Yess!!!! This is the second best song on the album after Roller Coaster IMO. This is the perfect song to follow up 3 mid-tempos in a row too. This song has a nice rock edge to it with it's guitars, but it has a very country story to it. I love the theme of the song. I know it has some minor elements of bro to it ("on the bed of my truck" lyric), but ultimately this is a song about not coping well with a breakup. Sales might start dwindling down with this single, but I expect this to be another strong player on radio. I absolutely love this song, Luke is on a roll.

Another great song off an outstanding album.--love the edge to it, as said above. This is what, the sixth single now? He still has "Beer In The Headlights" and "Dirt Road Diary" on the album which are #1 songs that won't see radio, unfortunately.
Luke may be a "bro-country" artist, but for the most part, you can't complain about what he's done with this album. Every song has a different feel to it, even if the lyrics are generic/lame. (Take notes, Jason)

I wanted "We Run This Town" or "Dirt Road Diary", but I'm not surprised at all that this is the single. This is a good choice, and I fully expect it to be another huge hit for Luke.

This probably should've been the 4th single instead of "Play It Again", but I'm glad it's getting a release. One of the standouts on the album imo.

Yayy this is one of my favorites. How many singles is this now? 6? I can't see the label going any further than this.

I like this well enough, though not as much as his last two singles. I would've rather seen them go with "Dirt Road Diary" instead, but it's nice to see them going with a rare sixth single here since that almost never happens these days, and it just makes sense to keep the era going since his album still hasn't been out *that* long and his chart climbs continue to be unparalleled.

I feel like going w/ We Run This Town or Beer in the Headlights would have been way better. Or even maybe do Dirt Road Diary, since it's clearly a fan-fav. I definitely see this being his worst performing single in years.

Excellent choice, both in terms of quality and commercial potential.

While this song is great too, I doubt it could have done any better or had any bigger impact than, "Play It Again." Personally I too would have loved for "I See You" to replace "That's My Kind Of Night", or "Play It Again" but completely understand why those were singles, and judging by the success of them (especially the former) it's impossible to argue the decision to release both. Actually all of the singles that have followed "Crash My Party" is exactly what I was expecting and in the correct order. Again, I certainly would have preferred that a couple weren't singles but the selections went chalk IMO. I was 50/50 on whether they'd go with one more or move on and judging by the reaction thus far, they made the popular choice.

Finally! I've always wanted I See You, Beer in the Headlights and Dirt Road Diary to be singles so it's nice to see one atleast seeing the light of day as a sixth single!

Hmm, I guess I'm in the minority on "I See You." I don't like this song at all. I don't like the mix of the guitar and beating drums in the intro (and that also continues into the remainder of the song) nor is there anything lyrically that pulls me in. I find it to be such a bland song overall, especially considering other songs he could have chosen for the sixth single. I was really hoping for "We Run This Town," but alas this will be another Luke single I hit skip on.

I forget how this goes, just like the rest of that cringe-worthy album.

I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't hear anything other than "average" and "forgettable" from Luke these days.
The lyrics, melody and message of this one are just as forgettable as the ones from his last few songs.
The only decent single from this album was "Drink A Beer," but even that one received WAY more praise than warranted. If these singles were released 10-15 years ago, there's no way Luke's singles would be considered good, let alone great.
I suppose it's great for Luke that the standards have been lowered significantly in Country music these days.

How many albums have had 6 singles released and all of them charted in the top 40? The record holder is Shania Twain. Her Come On Over CD spawned eleven singles and eleven top 40 hits. The best example of six singles from one CD is Tim McGraw's Everywhere from 1997. Six singles, six top two hits.

The rest were top two hits. In the McGraw example, NONE peaked below the top two.

You're obviously not the only one who feels that way. This is my least favorite Luke single of the era. I much would have preferred they released, "We Run This Town," "Beer In The Headlights," or "Dirt Road Diary." I still this being a pretty big hit for Luke though - especially for a 6th single.

Dixie Chicks had 8 songs off their "Fly" album I believe, and amazingly in the span of about 2-3 years. Although two of the songs (Goodbye Earl and Heartbreak Town) didn't go Top 10, that album was stacked.

The other thing that I could see is him winning Album of the year at the CMA awards this year. Hey if Jason Aldean can win the award with a bro country album so can Luke! Yes I'm a fan of bro country!

I am not surprised by this single choice since it was in the running for lead off single. I'll admit it was not my favorite when the album first came out, but since then it has grown on me quite a bit. I love the lyrics and edge it has, and I think it will stand out on radio. I just wish the guitars were toned down a bit. Part of me thought (and hoped) he might release "Shut It Down" because he performed it on tour. That would have been a nice change for him. :)
I will say that I'm sad and a little surprised that "Dirt Road Diary" will probably never see radio. I love that song and still think it would be huge. "Roller Coaster" and "Dirt Road Diary" were the two songs off the album I wanted as singles, so at least I got one of them. I'm just glad he didn't, and probably won't release "Beer In The Headlights." I love the production of the song, but with those lyrics Luke would get into even more trouble with the bro country critics. I got a little worried when he performed it at the show I went to, but felt better when I looked on YouTube a few days later and saw that the only live footage of that song was from my show.
EDIT: Up until now I thought that Kenny Chesney's Hemingway's Whiskey had more single releases than any of his albums. I completely forgot how many singles came off of a When The Sun Goes Down.

This one is ok, I don't really like the rock edge it has, but the lyrics are decent. I've hated everything Luke's done since Drunk On You (and thought that "Roller Coaster" was incredibly annoying), but this song makes me a little more open to Luke's music again.
