HITS 1/25 - 1/26: Susan Boyle 80-85k

Susan has sold over 3 million albums in 2 two months. When you have numbers like these appearances like Oprah will make no difference.

I think HITS over-predicted with Susan last week (predicting 81K and then Billboard had her lower at 77K). So, if the HITS number holds and Billboard also reports her at around 82K this week, then it means she would have gone from 77K to 82K on Billboard, which would be, I don't know, 7 or 8% increase?

However, it baffles me of how much attention Jhud got for dreamgirls, Monique's pales in comparison even though she is winning the same awards. That's a bit strange to me. Perhaps Jennifer got so much press because she was from Idol.

Idol yes, but I think it also had to do with the role and the song. Before the movie came out, there were stories and stories about who would get the highly coveted role of Effie and get to sing THAT SONG, one of the most powerful and recognizable in show business. I think Jennifer won that Oscar before the movie even came out. Even people who hadn't seen the movie saw/heard Effie/Jennifer singing AIATY on YouTube or other places. Had she been in a non-singing movie like Precious, I think the amount of publicity Jenn received would have been different.

Its good its going to charity but i am not impressed by some of the charities getting the money from this album which includes the yele haiti which is wyclef's own charity. I trust my money with red cross all too often most of the charities r nothing more then scams .

Red Cross is shady too, does anybody remember the Hurricane Katrina scandal? They misappropriated the funds for other things benefiting only the organization.
