Via Windmills and the Shotgun Seat: Kip Moore had an interview with ET about his new album Wild Ones and he's some of the quotes:

I apologize for a double post but I think it's best for MCA to move on from "I'm To Blame" once Wild Ones drops because this single is spinning its wheels. "I'm To Blame" has lost 360k in audience the past two days and has lost over 100k for the week. Kip's total MB audience gained over the past three weeks has been just 900k and I just don't get the sense that this one can hold on much longer.
I haven't given any of the songs that will be on Wild Ones a listen (studio or live versions) so I can't speak for what would be the best choice for a follow-up, but all I know is that they're 0 for 3 in terms of good single selections since "Young Love" was released, IMO. I'm glad "I'm To Blame" got his album out but I'm so sick of this song and I'm anxious to see this leave the chart.

I'm glad "I'm To Blame" got his album out but I'm so sick of this song and I'm anxious to see this leave the chart. Almost every track I've heard from Wild Ones sounds like a better single choices than Kip's last 3 single choices. "Wild Ones" could be a "Drinking Class"-type anthemic hit. "Comeback Kid" reminds me a bit of Dierks' "Riser". "Magic" and "Running For You" are both love songs; "Running For You" seems to be the more country radio-ready option. And the live version of "Lipstick" sounds like a big hit, but I'll wait to hear the album version to decide. I also don't get the single choices for Kip. I'm one of the few who really loved "Young Love", but I understand why it didn't become a hit. The release of "Dirt Road" was perplexing to me; it never sounded like a song that would have a chance at making it at country radio. I'm glad "I'm To Blame" got the album out, but after hearing some of the songs on the album I don't think it should have been such an arduous process.

After hearing "Running For You" I'm SO hoping this one makes it as a single...it needs to be. Wild Ones probably will be at some point and I'll be glad. That's Alright With Me would be a good one but not sure on some of the lyrics as far as country radio goes Lipstick and Hearts Desire too.... Gosh, one more week!!!!

"Running for you" is an absolute SMASH waiting to happen. Studio version of Lipstick is probably gonna sound great too. Love what I've heard from Wild Ones.

I have to say I've liked everything I've heard so far from his new album except for the title track. "I'm To Blame" has really grown on me a lot, it's actually now one of my favorites out there right now (at least in the mainstream world).

The title track is actually my favourite one so far, but I've really enjoyed them all. Cannot wait for this album. I do think he'll be able to score at least one top 10 hit from this album.. Some of the stuff is too good and too radio friendly not be huge.

Anybody know if the deluxe version of "Wild Ones" is an exclusive online thing, or will it be available at someplace like Walmart or Target?

The album isn't on Spotify yet, but it's available on iTunes and Amazon now. Amazon has the deluxe edition (16 tracks) MP3 album for just $11.49. It's $11.99 on iTunes.
I used iTunes to preview all the songs (I hadn't listened to any of them until tonight) and then I went to Amazon and bought it right away (I knew I was going to buy it whether I could preview it or not). All I can say is...damn, Kip has a real winner here. I'm absolutely stunned that they went with "I'm To Blame" as the lead single. It's really the only song that I don't care for, and I never thought it sounded like a big hit either, whereas a bunch of the other songs here sound like big hits (the same feeling I had for tracks like "Beer Money" and others from his debut). I don't hate ITB...it's just that it doesn't really do anything for me.
Anyway, I'll have more thoughts when we can get a listening party thread going. I am definitely not disappointed, though -- Kip's sophomore album is great! Oh, and one other thought...thank goodness there's not even a tiny bit of bro-country on this album (I knew there wouldn't be, but it's just nice to hear an album like this one).

People classify Kip as "bro-country" all the time and it's because of the singles his management team makes him put out but I tell those people to listen to the entire album and it's tracks and not what you hear on radio. There really isn't much bro-country about Kip what so ever. This album is a freaking GAME changer. He is getting a LOT of critical acclaim as well. I cannot say enough about it other than the fact that saying I'm proud of Kip and the guys is an absolute understatement. Lol, I feel like a proud mom right now and might have teared up a bit..or a lot.. on the first listen. Not afraid to admit it!! Can't wait to hear what others have to say about this album.
Oh, and MAKE SURE you get the Deluxe version!!!!

From the Rolling Stone article: "But Music Row doesn't exactly love the slow game, and Moore, who crafts every song with a team of trusted collaborators like co-writers Westin Davis and Dan Couch, and producer Brett James, was offered a few surefire, spoon-fed hits post-"Dirt Road," written by others. "It was so against who I am as an artist," he says. "But I replied in the nicest way, 'I''ll quit music before I do these songs.' I will not stand on stage and pretend to be something I'm not. I won't do it, and I never will. I've written four or five more bodies of work since I've finished this record. I'll never stop" ^^ Now that just proves to me that this guy is the real deal. Respect. It's past the time to ditch this and get a follow-up single out there. It's languished around #20 for long enough now.
So many single options to choose from on such a great album. I think they should go with "Running for You".
