Thats crazy. How are they going to do all of that so quickly? The album is out in 10 weeks. lol I guess thats quite a bit of time, but don't labels require acts to be done with their albums atleast a month prior to release?

That promotion thing is out of my reach, although it sounds cool.

I think I'm going to try this.
I've looking at the stems right now. This is going to probably really weird. It's got slow piano and the line "God bless us everyone" over and over.
I guess they're giving themselves a deadline to avoid the paralysis of analysis.

The album could possibly be released on the same day as Kanye West's new one, so it may not debut at #1.

This actually lines up perfectly when you play all the stems together, it's just really rushed and the ending drags out.

Just from the remix preview, i have a feeling this song will smash.. It's a Linkin Park single, a first single at that. It's inevitable that it'll smash. I wonder if it'll debut at number one like What I've Done.

Thanks Pipa. Your track reminds me of P5hng Me A*Wy, the reminx of Pushing Me Away from Reanimation. IMO that's one of the top 5 songs Linkin Park has ever recorded (and that's a hard list to make) The thing that reminds me of that song is that your track sounds like a long introduction waiting for an explosion. On P5hng Me A*Wy the explosion happens at 2:39 (that's the timestamp I remember from discussions on this board). Can't wait to hear the explosion on The Catalyst!

Yeah, this new era of his isn't off to a strong start, and his last era wasn't exactly massive. I see his album being pushed back or something.

Why won't Kanye have another big era? Because of the Taylor thing or because Power hasn't taken off? I thought that Power was just a buzz single anyway.
Sorry Alt/Rock people for mentioning both Kanye and Taylor in your forum.

Come to think about it, his last album debuted with 450k, while LP scored 625k, so they could beat him! :)

I liked the preview for this quite a lot! :) I can't wait for A Thousand Suns, despite thinking nothing by them will ever beat the awesomeness of Minutes To Midnight, for me. Since it's coming out on September 14th, it should leak around a week earlier, at least, which is great, considering things aren't looking bright in terms of new music that I care about coming out during this vacation. It's something to cheer me up right before school starts, again.

Come to think about it, his last album debuted with 450k, while LP scored 625k, so they could beat him! :) Remember that you're comparing a 2008 album after a 1 year wait, which plenty of fans would not buy because they knew they would not like it, to a 2007 album after a 4 year wait, with new people giving it a try because of what the band was saying about it before release. There was the LP leak vs. only two songs leaked from 808s, but most everyone who would download a leak wouldn't buy the album anyway. The album could possibly be released on the same day as Kanye West's new one, so it may not debut at #1. LP>>>>>>>Kanye Only in one sense.

I don't know.. I don't know if Kanye is as much of a threat as people are thinking he will be. At this point, I don't think a lot of people are even aware he has a new album coming out. Which could change if he gets promotion and a hit. Also, even if Power is a buzz single, people are obviously not caring too much about it or craving new Kanye since its selling so poorly. I'm not saying LP will beat Kanye, I just don't think Kanye is going to be that big of a threat. Right now, it all depends on promotion and who will get better exposure and radio play before album time.

Only in one sense. And, using your same logic, it has been a longer wait for LP fans for new music. Kanye also hasn't exactly been in public favor lately and Power isn't really being received well. Both will undoubtedly drop from those numbers-it is just a question of how much. I can see Kanye sliding to the 250K-375K range and LP selling between 300K-400K depending on hype, promo, and how well received the real first singles are. It will definitely be a fun battle to watch if it happens.

I would say Kanye would win the contest if both are coming out on the same day.

People have been saying alternative doesn't cross over much anymore. Which is true. That said ... take your blind guess on where The Catalyst peaks on pop. I say #28.

I will say, hooray to LP for not taking the cliched title route this time around. Those track titles intrigue me as to the delicious content within.
