89. Bad Suns - PretendPeak: 16 (2 weeks)Wks: 17Album: Language & PerspectiveTrack: 4Genre: Indie RockHere is an Indie Rock band that has made my top 100 year end charts for three years straight. In 2014; it was "Cardiac Arrest". Last year; "Dancing In Quicksand" also made my list. and this year "Pretend" scored big. What I really love about the band; are the vocals and the way they execute the guitar parts.

88. CHVCHES Leave A TracePeak: 15Wks: 19Album: Every Open EyeTrack: 2Genre: SynthpopWe are up to one of my favorite synthpop bands and a very popular band on the Alternative charts. They score; not one, not two, but three songs in my top 100..and this is barely the first appearance too.

87. Swim Season - Soldiers Peak: 15Wks: 21Album: CascadesTrack: 1Genre: Indie RockAnother Indie band comes in strong at #87. "Soldiers" is from their album Cascades". This is the kind of Indie Rock that really sounds great to my ears. Unique sounding vocals too and a quick great guitar solo to top the icing on the cake.

86. Sundara Karma - Flame Peak: 15Wks: 21Album: Youth is Only Ever Fun in RetrospectTrack: 5Genre: Indie RockSundara Karma is an Indie Rock band that is barely getting recognition on The Alternative charts. They just had their first top 40 song called "Loveblood". I was charting "Flame" ; when they were just releasing singles on soundcloud. Anyway, I'm glad they are finally going mainstream. They have also rerecorded the MV for the song. Which means this song might be the next single? The original was a bit more humorous. lately I have been listening to "She Said". That's the one I'll start charting soon.

85. Girl Friend - Monte CarloPeak: 14Wks: 20Album: Arrive Alone, Leave Alone - EPTrack: 1Genre: indie PopAnother new artist making my top 100 of 2016; is a great Indie Pop band ;who's songs have a nice 80's element. This was a late charter for 2015, that rolled into my 2016 weekly charts. After listening to their entire album; I'll surely have my eye on more of their material for 2017. A possible next song I could chart is called "Tragic On The Dance Floor" that one has a bit of a Disco Groove to it.

84. The Defiants (ex Danger Danger) - Underneath The StarsPeak: 14Wks: 20Album: The Defiants LPTrack: 12Genre: Glam MetalHere is another song that has now spent; 20+ weeks on my weekly charts. The band is made up of members from The 80's Glam Metal band ;Danger Danger. They were known for big hits like, "Naughty Naughty:, Blame It On Love" and my favorite; "Bang Bang". "Underneath The Stars" is straight out in your face melodic guitar rock that keeps the adrenaline running from start to finish. Their Debut album; entitled simply, The Defiants has a lot of great songs that will probably make their way onto my 2017 weekly charts.

83. Ghost - From The Pinnacle To The PitPeak: 13Wks: 15Album: MelioraTrack: 2Genre: Doom MetalAnother of my favorite bands from Sweden; is the Heavy Metal/Doom Metal band; Ghost. They have recently found stardom on The Active Rock charts with their Meliora album. This was one of the biggest rock songs of the year, but be patient; for I still have one more ;Ghost song, to reveal on my year end chart. Want to guess which one?

82. BABYMETAL - KaratePeak: 12Wks: 16Album: Metal ResistanceTrack: 2Genre: Kawaii MetalUp next is one of the songs that ended up on sadchild's worst of the year. I admit to liking this song quite a bit. I generally enjoy Metal as much as Indie Pop and I thought the compositon was rather crafty. The good: Great melodic metal with great vocals from the lead singer; Su-metal. She has a high and strong vocal range which carries the song in a very epic manner. The bad aspects are few but do stand out. One would be the sai-ya chants in between the verses. the big one is the band itself. While I love the song; I'm really not on board with corporate pop gimics. Hopefully the band survives the 15 minutes of fame syndrome and becomes a stronger force in the years to come, but that's a big maybe? For now enjoy this new genre called "Kawaii Metal.

81. Marina and the Diamonds - BluePeak: 13Wks: 20Album: FrootTrack: 4Genre: Indie PopMarina and The Diamonds are a band I have been charting since 2010. This was the second single off "Froot", that has made my year end chart. This particualr song has a very *0's sorta Madonna vibe to it. Think of the "True Blue" era. A very uptempo Pop song that had a nice long life on my weekly charts. She also looks fabulous in the MV.

80. Night Flowers - SleepPeak: 13Wks: 23Album: TBATrack: 1Genre: Indie Alt RockAnother new artist finds themselves onto my year end chart. This band has a nice Indie Pop and Alt mix to their music. Think The Craberries for the 90's. This was also one of the most long -lasting songs on my weekly charts; that never reached top 10. The MV was also purposely filmed that way to give it an 80's look.

Nothing But Thieves - Trip Switch Peak: 13(2 weeks)Wks: 21Album: Nothing but ThievesTrack: 8Genre: Indie Alt Rockand right into one of the biggest Alternative songs of the year and second appearance for Nothing But Thieves; on my year end chart. Their self titled, debut, album, is full of great songs, like "Ban All The Music" and "Itch". I really hope They decide to release a third single soon.

78. Melody Day - Speed Up(K-Pop) Peak: 12(3 weeks)Wks: 16Album: "Speed Up" singleTrack: 1Genre: K-PopAnother uptempo K-pop songs makes the chart. This was 80's dance melodies in the structure. I hear the melos of songs from Cover Girls and Expose' just at higher BPMs. That made the song stand out even more for me. The song also showcases the strong high octane vocals of female ,K-pop, vocalists which I really enjoy. and last , but not least, the features on of my favorite breakdowns of any songs this year.

76. Saint Motel - MovePeak: 8Wks: 13Album: SaintmotelevisionTrack: 1Genre: Indie PopAt just 13 weeks on my chart; this song is relatively new to the charts. It's also one of the biggest songs on the actual Alternative charts. You will remember them from last year with the mega hit; "My Type". "Move" has all the ingredients; of "My Type" is headed straight to my # 1 postition in early 2017. Here it makes it first appearance at a high number 76; for this 2016 year end chart.

75. The Naked And The Famous - HigherPeak: 7Wks: 15Album: Simple FormsTrack: 1Genre: Indie PopWe are up The Naked and Famous. "Higher" is the first single off "Simple Forms". This song is a late peak on my weekly charts. It's #7 this week, but could keep climbing in early 2017? "Simple Forms" is also a great synthpop album with many more probable songs for me to chart. At first listen "Laid Low" looks to be another big hit on my future charts?

74. a-ha - Cast In SteelPeak: 12 (3 weeks)Wks: 18Album: Cast in SteelTrack: 1Genre: Retro SynthpopAnother iconic ,80's, band; made a big comeback on my chart this year. They are known for such classics as "Take On Me" and "the Sun Always Shines On T.V.". Both were #1 songs in my 80's charts. "Cast In Steel" is more of a Synthpop ballad of sorts. It reminded so much how great Morten's vocals are; that it spent 18 big weeks on my weekly charts.

I really liked the Fountains of Wayne; vibe this song had, but it was also had some of the most crafty lyrics of a song this year.

69. Meg Myers - A Bolt From The Blue Peak: 10Wks: 19Album: SorryTrack: 3Genre: Indie SynthpopHere is the 4rth single I'm charting from Meg Myers. It just went top 10; so it could roll over into 2017. Meg has some really powerful vocals and her songs also vary in many different styles. This is her most Synthpop sounding song on the album. Think; Tegan and Sara or naked and Famous. A really great song. Also made a fan art cover art using her original logo name.

68. Wonder Girls - I Feel You (K-Pop) Peak: 10Wks: 19Album: RebootTrack: 3Genre: K-PopThis is my second highest ranking K-pop song this year. It is also from my favorite K-Pop girl band. Not only because their songs have a heavy 80's synthpop vibe- This particular song could have been written by the late, great, Prince, but also they are somewhat different from your average Pop band; in that they play their instruments. There are a couple live MVs showing them play to a live audience. I'm uploading this video, because its the only one where she plays the synth solo live. Sultry.

67. Echosmith - Let's Love
Peak: 10Wks: 20Album: Talking DreamsTrack: 2Genre: Indie PopThe "Cool Kids" ;themsleves are back this year with the 4rth single off "Talking Dreams". This is a band made up of siblings; who also play their own instruments. That is something I really respect in today's Pop music and I wish more artists would follow this road. Or at least incorporate a real band ; like Demi Lovato does.

66. Shiraz Lane - For Crying Out Loud
Peak: 10Wks: 20Album: For Crying Out LoudTrack: 8Genre: Sleaze RockThis band next to Echosmith is rather comon practice on my charts. I love Metal as much as Indie. This particular band falls under the term; "Sleaze Rock". It's like a union between 80's Motley Crue and Skid Row. This song really jumped at me the first time I heard it and just had to chart it. If you dig on harder rock sound give Shiraz Lane a listen. Some of their songs also have a bit of Blues Rock to them.

65. Allie X - PrimePeak: 10Wks: 21Album: CollXtion I Track: 3Genre: SynthpopAllie X is a first time artist charting on my year end list. Aside for the music; I think her vocals capture that perfect 80's tone. I'm surprised she didn't fall off that chair after all that spinin'.
