Summer for me is always going by the school year. Like, summer semester starts in early May for me and I think most other school systems do that as well. When I got out for summer throughout high school I don't remember anyone saying "YAY spring break" I think if it is peaking in June/July people will be calling it a summer smash instead of spring smash. Not that it really matters either way lol. **procrastinating** In high school we didn't get out until early June. So it was *basically* summer by then. College definitely gets out earlier. That is strange-I forget different places do it differently. My high school got out the first week of May for summer break. I think this year they are getting out the second week of May. It used to piss me off because I have NEVER been in a school system that went past my birthday. So, throughout elementary, middle, high school, and college we always got out before my birthday (May 22) and it sucked because everyone was off for Summer break (or, I guess you would call it Spring Break? ). Made me so mad especially when all my friends got huge birthday celebrations who had birthdays during the school year :( In Elementary school you actually got a party at school and cupcakes or something, but the summer/spring break kids were also screwed out of it. Then in college we would do huge drunken parties for everyone's birthday during the year, but everyone was home during the summer mostly. Sorry I know no one cares about my birthday woes **bitter**

There we go, a much more realistic adds date. Now will people please not say this is going to be a summer smash? lmao Spring smash ftw. It's a little concerning that she doesn't really have a "summer smash" on the album other than this, to be honest, but hopefully Red will ride the wave success of the past 3 singles. I'm sure it'll help a lot. It's more of a fall song than it is summer but hey, it's the best choice left. Ps. The next country single needs to be announced like...now. There's quite a bit of speculation that they won't release a stand-alone Taylor single right now to Country since she's featured on what is widely rumored to be Tim McGraw's next single "Highway Don't Care."

There's quite a bit of speculation that they won't release a stand-alone Taylor single right now to Country since she's featured on what is widely rumored to be Tim McGraw's next single "Highway Don't Care." Where did that come from? That means only Pop audiences would be the ones being exposed to her material. There are a lot of pros and cons to that decision (if it's true). Highway Don't Care is a lot more traditional country sounding than anything she has to offer at the moment so it could potentially pave the way for her next single, which would be her own. It would also mean they could potentially release Red to both formats at the same time. On the other hand, not giving country fans something from her record seems kind of...contradicting. I don't know how I'd feel about that. I think I'd like it better if she had the collaboration and her own song on the radio. Why get half of the exposure if you can get double the amount by going with a regular release?

^ I don't think there's been any speculation from industry people, just from members on this board. Like you said, it would make sense if they want "Red" released next simultaneously, but I'd like another solo country single first.

Oh okay. I just noticed that Begin Again is peaking this week on the Country charts, so if they were to release another song, it would be announced really soon.

It'll probably plunge next week and get passed by Little Big Town; it just has been treading water for a long time now and this seems to be a last minute push by her label.

The poster who first suggested that is an industry insider and he's been right about a lot of other things before, so as much as I want another country single to follow Begin Again, he seems to believe Highway will fill that void while this song is on pop radio.

March 5th is perfect! I Knew You Were Trouble will have just left the top spot. This will smash big & so will Red.

Even if it doesn't, top 3 is still really impressive for a song like Begin Again.

Let's celebrate your birthday this year! 22 style!

Taylor is supposed to perform this at the Brit Awards tonight from what I'm hearing. Good place to make a debut performance of this single.

I've been playing this for the past 20 minutes, nonstop, while getting ready for the bar. It's such a massive anthem.
I'm so ready for this to start smashing. I want to hear it...everywhere, every time I go out, and every 5 minutes on the radio. IDGAF. It's that infectious.

It may be my least favorite Taylor single. But I hope we get some good Taylor performances out of this single althrough. The first one is supposed to be next weekend in the UK on Let's Dance For Comic Relief that was taped when she was in the UK for the Brit Awards.

This just feels like a lesser "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" to me. It's not bad though.

I counted ~375 spins from AllAccess (I forget the exact number already ) so this has a great shot at top 50 debut tonight.

I'm hoping this and "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" are the debuts. :) 2 songs should be purged, I believe.

Offically, completely sick of this already. Hopefully it will have a good video and kick ass performances so my interest will be reignited.
