Is it just me or is this year nu-metal's comeback in a way? I mean, we've got Korn, Disturbed, Limp Bizkit, Nonpoint, Sevendust, Godsmack, Deftones, Taproot, Drowning Pool, Stone Sour, Evanescence, and probably a lot more all with new material. I know not all of those are necessarily nu-metal, but you guys know what I mean. Kind of interesting, I think.

Serj Tankian is another one to add to the list. And you could include Chevelle; they're nu-metal enough and Sci-Fi Crimes is only on its 2nd single. While Mudvayne's s/t album is one and done to make way for Hellyeah, "Scream With Me" is still charting. Slipknot - "Snuff" just fell off active quite recently.
And I'd much rather have Nu-metal than cock rock anyway, so I embrace this as a step in the right direction.

I hope Nu-Metal can charge back onto the Alternative chart like back in the early 2000s.

I kind of like that it's making a comeback as long as the post-grunge cock-rock gets pushed more and more away. I'd rather have pop-punk making a comeback instead, but that's just me.

I would say nu-metal bands are making a comeback, more than the nu-metal sound is making one. Bands such as Disturbed abandoned the sound a long time ago.

Whatever. All better than this indie stuff that's dominating the chart nowadays.

Interestingly enough, the most successful nu-metal commercial champion, Linkin Park, is, at least in the meantime, off the radar.

The last album was probably my least favorite. I just couldn't get into it the same way I had with pretty much all the other ones. I'm looking for a top notch comeback for my personal love of this band
And I'm waiting for another wicked cover song from the band that does THE best covers in history.....I just hope this isn't it, I don't want an Alicia Keys/Jack White cover.

Whatever. All better than this indie stuff that's dominating the chart nowadays. I don't get why people are mad about the new artists charting on Alternative specifically. No one is greatly opposed to Janus, Shaman's Harvest, Seasons After etc. even though their degree of difference from the current sonic landscape on Active is about the same as Phoenix, Crash Kings, Neon Trees, etc. from what's on Alternative.

I have to agree, I basically begged for the alternative chart to bring back its actual alternative/modern rock roots and it finally has. I like the mixture and was pretty tired of the alternative chart basically looking like "active lite".

That's not exactly going out on a limb. lol.
I mean unless it goes up against another big album i expect it to do around 150,000 - 200,000K it's first week. As of right now that would be #1 most weeks. But i guess it depends what it goes up against.

I'm assuming you've heard this, but in case you haven't... This may be a stupid question but isn't the intro to that the exact same as Painkiller? Or did they do that intentionally. I dunno. I haven't heard the original in a long long time.

Well they were already covering one Judas Priest song, so I'd assume that it was intentional.

Hopefully the full song comes out within the next few days. x107.5 from Vegas will play it next Monday (just like what they did with Nightmare, playing it a day before)
