A single isn't official until it actually goes for adds, because singles have been known to change unexpectedly at the last minute. shouldn't a single be announced before it goes for adds? What's that got to do with the price of sheep?

Not true at all. Like I said, many times the singles are lined up before the album is released. Sometimes announced right on the CD cover. The dates come later when needed. If you're saying it's not true that the singles get changed at the last minute, you are absolutely fucking wrong.

if u mean on Alternative, no doubt Yeah, I don't think "Walk" will hit #1 on active, but it's a shoe-in on alternative. Heck, it may even be the next song to get there if Sublime fails to hit #1 and Rise Against doesn't muster a shocking late round run to the top.

Risking repeating myself (unless it's deleted??).... I'll be shocked if Walk doesn't get a GRAMMY nod for Song and Record of the year.

^I'd be more surprised if it *did* get one of those nominations. I mean, stranger things have happened, but I certainly don't it's a shoe-in for those categories. If anything, I think it's more plausible that Wasting Light will get an Album Of The Year nomination.

I would hazard to guess "Rope" will probably get a Best Rock Song nomination also. But "Walk" getting noms. for Song or Record of the Year? That's a stretch.

That's true. But I guess what I mean is...either the thread should be locked until it's officially named a single, or we should let this go. I'm actually voting for the second because I think "Walk" is less than two weeks away from appearing on the alternative chart. Top 50 on Alternative: 51 50 FOO FIGHTERS Walk 109 92 17 0.433 And I picked less than two weeks because I figured the Sunday update would usher it in. I wish I had said that I'm picking May 29th as its debut date, but I was too conservative in my officially typed prediction.

Top 40 this morning.
Strange Alternative daily, with only 1 song (Redlight King) possessing a bullet within the top 25. I can't remember 24 out of 25 downward trending songs ever.

That could just be because of the Memorial Day weekend, most stations do like an all 90's thing for 3 days. I know my station did. Everything will probably pick back up once the week cycles through.

I agree. And that happens on many holidays. But I don't recall ever seeing 1 out of the top 25 songs with a bullet on any day I've checked.

Wow, just caught this premiere on Paladia. Very impressive video to me. I thought the stab at the cultural lameness of Bieber/Bush/Coldplay was humorous.

I'm a Coldplay fan, and I do think Justin Bieber possesses legit talent in spite of my agreements/outrage over how he is marketed and his annoying degree of celebrity.............and even I thought those jabs were hilarious. What about G.W. Bush then? You going to like all three and proclaim yourself Satan?

What about G.W. Bush then? You going to like all three and proclaim yourself Satan? I can see how George W. Bush is likable, as an individual. I just believe, as well-intentioned as he is, he should never have stepped within a five mile radius of any executive office. Does that qualify me as Satan? Seeing how he's likable but not liking at all the way he did his job? ;) Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

Ah, hell, I actually cast my vote for him in 2000. He was very likable to me then, at least. Now Coldplay and Bieber, those are a lot scarier.

The more important thing to denote about the introductory sequence of the video is what isn't touched up on! ;) Rebecca Black's "Friday". Hollywood Undead. Donald Trump. Is their lack of inclusion an insinuation that Grohl is a die-hard fan of all three? Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

Don't know Friday or more than one song from Hollywood Undead. Agreed on Trump though. It should have been him instead of Bush on the bumper sticker just to keep it updated. But no denying Bieber and Coldplay. They nailed it.

I'm not too sure if I get that vibe from Coldplay being used, an add saying "#1 song in the country, Rebecca Black's "Friday"! Get the new album I LOL @ U TODAY!" would been dead on. I would've laughed and laughed. Oh, and Artie, just for you.
