfect. You’re very healthy.’ Hearing her say that made me feel better than seeing an ‘ideal’ number on the scale.” Kat’s issue of Shape will be on newsstands Monday, January 18! justjared.buzznet.com/2010/01/13/katharine-mcphee-covers-shape-magazine-february-2010/ Girl, get a weave. I'm tired of this awful blond hair.

The production value doesn't seem as good as the other songs but it's good. A song that didn't make the album called "Love's Not a Leaver" leaked, it's pretty decent. I do hope this album brings her some success though, it's a great album.

I do hope this album brings her some success though, it's a great album. I also love "Last Letter." I can't say that this is a great album though. I think the first half is solid, and then by "How" and after it just falls apart. The album reminds me a lot of Delta Goodrem's albums, but Katharine's material just doesn't play to her strong suit. (Delta, on the other hand, writes songs that showcase her vocals and emotions perfectly) My favorite moment on Idol was when Katharine did "Someone to Watch Over Me" and had that "Mr. Holland's Opus" moment. Also, when she covered "Save The Last Dance For Me" for the 4th of July, that was a fantastic moment for her. I was hoping that signing to Verve meant that she would continue in that direction, and that the album would have a jazzy influence to it, but it's just a lot of forgettable stuff that doesn't play to her strengths. (I kept getting the impression that David Foster was going to turn Katharine into a Renee Olstead kind of thing, but alas, it wasn't meant to be) On a positive note, I do like "It's Not Right" and think it's a good single choice.

I just bought the album on iTunes after hearing "Had It All" and then "It's Not Right" live on Jimmy Kimmel, both are great pop-rock songs with an AC tint... she should definitely go with the latter for the second single.
I'm listening to the album now, I really like "Keep Drivin'" so far, it seems to be getting a bit more folk-y and acoustic sounding now. It's not groundbreaking stuff but I think it fits her, and from what I've heard so far it sounds lovely and is just pleasant which is what you need sometimes. I love her look too, great album cover and video.

I'm surprised she's doing the Harrah's gig. That should be a fairly big room (2,000?) and I wonder if she can fill it. She's only sold 25K albums and doesn't have a hit song. But I guess Harrah's wouldn't book her if she couldn't draw an audience.
I think Adam Lambert is doing a similiar casino gig in California and he has way more fans. I'm interested to see if she can sell tickets.

Thanks for the tour dates! Hopefully she'll come to a small venue in CT or something
I would love to see her as an opening act for some big artist as well!

I am very impressed with these venues. Classy small - medium sized locations. 500-1000 seat range. I hope she can fill them. Prices are reasonable as well. Hopefully she will come to some spots in New England as well.

Hopefully Didi singing "Terrified" on idol last night will boost the song on iTunes.
I have to say though, Didi killed Kat's version.
