I think the video release will impact it significantly in a positive way- it's a killer video.

I think the video will have little impact because it is clear they are moving on to WWFM. I expect a video for that will be done soon enough. If no one is hearing FYE on the radio then I don't think many people will even know to go look for a music video. I could be wrong, just the way I see it happening...

In other words, I think his hardcore fans will be the only ones carnig about the video and they have already bought the single and/or album.

Previous peak was 84? The reentry was solely due to the sales that coincided with album release. Without airplay, it sales will falter.

Video is getting some serious attention- it is #8 in power rotation on MTV it's first week, #8 on Vevo and showing up on Jump Start. Can't wait for the VH1 ranking!

I agree. It's dead and frankly, I hope they don't try to resurrect it, Adam has way better songs than FYE in his album and some of his songs also have more potential in CHR imo.

Has that ever happened though? A song as high profile as this one getting sent for adds once again, and becoming a hit the second time around?

If RCA is smart, they should not resurrect this and they should just concentrate all their efforts on making sure WWFM becomes a hit.

FYE is one of my top songs off the album. Its probably a result of my preference for pop/r&b/dance/house over rock in my musical preference. I'd say FYE is closest to that type of music. I'm very sad that it won't be pushed further as I truly believe it is a hit. It's just the circumstances that created all these noise.

Then again, I also liked Russian Roulette much better than Hard from Rihanna and the former is also being abandoned. Maybe I'm falling behind in my musical preferences lol.

I think FYE will do well in the rest of the world. Asia and Europe is take this type of song much more seriously and has many examples of top hits with this sound. I'm waiting for that because i want to see him perform this song some point down the road!

Video is in power rotation on MTV and VH1...when do these channels even play videos though? lol This reached #90 on Itunes the other day and hasn't left the top 100 since.

Also, I always wondered why video sales don't count towards the Hot 100...anyone know Billboard's explanation?

I’m not surprised the video shot up the charts that fast. I visited a forum where some generous lady was giving out free iTunes downloads of this video for the first 1,000 people who wanted it. Apparently, the 1,000 limit was filled up. So the sales from that lady alone would already be enough to make FYE video #1.

There's a gift option on iTunes. You can purchase singles and albums and gift it to other iTunes users. This lady I'm referring to gifted 1,000 downloads of the FYE video to Adam fans. I don't recall where I saw this posted, I think on IDF?

In any case, video sales on iTunes don't amount to a lot, compared to singles sales.
