Wondering if Jana will be able to pass Sam Hunt and Brothers Osborne before the 18th... The gap on MB between Jana and Sam is not much, but there is a pretty huge gap between Sam and Brothers Osborne right now.. There are still 12 days left though... Hmm.
Edit: If Thomas does take the top spot again for the week of Jan 11, and LoCash and Jason start falling, it looks like Jana could peak at #4 on MB for the week of Jan 18. If she passes Sam she could possibly have a Top 3 peak but I don't see that happening lol

This alternate version is so much better! I'm heartbroken at that ending!
I hope this isn't personal but was Monroe someone she used to love or date or not? I tried checking online but I couldn't find anything on that.

I know that Warner is really pushing this one and so I shouldn't be surprised that it's in the top 10 and still going strong...but then when I look at the callout scores, I feel absolutely stunned that radio is still playing this one so much. This song has just awful numbers on 2 of the 3 Bullseye callout charts**. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen numbers so bad.
On Bullseye Callout, "I Got The Boy" is #39 out of 40 songs total (Easton Corbin's "Yup" is #40). Jana has a "strong dislike" score of 11.0 (most songs are at 0 or 1.0) and a fatigue rating of 38! (that's about 3x the average fatigue score of all the other songs combined). On Callout America, Jana is #33 out of #35, with a "strong dislike" rating of 8.3 (most other songs are below 1.0) and a fatigue rating of 36.
What's really bizarre is that, on the 3rd Bullseye chart (RadioFeedback), Jana is #2 overall (go figure, lol), only behind "Die A Happy Man". On RadioFeedback, "I Got The Boy" has the highest 'like-a-lot' rating of 51.6 (only a few other songs, including "Die A Happy Man", "Top Of The World", and "Burning House", are above 40 in the 'like-a-lot' column).
The only other song that's performing similarly to "I Got The Boy" on all 3 Bullseye surveys is Brothers Osborne's "Stay A Little Longer". It has high dislike and high fatigue scores on the first 2 surveys, but it's #6 overall on the 3rd one. Something about the research seems very flawed, but one thing I know for sure is that "I Got The Boy" has been testing very poorly for a long, long time now.
**As far as I know, Bullseye Callout and Callout America are phone surveys, and RadioFeedback is done via email. But it's weird that people surveyed via phone (and it's a different sample group every week) don't seem to like Jana's song, but people who complete the RadioFeedback survey (via email) seem to love it.
IDK. It doesn't really make a lot of sense to me (how the online survey can look so much different than the phone surveys), but I do know that radio pays some attention to these major national callout surveys...and so if a song doesn't research very well, it can often be somewhat of a death sentence. The listener feedback for this song is really an enigma to me. In all the years I've been following charts (and callout surveys), I've never seen anything like this situation.

From what I can tell, this seems to be one of the most popular songs out there right now, so I think that one that has Jana at #2 is probably the more accurate one of the options, honestly. I see basically nothing but positive comments about this one online and this is all over my radio constantly with the DJs often talking about how it's one of their most requested songs, so... something doesn't totally add up for me that this is getting highly negative scores on some of the callout research. From what I've seen and from the sales that have been high since before it even made the Top 40 at country radio, methinks more people like this one than not. /shrug

From what I've seen and from the sales that have been high since before it even made the Top 40 at country radio, methinks more people like this one than not. /shrug Well obviously more people like it than not like it...there's no way it would have gone top 40 let alone top 10 if the majority of people hated it. And yeah, sales have been above average (it's closing in on 500k), but they're not mind-blowingly good like "Burning House", "Die A Happy Man", "Take Your Time", or "Girl Crush". I was simply saying that I'm confused as to why this one is testing so poorly on 2 of the 3 surveys that Bullseye conducts. I mean, in almost every other case where a song wasn't researching very well on any of the Bullseye Callout charts, the song received quite a bit of resistance from radio. And I think we're seeing that here (resistance from radio). I definitely think "I Got The Boy" is polarizing (most likely because it's a song from a female...) and, based on what I've observed through chart-watching in the past, it seems to me that radio has been quite reluctant to push this one any higher in rotation (basically, when a certain demographic doesn't like a song and gives it bad scores on a callout survey, but the song gets a lot of spins anyway, that leads to high fatigue scores...and if the listeners that don't like the song change the station, then that station's ratings go down, and that means that they don't get as much money from advertisers). I think this one will fall really hard after the 18th, kinda like "Girl Crush" did. "Girl Crush" was obviously a much bigger hit, but there are similarities. "Girl Crush" was very polarizing...a lot of listeners didn't like it, but then a bunch of other people (those who bought it) really liked it. There wasn't a lot of middle ground. I feel like it's kinda the same with this one (but just on a smaller scale, sales-wise that is). People either really like it, or they don't like it and are really tired of it. I'm just really perplexed by the Bullseye data. Almost every other song is researching fairly consistently across each of the 3 surveys...except this one.

I have "I Got The Boy" coming in at #7 this week for BB and it actually looks like Jana Kramer lost a little ground on Luke Bryan so Jana will have some work to do if she wants a top #5 finish on either chart. MB is basically secured but Jana will either need to pass Luke or have both Jason Aldean and Thomas Rhett fall below her. So Jana has to make the pass on Luke Bryan otherwise "I Got The Boy" wil be the first song to peak at #6 on BB since sabre14 I can't think of it. Do you remember the last song to peak at #6 on BB because I can't recall it for the life of me .

Warner Music Nashville put a "Max Spins" ad in Aircheck tonight, so this week is definitely it for "I Got The Boy". There was zero mention of "#1" so they'll be content with a top 5 MB finish.

I'm really happy that this song can finish in the top 5 (on MB at least)! I hope Sam and Luke will play along with this... On BB it's probably going to finish at #6 (if she manages to pass Luke who's 1.6 million ahead of her) or #7. Sam's too far ahead at this point for Jana to finish in the top 5 on BB. I personally loved the please in parentheses in the ad. I just found it a bit funny

I just found it a bit funny I think there's a chance that LoCash and maybe even Jason Aldean will fall below Jana this week, allowing "I Got The Boy" to finish in the top 5 on both charts. It's too soon to know yet, but the morning Mediabase update should give us a big clue. LoCash looks to have peaked at #3 (they had a "thank you country radio" ad out in tonight's Aircheck issue), and since they're only about 9.4 million ahead of Jana on Billboard, it's conceivable that they could fall all the way below her. It's pretty common for older songs (like "I Love This Life") to lose 8-10 million (or more) in the first week that they start dropping, and Jana's probably gonna jump past 40 million herself. So even if ILTL 'only' loses ~5-6 mil, Jana could jump ahead if she gains another 4+ mil like she did this past week. In short, I could see the top 5 for next week's Billboard & Mediabase charts shaking out something like this: 1) Thomas 2) Brothers Osborne 3) Sam 4) Luke/Karen (maybe Jana gets #4 on MB, with Luke at #5) 5) Jana ...followed by LoCash, Jason, and Granger Smith.

I sure hope that this is how the charts will play out in the coming week. The only thing I don't understand is LoCash settling for #3 when #1's right there, but that's a whole another topic that could be discussed in the "I Love This Life" thread. Maybe Thomas is too strong? And Jason seriously needs to go at this point. Anyway, I wish the best of luck to "I Got The Boy" this week :) The next update should tell us what to expect for this upcoming week, so I'll be looking forward to seeing the update!

Fingers crossed that this one can make the Top 5! Even if it doesn't, what an incredible run for this. This was definitely a very big single even though it will have peaked at #5/6. So happy that this one sold so well and got as high as it did on the country airplay charts. It did amazing considering it was one of the most "countriest"-sounding singles of the year by any mainstream artist by far. <33

Tonight one of my (many) friends who hates country but knows I love it and therefore tries to rip me for it frequently told me that he did like 1 country song and lo and behold it was this! I was so happy to hear that! He was all excited to tell me because I hadn't seen him in 3 weeks because of winter break, and I was like "Yessssss I love this song!!!" #randomanecdote

It's really funny that the one country song he likes is a traditional-leaning one... If someone told me that, I would expect it to be something from artists like Sam Hunt.

Officially Announced on Bobby Bones. The next single from Jana's 2 project is "Said No One Ever"
I Love the song! So I'm hoping it'll do well.
They Unofficially said there was a video already shot for it as well.

Said No One Ever is probably one of the worst single choice they could go with and I foresee Jana struggling to ascend on the charts again. Such a shame because the album has huge potential and we need more females on Country radio. Still will support her regardless but I'm not holding out hope for this one at all.

"I Got The Boy" has gained nearly 670 spins and over 4.2 million in MB audience over the past four days...
Jana is 100% guaranteed a Mediabase top 5 as Jason will fall below her by Sunday. She'll probably get to #4 if she's able to finagle around Sam Hunt, which judging by the spins and audience gains for both songs, should happen since Sam has only gained about 1.0 million in audience and half the spins that Jana has over the past four days -- the MB points should be extremely close as of Friday between "I Got The Boy" and "Break Up In A Small Town."
This could very well equal the dramatic fall that "Fly" endured this past Fall once next week comes.

They Unofficially said there was a video already shot for it as well. I think this one could be a bit more polarizing/grating for some listeners, but I do love the song as well and I actually believe it's a pretty catchy tune and lyrically quite clever. It reminds me of early-era Taylor Swift, like the feel of some of the more uptempo tracks on her debut album, for instance. It's a cute song and I hope it still does alright. I'm just glad they didn't pick another ballad.

"I Got The Boy's" peak on Mediabase will be #4 as Jana jumped Sam and Jason today. This song gained over 1200 spins and roughly 7.0 million in audience this week...

I have Jana coming in at #5 for BB week. I have her passing Sam Hunt and Jason falling below. But I doubt Jana can pass "Home Alone Tonight" as Luke & Karen manage to keep their distance from Jana. Congratulations to Jana for having this become her second Top 5 hit.

I am so shocked this one makes top 5! I remember at one time it seemed like it was stalling severely a while in the 40's & 30's or so I thought? I'd look at the charts and think it would never even make top 20 to be honest. Pleasant surprise! Does anyone know when the last time a solo-female artist made top 5 finish on country radio? just curious? Or how long its been?
