It's disappointing that this came so close to making the top 10. I agree that the label was probably pleased with a Mediabase top 10, as they were with a Mediabase #1 earlier this year.

Yeah, keep in mind that this one will mostly be accepted as a top 10 hit, since it did finish a week inside the top 10 at MB. But I agree with Ten Pound Hammer--why not keep this one going for just this week? All they would've needed to do was push it for this week, because then it would've actually gotten 3 more weeks on the chart. It would've gotten this week, next week, and the week after Christmas. Billboard doesn't pull any songs over the week of Christmas, since everyone drops audience, and hardly any songs ever drop off on the week after Christmas, since just about everyone gains an absurd amount of audience after all the holiday songs drop. The week after Christmas, the 1/15 chart, is when we're sure to see a bunch of debuts or even a few re-entries at the bottom of the chart. I'm glad "Heart Like Mine" is Miranda's new single, but it didn't make sense to announce it as a single now...why not wait until the Monday after Christmas? Releasing it now vs. then doesn't change anything, as either way it would've (and will) debut on the 1/15 chart. Now Miranda won't have anything on the chart for the next 2 weeks, and she could've had "Only Prettier" on there. Not a smart move by the label at all, even if they were content with a MB top 10. I think they pushed this all they could. I respect your thinking here, but my opinion differs. I don't think they pushed at all this past week. With "Heart Like Mine" at radio, it seems they completely abandoned "Only Prettier", as OP saw drops of 500-800k per day at MB in the 2nd half of last week. That clearly shows that they completely dropped all their support of OP, in my opinion.

I meant they were pushing before because it was dropping. It did gain some back but I think radio was tired of it.

Pulling the plug on it and letting "HLM" get started >>> "Only Prettier" piddling around on the chart for a few weeks.

^I can see that point. But releasing "Heart Like Mine" last week, rather than the Monday after Christmas, won't matter hardly at all either, like I said in my most recent post. "Heart Like Mine" won't chart until the week after Christmas, and it would've charted then had it been shipped to radio that week as well, since all the holiday songs and a few other low-end songs will disappear. And, "Only Prettier" actually may have been able to snag a BB top 10 yet with those 2 extra weeks, even without a push. Songs lose airplay over Christmas week, but those songs that peaked several weeks ago, like RF and ZBB, will be allowed to fall out of the top 10 and not go recurrent (BB doesn't pull anyone over Christmas). Basically, those songs that have peaked a while ago will lose mor audience than songs that are still climbing. So, one more week supporting "Only Prettier" could've made a big difference, as it could've moved up to #10 with those 2 vacant spots. OP would've certainly lost audience this week anyway, but maybe RF or ZBB would've lost enough to fall below...
Actually, if "Only Prettier" had gotten just enough support this past week (I don't think the label did as much as it could, like I said--Columbia isn't a slouchy label), it could've stayed ahead of Luke Bryan and then the ZBB/AJ song would've been the one to go recurrent. Makes no sense releasing "Heart Like Mine" last week..
