She looks ill in that video. Doubt this does much.

Set Fire To The Rain could do well on Pop but not this, even though I love it!

Add me to the chorus that is doubtful but would love to see this great track succeed on CHR. It has an uphill battle but we've occasionally seen strong singles atypical of this format gradually snowball their way to being pop radio successes. "Rehab," "Paper Planes" and "Fuck You" currently all come to mind.
It would be great if this song has at least moderate success at CHR freeing up the way a bit for the second single which should be "Set the Fire to Rain." That track has the strongest crossover potential of anything Adele has recorded to date.

Beautiful song. It's very catchy and upbeat but it sounds different from anything else on the radio, and the vocals are amazing. I especially love the 'the scars of your love remind me of us.."-part. This deserves to succeed and I think it can if Adele promotes this by performing.

I love this song. I think Adele is an amazing vocalist.
I REALLY hope this is a hit, although I doubt it will be with the current state of pop radio. But they do play a "oddball" or two every now and then. I hope this becomes one of them.

I think this could actually do well. Normally, it wouldn't stand a chance in hell, but she is very popular at the moment. And while this song isn't radio friendly in your typical way, I think it is pop enough to not be jarring in a CHR lineup, which will make DJs more comfortable adding her to their playlists.

It was a small venue here in Nashville, and she had a cold. Still sounded like a rockstar even with the cold :) Going to see her again at The Ryman here in Nashville in June. Yesssss!!!

AHH! I love this song!!!! Can't see it doing very well on Top 40 though....I'll predict an optimistic peak of #45.

Man, I'm so jealous. I live in San Antonio and she's going to be in Austin and Houston (or was it Dallas and Houston? something like that). But not San Antonio. No one ever seems to come through here, only the big names. I'm gonna have to look at the dates again and see if I'm able to go to Houston or what not. She's definitely worth it.

You could feel them becoming hits before they got major CHR airplay. I don't feel it so much with the Adele track, though it's great.

To me, Adele's hooks (lyrically) aren't U. S. CHR-friendly - no one in America uses phrases like "Chasing Pavements" and "Rolling In The Deep" - I think she's kind of above people's heads

I absolutely love this song, and hope it's just one of those break-the-radio-mold pop songs that does well and is embraced. Her vocals on it are stunning, the lyrics are great--sounds fresh and classic at the same time. Really can't say enough good things about it.

Adele is just too good for American Pop radio.

During her debut era, when I heard "Chasing Pavements", I thought she was already an above-average vocalist............but in spite of all the hype surrounding her artistry, I wasn't entirely sold then in that she was the real deal as an artist destined to stand the tests of time from the sophomore era and beyond. I felt she had the technical skill crossed to a T, but her voice still needed some greater emotional depth to it to make her stand out amidst the crowd of Duffys and Winehouses.
She has exceeded my expectations and wildest hopes with "Rolling In The Deep". Here, not only does her voice embody a wide range of devastation, sensuality and urgency..........but she sounds so confident, you can easily mistake her as a seasoned road veteran going on deep into the second or third decade of ones performing career. She is THAT good, and folk/country music isn't even what Adele soaked up in her musical upbringing................which makes this recording all the more flawless.
Musically it's just as compelling in its texture and emotional force. The militant drumbeat that drives the pre-chorus, in particular, is alluring and keeps the track sounding just as passionate as it is pensive.
Tragically, Mainstream Top 40 will only touch this with a thirty-nine-and-a-half-foot-pole if it becomes a massive iTunes smash and garners numerous accolades. It would never stand a chance on this format on its own extraordinary merit, and even with the aforementioned boost, I don't see this peaking above #25 at best.
Shame, because this is by far one of the best singles of 2010, which in truth actually feels more like a proper 2011 release. I am now convinced, especially after hearing the remainder of "21", that Adele will have a successful recording career lasting well beyond this era............and deservedly so.............no thanks to this particular format.
Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus
