The article about "Mayday" in Billboard tonight refers to the song getting the biggest response from fans, so that's the reason it was picked as the next single:

I think this has a decent shot of cracking the top 40 this week. Thomas Rhett should (finally) go recurrent, radio seems to be switching to "Make You Miss Me" so "Raised On It" should fall, and "Break On Me" might leave as well. Tyler Farr is also a possibility. Blake and Luke will likely debut ahead of her (Blake is guaranteed to), but she's close enough to the songs ahead of her that I think she will pull ahead and make the top 40.

"'Mayday" cracks the Mediabase top 40 this week with Randy Houser and Maddie & Tae going recurrent this afternoon. Cam should clock in at #39.

I like this one a lot. Cams voice is very compelling to me. Kind of like how Kimberly Perry's voice is on their first two albums.

And let me tell you she sounds wonderful live in concert. Saw her open for Brad. She's very comfortable on stage and she sounds surprisingly "seasoned" considering how young her career is. This sound sounded great live as well. I'm hoping she has a long career because she is one of the few newcomers (seeing mainstream success) who is putting out emotion- and thought-provoking music.

Music video is currently in the works. She's also performing this at the ACMs this Sunday. She's performing at the ACM's, but unless I missed something, it doesn't specifically say that she's performing "Mayday". I'm actually expecting a 90-second performance of "Burning House".
Edit: I guessed right. Cam will be performing "Burning House". Source: RCA Records press release (Cam is jointly signed to RCA Records New York & Sony Nashville)

^That's pretty cool looking. Cam has a very retro classic look about her, like she could be painted on the nose of a bomber.

The music video looks like it'll be cool!
Hopefully it'll also help it rise on radio on a a bit faster pace. This one is moving up way too slow imo. All the big and new releases aren't helping either though...

She's performing at the American Country Countdown Awards tomorrow and if you Shazam her performance, you can see a sneak peak of the "Mayday" music video.

(sorry to have like half the posts on this page lol)
#184 on iTunes right now. She performed this last night at the ACCAs, as well as performing with Martina McBride and Jennifer Nettles on McBride's "This One's For The Girls".
I can't seem to find a performance on either and nothing has been uploaded about the sneak peak on her Vevo or anything.
I hope the performance and the music video help fuel this back up on radio. It's moving very slowly right now, and I'm starting to doubt its future on the charts. This is too damn good to just scrape the Top 40. At least it'll always be #1 in my heart.

I am going to admit something very petty but as I was watching her performance on tv last night, I was so distracted by the grey boots she was wearing whch IMO did not work that I lost focus of her performance. m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=-qjBYSDrMGc

I thought she sounded outstanding. I love the live performances of this because I love how prominent the band is during their background vocals. They give the song a bit of a new identity. I thought she looked great too, as she always does, though, admittedly, the boots did not work with that outfit. She should've just gone with her usual yellow heels. It didn't take away from the performance for me personally, but I know you're not the only one to say that. I saw someone comment that on her Facebook post with the picture of her outfit lol. (side note: was the drummer shirtless? lol)

I hope that this can pick up. "Mayday" isn't all that old yet (only 12 weeks on Billboard), but it's been bouncing around in the 35-40 range for awhile. It can still take off, I know, but I was hoping that "Burning House"'s massive success would have gotten this one off to a quicker start.

This song has grown on me a lot. Cam's voice and delivery is really something special.

Video looks like it will be amazing. Maybe Arista Nashville is using Carrie's video budget on Cam! (Joking.)

A really well-done video. I especially appreciate the way the treatment harnesses the sexist criticism endured by Amelia Earhart-type pioneers and acknowledges the importance of such female pioneers in inspiring the next generation of explorers. Obviously, the treatment also plays interestingly against the backdrop of the current country radio environment. On a somewhat shallow note, I love how expressive Cam's eyes are. The warmth and empathy in them match the warmth and empathy in her voice.

Wow, gorgeous video!
Gives the song a haunting aura it didn't have for me before and it works perfectly.

I really like the video! I agree about the haunting and the expressiveness of her eyes (something I noticed prior to reading that) as well.
