That Swift estimate looks bad. No her album is the oldest of the bunch. So it doesn't look bad. The album is in its second year, having already sold over 5 million copies so there comes a time when it has just got to slow down. But she'll probably soar back up after Sunday anyway. Her fans are probably cooling it this week so they can rush after the grammy's air and make that total look incredible for the following week.

Yes. The fact that she's still selling that well, should be enough for her fans. It's already one of the biggest albums of the last couple of years, plus, this is just a fraction of the sales, so it could end up having a bigger total this week.

Perhaps re:Grammys.
I just want her to stay T10, like...until her next album comes out.
Also, from BB: As forecasted last Friday, the "Hope For Haiti Now" benefit album will debut at No. 1. Haiti album sold close to 150,000 downloads in the week that just ended on Sunday, Jan. 24. The "Haiti" set will win over Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream," which had been tipped to return to No. 1 with around 80,000 sold.
It's pretty amazing that we keep getting 100k debuts in January.

I don't think the Hope for Haiti now album is going affect Lady Antebellum sales.

So the album sold 150,000 downloads in one day (Sunday)? OMG!!! Amazing! At least we know digital downloads is the future and will only grow more and more.

But the circumstances under which this album is being released are VERY different to those of a normal release.

Wow Susan Boyle didn't benefit that much from Oprah...although I guess the fact that she increased instead of dropped is a result of that promo.
Adam Lambert has the biggest % increase in the top 50 (thanks to Oprah) although I thought his album would sell a tad more this week too.

SuGod Oprah's days are coming to an end. Show over in 2011, bad results for Precious on GG and SAG, not boosting SuGod's sales... Dismissing Mimi's 100% from the soundtrack was one of her worst decissions and karma is starting to do its thing.

If I'm comparing it to the right week, the whole top 33 plus #44-47 all sold more than the albums at those same positions this week last year. I'm wondering if we may see a -1% or a -2% versus last year when the full SoundScan numbers come in.

Wow at Ke$ha's crash. I'm glad to see the Hope for Haiti's numbers so high! All that money is going to a wonderful cause.
Adam's increase was really great. Good for him!

Dismissing Mimi's 100% from the soundtrack was one of her worst decissions and karma is starting to do its thing. I will have to echo what I said above about Taylor. Susan has sold over 3 million albums in 2 two months. When you have numbers like these appearances like Oprah will make no difference. There comes a time when she is going to slow down and the fact that she's still #2 is amazing. How many people are pulling 3 million in 2 months? Not many. Regarding Precious, I think Monique won the Globe and SAG and will likely win the Oscar so the fact that one person from the movie is winning all the awards is better then nothing. However, it baffles me of how much attention Jhud got for dreamgirls, Monique's pales in comparison even though she is winning the same awards. That's a bit strange to me. Perhaps Jennifer got so much press because she was from Idol.

Dismissing Mimi's 100% from the soundtrack was one of her worst decissions and karma is starting to do its thing. When you're selling that much and have already sold over 3 million copies in the US alone, going on Oprah is just little bit of icing on a huge cake. A lot of Oprah's audience is Susan's audience, so I expect a good portion already had her album. Plus, she was only 15 minutes of the show. Adam was the other 45 minutes. Given that Adam has sold far fewer albums (so a lot more don't already own it), and Oprah's audience probably aren't the first folks to look at Adam's album cover and go, "yeah, I gotta have that," he benefits more. Especially since he sang the TV-friendly WWFM rather than one of his other less-TV-friendly songs.

Perhaps Jennifer got so much press because she was from Idol. It's actually because Jennifer actually did promo for her role. Monique did nothing. She didn't do any of the press tours, missed awards shows (NYFCC Awards, etc). I think this quote sums it up: "Mo'Nique, 42, says she cares deeply about "Precious" and is thrilled to be among the mentioned, but she is not about to reorganize her life or her priorities to get her mitts on an Oscar. "The Mo'Nique Show," her daily talk show on BET, just began in October, and while other hopefuls are criss-crossing the country for all manner of events, chatting up Oscar bloggers and making sure that everyone knows that they want it, Mo'Nique is mostly here in Atlanta, tending to her show."

I am absolutely loving GaGa's numbers...Over 90k for her total this week!
I am a huge Lady Antebellum fan but I must say that I think that I would be willing to give up their #1 debut for the Haiti album. It's more important to get money for this disaster than to have them debut at #1. I'd rather the album debut and stay consistent in sales :)

Obviously I like it, but saying that untill the album drops out of top 20, the hype is there is ludicrous. It had to lessen at one point of time and that time has come. Oprah didnot help her gain a considerable amount did she?
