I wouldn't say "vintage" but it was pretty good. Should match the success of Inside the Fire.

I think it's vintage in the sense that it sounds closer to 'Believe' or 'Ten Thousand Fist' era rather than 'Indestructible' era, but this doesn't have the industrial flourishes of the debut.
I dig this song more than "Inside The Fire" and on par with the last two singles off 'Indestructible'.

I dig this song more than "Inside The Fire" and on par with the last two singles off 'Indestructible'. Dungan did mention in an interview that "Asylum" will be closest to "Believe" musically-speaking in their catalog, with Draiman also admitting he can't consider it their most aggressive album to date. That said, both have mentioned, thematically, the material they traverse on "Asylum" is as dark as anything they've done, and they seem to stretch themselves topically like we began to see them really do with "Inside the Fire" the previous era. The Believe era was what I thought of. I quite like it...Unfortunately, I'll probably be sick of it once my Alt station starts really beating this into the ground over the next few weeks.

I actually find it kinda dull, then again I don't really care much for Disturbed save for the Ten Thousand Fists album and a decent chunk of the last era.

It's going to be hard to top The Sickness album. But I don't expect them to. I enjoy there stuff. They are in my Top 10 Bands still.

Yeah I don't think it'll debut at #1 either. But definitely Top 5. I'd say even #3 or #4.

This song hold its own as far as the groove is concerned, but lyrically it's weak, in my opinion.
Usually Draiman has a reputation for writing cryptic lyrics that nonetheless still have a way of connecting to listeners universally and pump their fans up as much as make them think. Here, he sounds like he's not even trying, as though he was watching "An Inconceivable Truth" and jotted down a list of declarative statements to pass on as a set of lyrics. This is just lazy songwriting.
This will be as big a hit as "Inside the Fire" without doubt, but I also predict it'll lack the staying power of both the aforementioned hit as well as the title track of their previous album.

Debuts at #27 on Billboard Alternative Songs. was hoping for a Top 20 debut. As for Mainstream rock, I don't have a clue.

This will eventually top the Mainstream Rock chart for sure, but I have to say I am wondering if both Shinedown's latest and Five Finger Death Punch's cover of "Bad Company" may actually get to the summit first. The latter actually had superior increases since the last update neck-to-neck. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

Given Disturbed debuted ahead of "Bad Company" on the chart already, I doubt that 5FDP would then get to #1 first. I still wouldn't rule out 5FDP's chances of getting to the top eventually, but Disturbed's debut on the chart is certainly hurting a lot of songs in the top 10 right now.
