RadioWave Monitor sees "I See You" at the top for a 3rd consecutive week. They have been spot on with having the same number one as the Monday Billboard Airplay Charts for the past months. Let's see whether they will share the same winner this week again. Doubtful, as FGL has been tracking at #1 on the Real-Time Tracker since Tuesday. I know. But stranger things have happened. :) (And, I really want this track to get three weeks at the top. ;) )

At this point, there's about a 0% chance of this one getting 3 weeks at the top. FGL has been tracking at #1 on Billboard since Tuesday, and Luke is losing over 1 million a day now. FGL is already ahead of Luke, Luke is going backwards while FGL is still climbing, and there are still 3 days left in the Billboard tracking week.
So yeah, no chance that Luke gets a 3rd week here. FGL is virtually assured of the #1 spot on both charts.

Forgive me for resurrecting a thread that's over a month old, but I think there's something significant to note here.
"Games" has now pushed into the top 40 on Billboard. If it keeps going and gets to the top 40 on Mediabase, it would be in the countdown right? How often is a non-single in the top 40 countdown?
Or is this being pushed as a single? It just seems like an awful lot of stations jumping on board the same song.
I can see the label being okay with it while they get the debut single ready from the new album, but I can't help but thinking they honestly could have released another single from Crash My Party.
That being said, I think this layoff is going to create such a huge sales debut for his new single and album. I wonder if it would have been BIGGER had there been no Spring Break release.

"Life In A Northern Town" by Sugarland f/Little Big Town/Jake Owen reached #29 on MB in 2008, and "Texas" by George Strait reached #36 in 2005 on R&R (all with the help of Texas stations), and Rascal Flatts' "Life Is A Highway" in 2006, so it has happened before, though "Games" is at #46 on MB this week. I think Capitol didn't want to go through the whole process of another single from Crash My Party and were focused on Luke's upcoming album along with helping out promotion for Mickey, Darius, Dierks and Keith's latest singles. I still think "Games" is a hold over song for spring break, and the actual lead will be debuted next month.

Capitol Nashville definitely doesn't have a problem with "Games" getting airplay, but they're not actively promoting the song. It's just a solid radio-friendly song that radio stations have taken a liking to and are using to tide their listeners over until Luke's actual next single comes out. Another single from Crash My Party wouldn't have been a very good idea, in my opinion. I'm sure they want to use the ACM Awards to launch the next single and "era" so if they had released a 7th single from CMP, then we wouldn't have gotten new Luke music until late summer or fall.
The way they've done it was smart..."I See You" is still getting some good recurrent airplay, and "Games" and some of the other new Spring Break tracks have made their way to listeners as well, but yet there will be a little gap between "I See You" and Luke's next single, and that's a really great strategy by the label.

My dad has discovered a love of Luke Bryan, so I convinced him to get this CD. It's really good. I like all the singles. "I See You" wore on me and I actually really like it now. I always loved the melody in the chorus, but the instrumentation was very bro to me. I think it's a good song to end the era.
