I'm amazed this being as huge as it was in the US didn't translate into a more stable, long-lasting international career for Natalie.

I still love this. I first heard this when the video was being played regularly on Channel V when I was visiting my family in India in December of 1997. I noted it down for when I got back to the U.S. so I could get the import single. But I was pleasantly shocked and surprised when this actually got released to radio in the U.S. and it did so well. I liked the followup singles from that album too.

Such a classic.
The simplistic video, her vocals, and when the guitars start playing at the end >>>

CLASSIC! She has a great voice and it fit in with the song very well. It should have peaked higher than #42 on the Hot 100 despite the rules on there at the time.

This song will never get old, it's a classic.
One of the best songs ever that's about a failing relationship. I know she didn't write the song, but her vocals are everything.
I love the video for this too - the home slowly getting emptier and emptier as he moves out.

I love this one. Does anyone remember her follow-ups, Wishing I Was There and Wrong Impression? I heard them a lot when they came out.

The guitar at the end of the track ruined the song for me. Otherwise, I would tolerate this song despite the overplay. I remember seeing this video a lot on MTV. In my market, 101.9 the Mix often played this song. B96 also played it too as Chicago had no mainstream top 40 station at the time (B96 was rhythmic/dance then) and rhythmic stations largely ignored this song.

"Torn" is a gorgeous record. Natalie has a lovely voice and she sings this with conviction. The guitar riff at the end of the track makes the song interesting to me, it sound a bit similar to the riff at the end of Queen's "Radio Gaga." "Smoke," "Wrong Impression," and "Glorious" were good singles by her too.

Natalie performed this with Olivia Rodrigo at her SOUR Tour stop in London:
Edit: tweet if you can't see the video:

Loved this back then. I remember seeing the video all the time on Vh-1.

I don't care that it came out a decade before she was famous (even longer if you consider that it's a cover), this is basically a Taylor Swift song. Same goes for Kiss Me by Sixpence and Stay (I Missed You) by Lisa Loeb. That might be a good topic for a thread.
