Lahey's Lucky Star: Berlin reach Top 10 territory. @jf816: That arrow keeps pointing upward. hitseeker.: MJ up two. @spiritanimal: So are Nico & Vinz. See also story below. Zeebz: Lana up three. surfy: "Rather Be" up two. @drag27: So is Gaga. DROPPERS:Beyonce - XO (from 40) LeAnn Rimes featuring Rob Thomas & Jeff Beck - Gasoline and Matches (from 34) Fall Out Boy - Young Volcanoes (from 29) DEBUT CORNER:From last week - "Back to California": The latest single from Steve Grand. A different one from him, one that leans more Adult Contemporary. I do like that, but what I don't like is that it comes off clunky in spots. I don't think it's as strong a song from him, and with rumors of another song soon to be forthcoming, I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't last long here. "Let Her Down Easy": Definitely blown away by how he puts his voice to work here. It's starting to show signs of wear already, though, as I'm finding this to be a song that doesn't go down as well outside of smaller doses. Now, this week's - "You Don't Know What to Do": Digging the rhythm and production on this. How will she do? We'll see. "Lemonade": This is a song I couldn't stop listening to after first hearing it. Definitely looking forward to playing it this summer. "Words As Weapons": Possibly surpassing "Crash & Burn" for the title of heaviest song in the Top 40, this brings back a band that I've often enjoyed from the songs of theirs that I've heard often. Definitely look for this to be a big hit here. Last week, Darling Parade crashed into the top spot. This week, they're still burning up there. But here comes Kacey, who seems to be following her arrow towards that #1 spot as well. Looks like a fight shaping up for next week... And, right behind them is Justin Timberlake. Last week he leaped from 8 to 4 - given his brisk rise upward, he's got his sights set on that #1 spot as well. Rudimental have had...a bit of a tough time in the Top 10. Two months ago, they leaped right in, moving from 11 to 7 in one week. Their trajectory since then: 7-7-7-6-6-6-5-5-5. They appear to be finally running out of steam, however, as they've lost their bullet at #5 this week. One who's still kicking, however, is Kylie Minogue. After four months of climbing, this week she breaks the Top 10 for her fourth time. Also running out of steam: Rascal Flatts, losing their bullet in their third week at #16. Ciara spends her third week at #17, but she still has some fight left in her. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. Until next week... :) -Mike

This week, Darling Parade try for a third run at #1 while Kacey aims for that #1 bullseye, and Justin's thinking that hitting #1 wouldn't be such a bad thing either. But first... Mariah update: Since literally everyone except josh is here for her LOL. She's up three. Lahey's Lucky Star: So are Danity Kane. @spiritanimal: Kylie up two. Zeebz: So is Lana. @yonkab: "Fancy" reaches Top 20 territory. @drag27: While Gaga reaches the Top 10. hitseeker.: Nico & Vinz up three. josh: 1D up three. surfy: So is Cher Lloyd. @jf816: The headline story. ;) Mike's Top 40 For the Week Ending: June 14, 2014 TW | LW | WOC | Artist | Title | Peak | 40 | -- | 1 | Glenn Morrison featuring Islove | Goodbye | 40 | 39 | 27 | 22 | Paramore | Ain't it Fun | 8 | 38 | 36 | 3 | Steve Grand | Back to California | 36 | 37 | 40 | 2 | Mariah Carey featuring Wale | You Don't Know What to Do | 37 | 36 | 39 | 2 | Danity Kane featuring Tyga | Lemonade | 36 | 35 | 35 | 3 | George Michael | Let Her Down Easy | 35 | 34 | 28 | 8 | Celine Dion & Ne-Yo | Incredible | 28 | 33 | 38 | 2 | Seether | Words As Weapons | 33 | 32 | 34 | 4 | Lana Del Rey | West Coast | 32 | 31 | 33 | 4 | O.A.R. | Peace | 31 | 30 | 32 | 4 | Tegan & Sara | I'm Not Your Hero | 30 | 29 | 30 | 5 | Michael Jackson | Love Never Felt So Good | 29 | 28 | 31 | 5 | Nico & Vinz | Am I Wrong | 28 | 27 | 29 | 5 | Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne | Rather Be | 27 | 26 | 16 | 14 | Rascal Flatts | Rewind | 16 | 25 | 26 | 5 | Route 94 featuring Jess Glynne | My Love | 25 | 24 | 25 | 5 | Sarah McLachlan | In Your Shoes | 24 | 23 | 14 | 20 | Beyonce featuring Jay-Z | Drunk in Love | 5 | 22 | 23 | 10 | Katy B | Crying For No Reason | 22 | 21 | 24 | 7 | Cher Lloyd | Sirens | 21 | 20 | 15 | 20 | Hunter Hayes | Invisible | 10 | 19 | 22 | 7 | Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX | Fancy | 19 | 18 | 21 | 8 | Anastacia | Stupid Little Things | 18 | 17 | 20 | 9 | Sara Evans | Slow Me Down | 17 | 16 | 19 | 11 | Jetta | Feels Like Coming Home | 16 | 15 | 17 | 13 | Ciara featuring Future | Anytime | 15 | 14 | 9 | 21 | Neon Trees | Sleeping With a Friend | 1 (7) | 13 | 18 | 12 | Coldplay | Midnight | 13 | 12 | 13 | 12 | John Martin | Anywhere For You | 12 | 11 | 12 | 15 | DJ Cassidy featuring Robin Thicke & Jessie J | Calling All Hearts | 11 | 10 | 11 | 12 | Lady Gaga | G.U.Y. | 10 | 9 | 5 | 20 | Rudimental featuring Emeli Sande | Free | 5 | 8 | 10 | 12 | Berlin | Animal | 8 | 7 | 4 | 19 | SoMo | Ride | 1 (2) | 6 | 8 | 18 | Kylie Minogue | Into the Blue | 6 | 5 | 6 | 17 | John Newman | Losing Sleep | 5 | 4 | 7 | 13 | One Direction | You and I | 4 | 3 | 3 | 14 | Justin Timberlake | Not a Bad Thing | 3 | 2 | 1 | 20 | Darling Parade | Crash & Burn | 1 (2) | 1 | 2 | 20 | Kacey Musgraves | Follow Your Arrow | 1 (1) |
DROPPER:Duke Dumont featuring A.M.E. - Need U (100%) (from 37) DEBUT CORNER:"Goodbye": A dance song that sounds different from most other dance songs out currently. And one so incredibly infectious that I got into it very quickly. Suffice it to say this has big hit written all over it here. After two weeks on top, Darling Parade give way to Kacey Musgraves, who'll have to keep firing those #1 arrows if she wants to keep Justin Timberlake at bay. But look out! Here come One Direction now leaping up to #4. They've got their eye on a second #1 song, too. (Oddly enough next week will mark when "What Makes You Beautiful" got there two years ago.) Kylie may be the beneficiary of a currently-shifting Top 10, but she's making the most of it as she's up two more to #6. Another struggling comer is "Calling All Hearts", knocking on Top 10's door in its 15th week. Right behind it though, "Midnight" sees a breakout this week as it leaps five to #13. With many of the oldest titles now going down, it'll help lift up the new ones to break through everyone canceling each other out. One who's not going to make it, though, is "Incredible", which falls six to #34 this week. And "Back to California" isn't faring much better - down two to #38. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. Until next week... :) -Mike

Oooookay so this didn't happen when it needed to cause the better part of the last week and a half has ranged from busy, to stressed, to sick. So, here's what should have gone up on Saturday. Barring any new catastrophes ;), I'll be back as normal on Saturday. @jf816 @spiritanimal josh Lahey's Lucky Star @drag27 Zeebz surfy @yonkab hitseeker.Mike's Top 40 For the Week Ending: June 21, 2014 TW | LW | WOC | Artist | Title | Peak | 40 | -- | 1 | Ed Sheeran | Don't | 40 | 39 | -- | 1 | Coldplay | A Sky Full of Stars | 39 | 38 | -- | 1 | Robert Glasper featuring Emeli Sande | Somebody Else | 38 | 37 | 26 | 15 | Rascal Flatts | Rewind | 16 | 36 | 40 | 2 | Glenn Morrison featuring Islove | Goodbye | 36 | 35 | 35 | 4 | George Michael | Let Her Down Easy | 35 | 34 | 37 | 3 | Mariah Carey featuring Wale | You Don't Know What to Do | 34 | 33 | 36 | 3 | Danity Kane featuring Tyga | Lemonade | 33 | 32 | 32 | 5 | Lana Del Rey | West Coast | 32 | 31 | 23 | 21 | Beyonce featuring Jay-Z | Drunk in Love | 5 | 30 | 33 | 3 | Seether | Words As Weapons | 30 | 29 | 31 | 5 | O.A.R. | Peace | 29 | 28 | 30 | 5 | Tegan & Sara | I'm Not Your Hero | 28 | 27 | 20 | 21 | Hunter Hayes | Invisible | 10 | 26 | 29 | 6 | Michael Jackson | Love Never Felt So Good | 26 | 25 | 28 | 6 | Nico & Vinz | Am I Wrong | 25 | 24 | 27 | 6 | Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne | Rather Be | 24 | 23 | 25 | 6 | Route 94 featuring Jess Glynne | My Love | 23 | 22 | 24 | 6 | Sarah McLachlan | In Your Shoes | 22 | 21 | 22 | 11 | Katy B | Crying For No Reason | 21 | 20 | 14 | 22 | Neon Trees | Sleeping With a Friend | 1 (7) | 19 | 21 | 8 | Cher Lloyd | Sirens | 19 | 18 | 19 | 8 | Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX | Fancy | 18 | 17 | 16 | 12 | Jetta | Feels Like Coming Home | 16 | 16 | 15 | 14 | Ciara featuring Future | Anytime | 15 | 15 | 18 | 9 | Anastacia | Stupid Little Things | 15 | 14 | 9 | 21 | Rudimental featuring Emeli Sande | Free | 5 | 13 | 17 | 10 | Sara Evans | Slow Me Down | 13 | 12 | 13 | 13 | Coldplay | Midnight | 12 | 11 | 7 | 20 | SoMo | Ride | 1 (2) | 10 | 12 | 13 | John Martin | Anywhere For You | 10 | 9 | 11 | 16 | DJ Cassidy featuring Robin Thicke & Jessie J | Calling All Hearts | 9 | 8 | 10 | 13 | Lady Gaga | G.U.Y. | 8 | 7 | 8 | 13 | Berlin | Animal | 7 | 6 | 2 | 21 | Darling Parade | Crash & Burn | 1 (2) | 5 | 5 | 18 | John Newman | Losing Sleep | 5 | 4 | 6 | 19 | Kylie Minogue | Into the Blue | 4 | 3 | 4 | 14 | One Direction | You and I | 3 | 2 | 3 | 15 | Justin Timberlake | Not a Bad Thing | 2 | 1 | 1 | 21 | Kacey Musgraves | Follow Your Arrow | 1 (2) |
DROPPERS:Paramore - Ain't it Fun (from 39) Steve Grand - Back to California (from 38) Celine Dion & Ne-Yo - Incredible (from 34) DEBUT CORNER:"Don't": An incredibly infectious jam that I've been into ever since he debuted it on Saturday Night Live two months back; been eagerly awaiting the studio version. Strangely that now sounds a bit over-processed compared to that performance , but that's not enough to bring this down. "A Sky Full of Stars": We'll see how this affects "Midnight", but damn I go for that melody. This should easily have legs. "Somebody Else": Definitely much more R&B than I'm used to hearing from Emeli, and that's in large part due to main artist/producer Robert Glasper. I really like the overall vibe this has that makes it stand out so on my current playlist.

DROPPERS:Rascal Flatts - Rewind (from 37) George Michael - Let Her Down Easy (from 35) DEBUT CORNER:"Torpedo": The vibe of this song is what drew me to it - both its more "adult" sound, and its melody in general. "Chandelier": Originally couldn't stand it, till it surprisingly grew on me. The lyrics are probably the strongest part of this song.

• Really good to see "Into the Blue" in the Top 5. Hope it could keep climbing. • "Midnight" is close to be in the Top 10 and "My Love" reaches the Top 20. • Go "Rather Be", "West Coast" and "A Sky Full of Stars". • Kind off topic with last week, but amazing that "Red Ballons" was on your chart some weeks ago

DROPPERS:[/b] Beyonce featuring Jay-Z - Drunk in Love (from 39) Hunter Hayes - Invisible (from 37) DEBUT CORNER:"Haunted": Quite a standout R&B track with a unique and engrossing vibe from Bey. Regardless of other "singles" ' own status, this is the one that I've wanted to give a run to next. "Burning Gold": Probably the most upbeat single I've heard from Christina. It very much has that "stick-in-your-head" quality to it, both in the lyrics and in the piano. Suffice it to say, this should stick around for a while. Well, Kacey hangs on for her fourth week on top - but it's looking very likely that it will be her last, as not only does she lose her bullet this week, she is very clearly holding up Top 10 traffic! As the bullets extend to outside of the Top 10, she could be in for a hard fall next week. :( This, in turn, sets up a very exciting fight for next week, as while Justin may be #2, he is certainly not a lock to move into the top spot should Kacey fall. Also look for some shake-ups to potentially occur within the next few weeks. You see, I've actually been largely withdrawn from most of the current crop of music, as I delved into a series of year-end countdowns that I have from the 1980s and the early 90s, which wrapped up this past Wednesday. This means the chart has been mostly on autopilot, so to speak, for the past few weeks. This also means I'm way overdue for checking out the new music that has surfaced these past few weeks. And...that should do it for this week's chart talk. Until next week... :) -Mike

Oh, howdy Christina great song to see debut! Yay @ "Slow Me Down" hitting top 10! And a great number one for four consecutive weeks now. You must be some type of huge at40 fanatic, cuz everything about your chart resembles that from what I've seen (I used to be, but then I started tracking Mediabase's full charts, then I no longer payed attention cuz the Mediabase charts are much more updated).
